44°n gin

Comte de Grasse came to us ahead of the launch of their luxury gin range. They wanted to create a digital experience that matched the luxury quality of their gin, 44°n, and the Comte de Grasse brand. This would be comprised of a website, Shopify site and companion app, designed and built by us.

sign studio

Sign Studio - the winners of our 2018 Build My App competition - wanted to create an app that allows individuals to take a photo of an object and be able to see what the sign-language for that object is.

Hawk

Hawk is a food saftey and temperature monitoring system which is now being used by the likes of John Lewis, M&S and Selfridges.

They needed a system that worked in the commercial environment but was also user-friendly so their customers would enjoy using the product.

mooba

The Japanese ski resort market was ready for a travel revolution; skiers needed specific, on demand and reliable transport to take them (and their kit!) between hotels and slopes.

The branding for Mooba had to stand out from the competition in an arguably crowded marketplace, and needed to be accompanied by a sull suite of custom iconography and illustration.

delivertree

We built Delivertree by leveraging the incredible power of Apple's ARKit. We wanted users to be able to view a 3D model of a real Christmas tree in their house, flat or office to help establish what size tree they could buy, what it would look like and where they should place it.

designlife app

Ever seen an incredible chair in a restaurant, or the most perfect lamp in a hotel, and wanted to know where to find it?

Through the app, users can upload a photo of any interior design piece, and Design Life will either tell you exactly where you can buy it or, if it's a vintage piece, they'll help you get the closest match. The Design Life app utilises clean and spacious design to ensure that not only is the UX

seamless, but that all the focus is on the products.

Harth

HARTH, a home furnishing lettings company, came to us to build a platform that would allow visitors to explore their furnishings and paintings collection.

The end goal? Build a subscription platform that allowed users to view and rent luxury pieces of art and furniture, changing the way we furnish our homes.

Agio

The Agio App is the easiest way to find the best exchange rates near you. Save time, effort and money with just a few taps on your phone.

Using GPS, the app identifies your location and allows you to compare exchange rates between money exchange bureaus near you. One a user books an exchange, the app relays the details to the bureau, launches Google Maps to show directions and generates a unique QR code for the

transaction.

twistar

Twistar is the first consumer feedback tool that takes voice and AI data and applies it in-moment. Twistar is now in it's pilot phase and being used by teams across the Marriott Hotel Group in Dubai and TUI.

The website presented a polished brand image to local governments, companies, and the press. Studio Graphene worked long hours to deliver results on time. Their helpful attitude, prompt turnaround times, and flexible schedule made collaborating with them a pleasure.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the senior program manager and lead on the Flying High Challenge at Nesta.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Studio Graphene?

We needed to design, develop, and maintain a website.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed to develop a website to showcase our program structure, goals, and developments. We also wanted to connect with a multi-disciplinary stakeholder audience across public, private, and third-party organizations.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We went through a competitive tender process and shortlisted three vendors. Studio Graphene was the finalist.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They created our brand identity, designed and built our website, and refined our content. They also handled all the project management. Currently, they maintain our website and deliver client updates weekly.

What was the team composition?

The founder was our main contact. The digital project manager was the lead, with a design team supporting him. Throughout the collaboration, we also engaged with their UI/UX designer and lead designer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The website became the lynchpin for us to convene and engage with government bodies, local cities, private organizations, and the press.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We had a tight timeline and wanted to launch the website in time for an interview on BBC News. Studio Graphene was flexible and accommodating, working with us during early mornings and late evenings to finish the product in time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I loved their great, friendly attitude. They were fun to work with and willing to make as many revisions and edits as we wanted.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, everything was good.

Feedback summary:

Studio Graphene’s polished, high-fidelity designs earned overwhelmingly positive feedback. The team’s genuine interest and robust communication contributed to project success.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a serial entrepreneur.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Studio Graphene?

I needed a solid app development partner to design the UI/UX of a new horseracing betting app.

What were your goals for this project?

