BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the vice president of strategy for Tavistock, an international holding company with assets in many different industries including hotels, restaurants, land development, etc.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Studio Say So?

Initially, we needed to produce a short 5-minute brand film that would articulate the features of our 13,000-acre development in Orlando. We needed to highlight multiple benefits from a commercial, residential, and healthcare standpoint.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

That video was made two years ago, and since then, they’ve helped with all sorts of video projects. They provide concept-to-production services with anything in between. We lay out the business goal or issue, and they help us create an idea, storyboard, write the script, etc. Sometimes, we just need help with the filming and post-production, and other times they start from the very beginning.

They deliver the final product on various platforms and can produce live action, interviews, animation, motion graphics, or a combination. We have Studio Say So do everything video production related.

What is the team composition?

We engaged with 3–4 people on average, and there’s probably 1–2 more people in the background.

How did you come to work with Studio Say So?

A colleague referred them. We sent out an RFP and interviewed numerous agencies, but Studio Say So was the best fit. The quality of their past work was excellent, and their previous partners didn’t have anything negative to say about them. They seemed like the type of creatives who could blend creativity with business knowledge to accomplish what we wanted.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $250,000–$350,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We partnered in December 2015, and our most recent project finished in December 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We still use their brand video in our sales process. It’s been instrumental in attracting new companies to our community, which has been the top-selling community in central Florida for the past few years. The tools they create are a part of that success.

How did Studio Say So perform from a project management standpoint?

One of the reasons we keep hiring Studio Say So is because of their phenomenal project management. They deliver on deadlines, provide consistent (but not overwhelming) updates, and communicate well. Once, for a TV ad, we gave them a two-day notice, and they produced it to NBC standard within the timeframe.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Not only are they creative, but they understand the business side of what we do. They understand our goals and produce great creative that’s also effective.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Don't be afraid to have direct conversations. They appreciate the honesty, so be upfront about what you want.
