Barkworthies - Social Media & Content Management P
Avrum Elmakis, the founder of local pet treat company Barkworthies, has been named one of the top 40 pet industry entrepreneurs under 40. Elmakis and his wife, Lauren Elmakis, founded Barkworthies in 2011. They operate Best Bully Sticks and Barkworthies, as well as their other pet treat brands including Paw Love right here in Richmond. They are an online retailer of dog chews, toys, and treats. Barkworthies was created as a new class of dog chews; premium products free from artificial preservatives, additives, and ingredients. They know dogs, and they know how to ensure they are happy and healthy.
Stoqd helped Barkworthies with a clean makeover of their social media profiles and management of their ongoing content for social media. We posted content roughly 12 times per week across their Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest channels. We started by first implementing our Brandstorm process to help come up with great ideas for content. We saw their follower count increase to over 14,500 followers on Instagram. We also write and publish their weekly blog articles.

Petals and Lace Events - Website Project
Petals and Lace Events is a professional wedding planning company in Central Virginia. They specialize in weddings, as well as planning and coordinating other event types as well – such as corporate, family events, baby showers, and more. The company was founded in 2015 by Karla Crisp, who has planned and coordinated hundreds of weddings in Virginia, and to this day she still loves the journey wedding planning creates. It’s not just about the wedding day, it’s about the relationships she creates between herself and her clients. Karla’s attention to the smallest details and dedicating the time to make any event a success are just a couple of reasons many venues in Virginia have her on their preferred vendor list.
Stoqd re-designed Petals and Lace's brand image, logo, and guidelines. We then took the client's vision and designed, implemented, and launched a brand new WordPress website. The project took roughly 3 months. We first started with a 7 part framework brand identity implementation. The client was looking for an elegant but modern refreshed feel to her brand.

Capitol Granite - Website Re-Design & SEO Project
Capitol Granite was founded in 2002 by Paul Menninger. They offer premier cabinet and countertop products and installation in Central Virginia. Through the years he simply felt unsatisfied with the quality of work and craftsmanship in the countertop industry, so he decided to take matters into his own hands, building his own shop which still, today, operates on a philosophy of customer satisfaction first. Paul was previously a woodworker who had spent time in the corporate world as a sales engineer and then sales manager. As a woodworker, he built furniture and cabinets and utilized those skills and techniques to flip houses. His catalyst for entering the stone industry developed while he was doing work on his own personal residence.
Stoqd helped redesign Capitol's WordPress website. The original site was cluttered, confusing, and was overloading its visitors with far too much information, heavy text, and hundreds of un-needed webpages. This is unfortunately very common for many business owners. We believe your website should be simple, beautiful, easy to navigate, and most importantly - it should clearly explain your brand's solutions to your customers. That being said, this project took roughly 7 weeks. Given the nature of the website which had a vast amount of information and pages on it, this can be a delicate project due to the consequences of search engine rankings. It was a very high priority to make sure that Capitol Granite's organic rankings on Google remained intact, which we were able to accomplish successfully.

StarTAK fiber was founded by Micah Mauney and Anthony Whitehead. Combined they have over 45 years of experience in the electric utility industry. StarTAK Fiber is a turnkey provider of fiber optic and energy infrastructure services, including engineering, construction, splicing, door-to-door sales/marketing, drop buries, and commercial/residential installations. They are an employee-centric company with 2500+ total team members across 39 states. StarTAK has held the same executive leadership for over 15 years and focuses on long-term client relationships with major cable MSOs, telecommunications providers, and specialized communication entities. They have served over 1000 communities across 30 project locations. They are widely considered the best turnkey fiber solution in America due to their proven scalability to meet growing customer needs and requests.
Stoqd designed a brand new WordPress Website from scratch for StarTAK Fiber LLC, and the project took roughly 60 days. This is a particularly difficult industry to implement branding and storytelling but we were able to successfully complete the project with the company story and philosophy at the forefront of the design.

Steak & Seafood Direct - Ecommerce Website Project
Steak and Seafood Direct's mission is to use their extreme buying power to bring wholesale meat, steak, and seafood pricing to the public. Throughout each year, Steak and Seafood Direct visits many cities throughout the country and sets up shop for roughly a week or less. At these pop-up tents, they set up their refrigerated trucks and offer great deals on high-quality meats and seafood. They work directly with farmers to cut out the middlemen and the grocery stores to be able to offer wholesale deals all year long. They often have prizes and giveaways at their events, and also offer online ordering and delivery.
Stoqd re-designed and developed a brand new Wordpress/WooCommerce website with integrated payment merchants and product listings so that Steak & Seafood Direct can now offer online ordering and delivery in select states. We integrated Podium SMS customer service system, and the project took roughly 1 month. We also handle all of their digital advertising.

Courtney Lambert Fit – Social Media & Landing Page
Courtney Lambert’s fit brand is all about helping women become their best selves & reach their fitness goals. Many women struggle with making themselves a priority. Courtney understands this, as she was also viewing herself negatively and hardly ever feeling motivated. She felt guilty and was struggling with postpartum depression. Over time, she learned how to break this pattern, get healthy, fit, and happy. She is looking forward to meeting new clients and showing other women a simple-to-follow plan to get their health and happiness back.

Financibull is a financial services company founded by Christian Whitehead. With social security running out and very few companies having pensions, it is now more important than ever that Americans are educated on other vehicles that can aid them in their journey to financial freedom and security. Financibull's purpose is to change the way people make, save and invest their money. They believe the way of retirement is not up-to-date with our countries current state. Before diving into the financial space, Christian spent the majority of his professional career in the telecommunications/ construction industry where he owned and operated 2 companies that have done over $150 million in sales.