I needed to have something concrete when I pitched the concept to potential investors and venture partners. I wanted a prototype with a slick frontend that showed the user journey clearly.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I met with three companies for an initial conversation. After having a deeper discussion with two of them, I decided to go with Studio Graphene.

Describe the project in detail.

We went through a rigorous process, starting off with an in-depth meeting with everyone relevant from Studio Graphene in the room. They explained how the process would unfold from there, including timelines and deliverables.

What was the team composition?

I worked with a product manager, a UX designer, a UI/UX designer, a creative lead, and two mobile engineers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I am extremely happy with the end product. I now have 30 high-fidelity screens that I can use to explain the concept. So far, the feedback on the design has been overwhelmingly positive.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was quite effective. Jonathan (Digital Product Manager, Studio Graphene) centralized all communication so we only had one person to go through. We had regular conference calls and short meetings at key milestones.

He was super responsive. We didn't have to chase them once—in fact, they were the ones who followed up and kept things flowing.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Studio Graphene took the time to understand betting on horseracing, which is a complex and rather archaic subject. I got the feeling that they cared about the outcome. We never felt that were just a project amongst many and that they couldn't wait to move on to the next thing.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I'd love to point to a specific area, but I can't.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the CEO of a digital health app that uses cognitive hypnotherapy to help users struggling with obesity.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Studio Graphene?

We hired Studio Graphene to design and create our MVP.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to use the prototype in our fundraising efforts. We wanted to show an excellent UX/UI design and a solid MVP to potential investors.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

A mutual connection introduced our teams.

Describe the project in detail.

We had a series of discovery meetings at the start of the engagement to map out the core functionalities. Their team designed the user experience and flow of the MVP. They also helped us figure out other details regarding the creation of the product.

What was the team composition?

They assigned a dedicated project manager and two designers. Ritam (Founder, Studio Graphene) was also involved and helpful during all of our meetings.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They completed the MVP quickly and accurately. We now have a professional prototype that brilliantly displays the user experience, flow, and interface.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We worked well with their entire team, as every member was knowledgable and involved. Whenever we needed something, they were available and willing to give good advice.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their strong communication and creativity were their best assets. If any issues arose, they were quick to inform us and find solutions to move forward with. I highly recommend working with Studio Graphene.

Are there any areas for improvement?

More realistic timeframes would be helpful to improve. Although most deadlines were met and there was no major issue, the overall project timeline was longer than expected.

The app is the key part of the sales process and the in-house team is happy with the quality of the code. Studio Graphene Ltd met all needs, while their expertise and excellent communication skills made them a go-to partner for future projects.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CEO of AwesomeSource. We're a software development company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Studio Graphene Ltd?

We were looking for a vendor to help us build a mobile application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially planned to build a demonstration app, but it ended up being a real product that our customers can use. Studio Graphene managed everything from the frontend design and user interface to building the actual app. Our in-house team was heavily involved in the design process, so we reviewed all the wireframes and provided our feedback. They also sent us builds of the app every week. This is an iOS app and Studio Graphene used Swift for development.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Studio Graphene when I was working for another company, so I knew they did high-quality work.

How did you come to work with Studio Graphene Ltd?

We worked with a project manager, two designers, and a developer.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about £30,000 (approximately $39,500 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from March 2017–December 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They built our customer facing app, which is a key part of our sales tool. It's a seasonal business, and the initial phase has gone very well.

How did Studio Graphene Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

The communication was very clear. We had weekly check-ins and we talked daily via Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of their work is high. Their developers were very knowledgeable, so we never had to explain things to them. Also, they're extremely easy to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. We had a very good experience.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Discuss your needs and your budget up front so that you don't have to go through many iterations.

Their team collaborated well with in-house staff and took ownership over the project, consistently exceeding expectations and producing high-quality deliverables. They’re also very thorough about documenting their process, and the website they completed has received positive reviews for its UI.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Comte de Grasse. We’re a luxury distillery located in the south of France.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Studio Graphene Ltd?

