Presto is one of the best agencices I've worked with. I've collaborated with them on a couple of huge projects and they hit every deadline, managed expectations perfectly, and offered a breadth of services at critical times (web development, graphic design, and many others). They went above and beyond to get projects across the finish line, especially during highly stressful projects like website migrations and technical optimizations. 

Key deliverables: 

• migrating the website from decentralizes CMS solutions to Wordpress 
• technical optimization and getting the load speed down to very good numbers 
• producing an interactive product demo with clickable sections that integrate with other systems

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

This project was not a success. This was the single worst project I've ever been involved with. Extensive delays and low quality work both from the design side and the development side. The website got done, but it took 3x the amount of time they said it would take and about a year later, I have to do a rebuild because of the low quality development work they did.

Project management was not good. It felt like they didn't understand at all what I was asking for, they seemed surprised when I called out poor design like not using consistent font sizes and weights for paragraph text and things like that. I truly felt like they were gaslighting me. And the project took significantly longer than it was supposed to take. Their original estimate was end of May, it didn't go live until late August, and I didn't give up on them fixing things until early September.

There was absolutely nothing impressive about their company.

There is massive room for improvement in literally every area of business:

The client had a fixed budget, so we proposed Webflow to optimize costs, though his previous site was on WordPress. Collin approved all stages of work. After launch, he posted feedback on Clutch, and despite our attempts, we couldn’t reach him to discuss or clarify details.

We were set on developing our website on Webflow, after couple of meeting to align the vision and scope of work we kickstarted the design phase. With great results, and moved to web implementation.

Our main daily communication was on Slack, we also had calls with project manager, and developer when needed. Alex is great, responding within minutes, always sending clear summaries of next tasks and progress.

We’re a restoration company that’s building our own piece of technology to branch off into a new company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Studiopresto?

They’re helping us with our online branding and design.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created the interface design for our mobile app as well as our desktop app. In addition, they’ve designed our logos and are in the process of designing the website as well using Webflow. They’ve also created the content that we will use in our branding and online presence. Further, they’re designing a PDF template to go along with the branding.

We brought our ideas to them, and they sent back a brief filled with questions about each potential service that would help guide our ideal process. After we send the brief back, they create a proposal in the form of a presentation that outlines what we want and scope of work for their side. They also include the costs for things like further iterations or changes that need to be made in the quote.

What is the team composition?

Lana (Project Manager) is the main point of contact. Stan (Founder) is the original person we reached out to after seeing his portfolio online.

How did you come to work with Studiopresto?

We found them on UpWork when we were looking for a UX/UI designer. The final choice came down to Studiopresto and one other company also based in Ukraine. We chatted with both over Zoom, and Studiopresto was very structured in the questions that they asked and very accommodating, meeting at the time that was best for me even though it was 6am her time.

The other interview I had seemed more nonchalant and casual, and I liked Studiopresto’s professionalism. They knew exactly what the process would be and how to move forward. We also felt that they were reliable and that their designs were beautiful.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $20,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since October 2021. We keep re-engaging with them because we come with new ideas of things we want to do.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re still in the early days of our business, but the level of confidence that Studiopresto’s work has given us in terms of our journey and professionalism is outstanding. It makes us feel that we’re doing something serious here. We’ve seen a big improvement in internal morale.

We’ve also been able to deploy one of our apps to the App Store, which we wouldn’t have been able to do without the design that Studiopresto provided.

How did Studiopresto perform from a project management standpoint?

I speak with Lana on a daily basis. They’re a bit behind us in terms of time zones but we make it work. I usually have feedback from her when I wake up in the morning. We have a good process of ongoing communication.

They’re very good at communication an reliable, as well as open about any delays they’re experiencing. They’ve also been upfront about teammates having to relocate with the situation in Ukraine in as well.

After using a Slack trial for a few months, we transferred over to email, and there has been no difference in communication or clarity. We used Figma and InVision for presentations and drafts, which allowed us to leave comments. If the feedback we wanted to give was more tricky, then we sent them a video message explaining it.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

Even with the situation in Ukraine right now, they haven’t stopped working. We have nothing but respect for them.

Their teamwork stands out. I only speak to Lana, but I can tell that their whole team works cohesively because there haven’t been any delays or unforeseen mistakes. They’re all on the same page.

