I'm the Director of Professional Services for an IT Services company that's based in Adelaide, South Australia.

For what projects/services did your company hire Sydpro Pty Ltd?
We needed skilled engineers for in-demand skill sets such as Microsoft 365 and Azure and engaged Sydpro to provide skilled engineers from Sri Lanka.

How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?
The market in Adelaide has always been tight, and the skills shortage on the back of the pandemic has only made things worse. We realised that we needed to start thinking 'outside of the box' and looked at a number of options for sourcing talent from overseas. Sydpro stood out for a number of reasons. You're dealing with an Australian company, service is exceptional, they can source both locally and overseas, and have established operations to support offshore staff in Sri Lanka.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
The Professional Services team performs the delivery of technology solutions for Nuago's clients. Delivery is typically performed as a formal project. While Nuago delivers solutions across a range of technologies, the requirement in this instance was for candidates with M365 skills.
Describe the recruitment process in detail.
We actively monitor both the utilisation of resources within the Professional Services team and the forward sales piepline to identify triggers for new hires and specific skills required. Recuitment for the resources with the appropriate skills (both internally and externally) will then be performed.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?
With Sydpro's support we have been able to source two skilled engineers from Sri Lanka - a Technical Consultant in Professional Services, and a Level 3 Suppport Engineer in Managed Services. They enabled us to meet service delivery commitments to our customers.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I spoke to numerous organizations whilst investigating options for staff augmentation. The key feedback provided was to ensure a quality onboarding experience and to ensure that offshore personnel were properly supported as they come up to speed. This has held true in our experience - we had to step up and make sure we provided them with the support they needed to be successful in their roles. This would hold true for anyone working 100% remote.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Working with an Australian company is very important from a commercial and legal standpoint. Having offices in Columbo with HR staff to support offshore staff on the ground is also very beneficial.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
No none.

Thinking about foreign exchange impacts for offshore resources was a surprise to everyone and pegging currency to AUD upfront probably makes more sense in 2023 than id did earlier in the project