We hired them to take over building all of our digital assets after a previous vendor proved unable to deliver what we needed.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re a startup, and we didn’t have enough in-house resources to handle this project, so they worked with our creative team to build a website that reflects our reputation as a luxury brand. They handled the web design for our main site and also used Shopify to build our e-commerce page. Once that was finished, they also designed and developed a mobile app for us that helped customers engage with our products via iOS or Android. They integrated near-field communication (NFC) technology for us, working with our third-party suppliers to ensure that we delivered seamless customer experience.

What is the team composition?

Their CEO was my main point of contact. We also had a dedicated designer and a dedicated developer, and I think there were a couple of other developers who assisted throughout.

How did you come to work with Studio Graphene Ltd?

I happened to know their CEO and reached out to him about our difficulties implementing this project with our previous contractor. It was clear that he understood the NFC technology we wanted to use, as well as our company vision and the changes we hoped to implement, so we decided to switch contractors.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about £30,000 (approximately $40,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August 2018, and the project is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve only just launched, so there hasn’t been an immediate impact on sales, but our site’s been receiving great reviews. Users in our industry are happy with the UI.

How did Studio Graphene Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

They really collaborated with us and took ownership over this project. Now, this may be because I have a personal relationship with their CEO, but the amount of work they put into our project and the way they managed it were far beyond what we expected. They’re good at understanding what the client’s needs are and documenting everything. We also receive regular updates on their progress—the full team uses Slack, but I generally communicate with them via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re highly organized, and everything is well-structured. It’s clear that they work hard to deliver a final product that reflects our expectations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t really think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Spend a lot of time at the start explaining your vision and the outcome you’re hoping for. The more information they receive, the more effective they’ll be.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the COO of AVSecure LLC. We are a blockchain-based online age verification company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with [XYZ Company]?

We needed help creating web and mobile products that align with the recent law from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport called the Digital Economy Act 2017. We needed the system to require adult content providers to verify the age of their users before allowing them into the site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their team has been developing the systems for us using blockchain technology. They are in charge of all the design work and host the platforms. Studio Graphene is also designing the entire UI/UX and creating a smooth user flow. Within the apps, they are building functionalities to allow users to enter verifying information and enter the site with credentials. They're also enabling fingerprint ID confirmation within the app. Additionally, their team is designing tools to allow parents to block over 4 million sensitive websites.

What is the team composition?

Our main contact is Christine (Digital Marketing Strategist, Studio Graphene).

How did you come to work with Studio Graphene?

After realizing our previous vendor was not the right fit for our project, we decided to pursue Studio Graphene. We met them at an expo and were impressed with their team.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve spent €150,000 (approximately $170,800 USD) but we expect the final amount to be higher.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2017 and the project is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The designs have been well-received at trade shows we attend. Because of the strong evolution the product has gone through, we now feel that our brand is highly recognizable. We’ve attracted crucial merchants who are potential customers.

How did Studio Graphene perform from a project management standpoint?

We primarily communicate through Slack, email, and phone. They call us daily with updates and progress reports. Their team reliably follows up with us and we interact well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One of Studio Graphene’s best qualities is their unique approach and thought process. They have the necessary knowledge to make a product stand out.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As their business grows in the future, they’ll need to scale quickly to keep up with their clients.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Remain open-minded to Studio Graphene’s suggestions.

Studio Graphene consistently meets deadlines and adapts to any project changes. Their work has won four product design awards. They’re expensive, but they provide invaluable feedback and work hard to create the best products possible.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and director of Twistar, a customer feedback device that uses AI and a high-resolution screen to collect personal feedback.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Studio Graphene Ltd?

We initially needed a partner for software help. That need grew into other areas such as our website, some firmware, graphic design, and marketing materials.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we first hired Studio Graphene, we just needed them to build a basic Android app, website, and do some graphic design. Their engagement evolved from them, and they’ve built out our CMS platform and a variety of other apps. They created a mobile device management solution (MDM) and have gone through numerous iterations for our website. They also worked on a few custom projects, like IoT and AI add-ons.