I really want to show our appreciation to them for their reliability and perseverance during this difficult time for them. We were prepared to pause the project for a few weeks to allow people to relocate but they only asked for two days to respond to items rather than one day. They have a great attitude. They’re the best team I’ve worked with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not at this stage. I don’t have anything to critique them on, as they do really well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be as clear as possible: more information is better than less information. Additionally, have an idea in place that they can deliver to its fullest potential. Clarity in whether you want them to take full creative liberty over the design is also important. I say this because I made a mistake in communicating one of my points to them and it caused a mishap, which prevented me from using the beautiful design they created the first time around.

I believe three, I had one project manager to communicate with, I was given breakdown of all work in accessible format, very detailed and professional.

We are just starting to use the page so don't have statistics yet but the initial feedback is 100% positive from both our team and our prospects.

Deadlines were kept, communication was ongoing, all my questions were answered on time. All while their homeland is being invaded. I don't think I have ever seen that sort of dedication and professionalism and I have worked with developers globally.

We have had great feedback on the new designs after the soft launch, and we are still making sure everything functions correctly.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was good, communication was definitely improved when using Loom videos to address changes or issues.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The level of communication with Helen was very good, even when we were slow to respond. The team has always been on point in the workflow.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only area of improvement would be the communication of what will be editable after the website is delivered. Presto doesn't build their websites in a page builder, so there is a lot of back in forth after the website is delivered at the end figuring out small issues.

Our website was based on Joomla and developed over 10 years ago. The major issues were the cost of maintaining the legacy systems, slow load times and lack of flexibility. We hired Studio Presto to design and develop (code) the new website to look fresh/modern, and use modern frameworks to improve load speed, flexiblity and reliability.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Found them by searching online and reading reviews on Clutch and other platforms.

Initial meeting with our project manager Helen was productive. She described the phases of development and had a well established process including involving a copyrighter / UI/UX designer, communication via Slack and a regular zoom meetings. We collaborated on InVision and comments were always addressed quickly. Studio Presto politely pushed back appropriately on design suggestions by us which were not consistent with the overall design, but accommodating with all reasonable suggestions/comments. They often accommodated multiple rounds of changes.

I worked directly with one person (Helen) who was the project manager although the designer/coding team were involved in 1-2 meetings.

We are about to launch the website so don't have feedback from customers yet. We have had some feedback from select users and our internal team which has been very positive.

Some minor issues with translation from the design to the development (coding) phase, but these were resolved quickly.

We are a company, that sells a high quality plumbing parts from famous and popular brands. Also we have our own luxury products such as showers, baths and toilets. We were looking for rebranding and web design services.

With Presto we did a logo design as a first stage. We left our requirements in logo brief and all our points were considered. After that, we did UX and UI designs for the desktop and mobile views. The deliverables were with the highest quality.

We worked with the project manager Helen, she was our contact person. We were extermely happy to work with her, as all the communication was very proffesional. Helen and all the Presto team gave us recommendations and advices how to improve UX and make the site visually appealing for the customer.

No, the website is not launched yet and we don't know how it converts.

They are very considerate of our requirements and questions. Every wish is fulfilled, and we are always treated nicely with care and priority. First class experience - couldn't have asked for more.

We're pleased with the deliverables from the team. We are now using it with another developer to build out the code and everyone who has seen the design comments on what excellent, hi-fidelity designs were created

The project manager was always available and easy to work with. We had video calls at milestone points and sometimes recorded loom videos. But most of the interaction was done over email.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team did outstanding work for us. They presented several options and went above and beyond to get the look we wanted for our design. Their team has such a wide range of capabilities - every time I asked them if they could do something, they had a person for the job and were able to deliver quickly. The great thing about this group (and I interviewed many) was you have a dedicated project manager who manages the team and communicates often about options and also sent videos of how something would work and the pros/cons. I would highly recommend this agency and team to anyone looking for a great web design group.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The team could have structured the components better and more organized, so that the next code developer could more easily identify the components by specific names rather than generic names.

We had prior experience with Presto from a consulting agency. We liked their work so continued to use them.

We will provide rough mockups of pages with an overview of the purpose and goal for the pages. Presto will ask any clarifying questions. Once we are good with the scope, Presto will provide an initial design. Our team will provide feedback on the design with multiple rounds until we are happy with the final design pages.

We have worked with their point person - Stanislav - on all our projects.

We've been very happy with the process and the end results. We've been able to build a very consistent design across our pages thanks to using Presto.

Very good. The communication and direction that the Presto team takes has been solid throughout our projects.

We think they provide great value to our design strategy. We really appreciate having a single group that we can use for all design elements. This has allowed us to be very consistent over time. They do a good job of being responsive and jumping into projections with short notice.

Not particularly... everything has been really good from a project and design aspect.
