“In terms of someone who can deliver, we probably can’t get any better than them.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the president of Premier Live Experience, a live entertainment company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Subverse Multimedia?
We needed help with marketing assets, collateral, and anything artwork-related. We outsourced it all to Subverse Multimedia.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Anytime we have an upcoming event, we give Subverse Multimedia an itinerary with the date and the assets that we need. We book national artists, and they’re responsible for attracting customers to our shows. They’ve produced web fliers, print posters, video commercials, Instagram stories, and other collateral for us.
What is the team composition?
We only work with Hugo (Senior Graphic Designer, Subverse Multimedia).
How did you come to work with Subverse Multimedia?
We’d known Hugo for several years. When we began to focus on what our company needed, Hugo came to mind.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $20,000–$30,000 so far, if not more.
What is the status of this engagement?
We did some spots together in 2015, and then we went all-in with them in 2016. The engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have a good success rate with Subverse Multimedia. We’ve seen a good amount of traffic. We use the pieces that they give us as the primary source of promotion for what we’re trying to accomplish, which is selling tickets. We work with huge names that have millions of followers. Several national artists have actually posted the pieces Subverse did for us, resulting in their work reaching over 500,000 people. This has helped our conversion rates.
How did Subverse Multimedia perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re very good at communicating. If I give them a Sunday deadline, they’ll have it for me by Saturday night. We use a chat tool called GroupMe.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their attention to detail sets them apart. We can teach people a skill, but we can’t teach them to care about what they do. Hugo 100% cares about what they deliver. The attention he gives us is absolutely what we need.
We were an independently-owned, self-funded company when we got into this work, and we found someone equally as passionate as us in Subverse Multimedia. We teamed up with them, and they helped us get to that next level. I’m forever in debt to these guys.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think it’s so much what Hugo could’ve done differently as it is adding on to what he’s already done. He’s pretty well-rounded when it comes to graphics, and I don’t really have any complaints. My recommendation would be to just continue to learn and do a bit more on the graphics front. He’s always accomplished our tasks and given us what we needed, but it’s good to have a different mix.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
When it comes to graphic design, it’s important to communicate clearly and let them know what you want. Some people work better with direction than others. They’re great on their own, but given direction, they can be even greater.
Deploying Subverse Multimedia’s collateral as their main source of promotion, internal stakeholders report seeing high amounts of traffic and boosted conversion rates. The detail-oriented team communicates well and outpaces deadlines. They take ownership of their work and care about what they do.
