I’m the owner of a tech startup that develops mobile applications and other kinds of consumer applications.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sunfocus Solutions Pvt. Ltd.?

We needed outsourced help in completing our development projects, which mostly involves creating iOS applications and websites.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our engagements always start off with a product request document (PRD), which contains the technical details of the project. We provide that to them, and then they review it. If they don’t have any questions or issues about it, they come up with the overall plan within a day or two.

Once we approve the plan, they start the development process immediately. During this phase, they do a build release on a weekly basis to show us the work they’ve done. They then ask for feedback, implement them, and continue the entire process until we have a final product.

What is the team composition?

It really depends on the project requirements, but we typically work with a project lead, a developer, and Vikas (Founder & Chief Managing Director), who’s our main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Sunfocus Solutions Pvt. Ltd.?

I found them online through a freelance service website.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $25,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in November 2018, and our engagement is still ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

All of the application builds that they’ve developed have never crashed, which is a very impressive feat. In terms of user downloads, there’s a total of 100,000 users for all the apps they’ve worked on.

How did Sunfocus Solutions Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been great — whenever I have a request or something comes up, they respond immediately and address it quickly. In a nutshell, they’re always on top of everything, which makes them very easy to work with.

For communication, we usually have a channel set up for each project on Skype, and we also use Loom to conduct walkthroughs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Sunfocus Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is doing a really solid job in terms of delivery — the quality of their code is top-notch, and they go above and beyond to ensure everything is up to our standards.  They’re also very transparent and fair when it comes to project scope and pricing.

Are there any areas they could improve on?

I don’t think there’s anything that they need to improve on — I have no complaints.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to provide them with a spec document that basically contains everything that’s needed for the project. People usually run into issues when things aren’t specified clearly.

I am the owner of the Trucking software company. We provide logistics software to the trucking industry in the United States and Canada

For what projects/services did your company hire Sunfocus Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and what were your goals?

We tasked Sunfocus Solutions to develop a custom mobile applications for the rig drivers to receive work orders, accept or decline the jobs assigned, provide status updates, upload relevant documents and using GPS tracking show the geo location of their semi trailer.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected this vendor due to their earlier work experience, solid feedback for their past work and in talking to their team, we believed they understood our requirements better than others competing for the same project.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We provided them with a rough sketch of what we were planning to do. With-in two weeks they produced a beautiful design using Figma. We didn't need many changes to it. Once we approved the final design, we had a group meeting with their team. They clearly understood our requirements and began to work on it in earnest. The technology used were ReactNative, React and PostgreSQL.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There was a project manager and two programmers (Frontend and a backend programmer). They also had a QA to test the deliverables before releasing it to us.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our requirement was a little complex. Their program had to interact with our existing desktop application. We wanted to modify the code to fit our environment. They helped us during the integration. They were available quickly to make any code changes to suite our environment.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project manger was brilliant. He knew exactly what we wanted to accomplish evern during times we had difficulty expressing exactly what we were looking for in the end product. He gave ideas to make the app more user friendly. The team kept us informed about the progress with the daily updates. We had meetings over skype when either party had questions.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very talented at the same time humble. They listened to you and helped you achieve what you set to accomplish. They gently inform you if you are expectations are unrealistic. They suggest a better way to do the same task.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I can't think of anything. They were excellent overall.