What is the team composition?

We work with their CEO, a product manager, and an offshore team of about 3–4 developers.

How did you come to work with Studio Graphene Ltd?

I found them online. We chatted for a bit, and they immediately understood the project and what we wanted. They grasped the challenges we were facing and would be facing within the next year. They were highly experienced and challenged our product to make it better, so we hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent over £100,000 ($133,814 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since January 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve won four different product design awards for the interface, graphic design, and animations. They integrate well with all of our teams and consistently produce high-quality materials.

How did Studio Graphene Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

They meet deadlines and deliver projects on time and on budget. The only time we’ve ever run over is when we’ve decided to change the project in the middle of development. However, Studio Graphene is flexible and lets us make those changes.

We use video conferencing, Slack, WhatsApp, email, and Trello to communicate. Whenever we work with partners who use other project management tools, Studio Graphene is willing to adjust.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Studio Graphene independently pitched us to one of the largest clients we now have. They’re a part of our team and integral to what we do. Their work is always spectacular. They have excellent product management, including dev cycles, UX/UI, and graphic design.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re expensive. It’s not necessarily something they can improve, but they cost quite a bit.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Listen to their feedback. They’ll provide constructive input that challenges the project to make it as good as possible.

Feedback summary:

Studio Graphene’s developments have shaved hundreds of hours of operational work per month. Notably large organizations use this product. Their friendly, flexible and open work attitude has created an effective, efficient and enjoyable workflow.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the co-founder and creative director of Xelba. We have worked on a couple of different startups, products, and ideas in the past; this particular project that I’m speaking to was for one of our companies called Hawk Safety.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Studio Graphene?

We had an idea for our Hawk startup but needed to take it to the next level. Our target was to create a user onboarding system that easily, effectively and efficiently integrated and simplified difficult details and massive amounts of data. For example, one of our clients deals with a plethora of products, employees, and tasks that have needed to be organized in a more succinct fashion.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

On this project—which has run similar to others we’ve done with Studio Graphene—we took our ideas and requirements to them so that they could scope out the initial work. After this phase, we met again to discuss improvements and feedback before continuing once more. They provided software development on a web level, simplifying and integrating loads of data, all at once, while also making this data easily understandable and accessible to users.

What is the team composition?

I have worked directly with three project managers.

How did you come to work with Studio Graphene?

We discovered them via a web search and also know people who have worked with them. They were a good fit for us when compared to other options. We weren’t looking for full time or contract work, which would have been both costly and time-consuming. At the time, we knew that they were a startup studio with a track record of transforming ideas to proof of concept and then to prototype and then to working, sellable product—affordably and in a short span of time—and thus chose to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We have invested around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together on Hawk in 2016. They finished development work for Hawk and have now been helping us on a new venture called Xelda.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The product Studio Graphene helped us create is a big feature that is part of a very big system; therefore, we don’t receive any direct feedback about the developments themselves. However, I think a lot of people love it. Internally, we have many people who praise how much time it saves from having to manually enter in data for all of our clients; for some, it saves probably 100 hours per month. The product has allowed us to secure work with some large companies in the U.S.

How did Studio Graphene perform from a project management standpoint?

Their approachable and relatable attitude makes it feel like we’re working with a coworker, not a contracted agency. They are quite relatable communicators; they establish personal milestones and always inform us of progress. We communicate in person, on the phone, via email and on Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve worked with many different agencies in the past. Studio Graphene has a much stronger approach to how they work. They are flexible in terms of their contracts and payments; I can pay by project, by hour, by day, or even by week. This is not only great for us but also for their company attracting a diverse group of clients. Most importantly, they treat their clients well. They are friendly and know us here for who we are; at a bigger agency, I may feel like I’m just being treated as a number.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You’ve got to be open minded about your project and products. If you have an idea, remember that these people have more experience than you do with making products because they make them all day, everyday. Listen to the team who is making your product and consider their criticism and feedback; they have the most valuable input.