Lamha Cumasach – Branding, Website, & Social Media
Lamha Cumasach is owned by Veronica and Tehran Jones. The company is a pregnancy consulting and Doula service. They are committed to making women and their families feel empowered, supported, and protected. Pregnancy, labor, and delivery are supposed to be some of the most beautiful experiences along a couple’s journey.
Stoqd helped Lamha build its brand from the ground up. We first started with our 7 part framework Storybrand implementation. Once we locked down the vision, mission, and personality of the brand, we began mocking up potential logo designs. We designed their brand imagery, colors, and visuals. Once set, we created the company’s brand guidelines that would be followed from here forward. These guidelines are generally what is given to 3rd party companies or partners that the company may work with in the future. This ensures that the brand is always represented correctly and in a positive and professional manner. We then designed and developed a brand new WordPress website for the client, while building their social media presence in the background. We manage, curate, and design all of the client’s social media content to help promote the company’s services on an ongoing basis. These services are something we implement very often, regardless of what type of marketing project the client may have. We operate on Brand first, then Platform, then Content.

Coldwell Banker Elite is a real estate brokerage, and a branch of CB located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. They help countless families buy and sell their slice of the American Dream. They are there for the first champagne toast in your dream home and the tearful farewell to your childhood home. For 40 years, they’ve been proud to help generations of families buy and sell the wonderful, restful, magical place called home–over and over again. They are known for their legacy of giving, culture of caring, and their heart for helping.
Stoqd helped Coldwell Banker with a clean makeover of their social media profiles and management of their ongoing content for social media. We started by first implementing our Brandstorm process to help come up with great ideas for content. Their bio was a bit too crowded and their linktree was not serving as a means to create more client opportunities. It was essentially a recreation of their already existing feed, so we recommended that we replace it with a mini-menu that allows their followers to engage with them online through their blog, website, and social media content. We saw their follower count increase by over 2,000 within the first 45 days. We also write and publish their weekly blog articles.

His brand 'Hardcore Closer' is an online learning platform and resource for salespeople, as well as offering personal coaching and hosting live events. Stewman has founded multiple companies, including the software product PhoneSites, which allows its users to create quick websites directly from their mobile devices. He is well known for his large personality and the Sales Talk for Sales Pro free Facebook group which boasts over 100,000 members and helps business owners rapidly grow their sales through marketing and advertising.

Hussmen Financial – Branding & Website Project
Philip Huss, CPA, CFP® founded his accounting/tax planning firm in 1993 and became an RIA in 2012. Alongside his son, Jonathan Huss, CFP®, and partner Drew Donaldson, CPA they run Hussmen Financial. The company aims to serve many clients financially throughout different stages of their lives. Many larger firms tend to only serve those individuals/families with a minimum amount of assets. Hussmen is happy to help those in that stage of their life who are looking for answers on how they can get their money to work, and figure out how they can save to finally “fill in the blank”. They also love to help those who may not have a large nest egg yet and are just starting that phase of their life. With no minimum account requirements, they are able to provide guidance and answer questions for anyone. Hussmen Financial’s hope is to be able to have their clients engaged in the financial planning process and to utilize them for any financial needs, big or small.
Stoqd provided brand strategy, designed a new logo and brand guidelines, and built a brand new website for Hussmen Financial. They initially had no digital presence, and are just beginning to ‘futurize’ their business. The first step to any great digital strategy is building the foundation of your Brand and your Platforms before beginning to market, promote, and create content for your brand. I am the CEO of a full service wedding and event company. We are based out of Richmond Virginia. We take clients visions and turn them into a reality.
For what projects/services did your company hire stoqd?
I had an existing website that was created in 2015, and it was extremely outdated. Not only that but I had zero control over the site itself. I couldn't make any adjustments or updates.
We hired Stoqd to rebrand our logo and re-create the website to attract our ideal clientele. We also are in a saturated market for wedding planners in Virginia and wanted to draw more traffic to our website.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were currently interviewing other companies for the rebrand throw recommendations. We met Myke at an event and his attention to detail, previous work and personality made him the top choice. Working with someone for a lengthy time, you need to trust that they will be able to understand the vision completely.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
The project began with an indepth consultation call that took around 2 hours. The team asked every possible question to really understand my line of work, what my end goal was as well as who would be my ideal clients.
After the consultation they sent over a form to determine what type of logo stood out for me, what represented my brand and what I wanted to change. The design team immediately started creating different designs to choose from. Once the vision was understood it did not take long for them to design the PERFECT logo. It truly represented my business, the growth throughout the years and was something I was proud to display.
Once the logo was designed they started to create the new website. The complicated part was figuring out the old site information but they were able to dig deeper and figure it all out. They had an extremely quick turnaround with the creation of the new site. They truly listened to vision and then created something even I could never have visualized. The new site is completely different from the former site, very interactive and also "pretty". The team made this stress free as well as fun.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with 3 people total. Myke the CEO, Alex client director and Richard the web designer.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The final design has attracted a lot of attention as well as potential clients. It's very interactive which clients like and easy to navigate. The colors and overall design attract the ideal clients for my industry.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Everyone was exceptionally easy to communicate with at all times. I could message questions and would receive a response within 24 hours. They made sure to keep me updated throughout the entire process and explained things on my level. This was important to me because I am not tech savvy.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I personally was very impressed with the attention to detail when it comes to getting to know new companies. From start to finish they kept me updated on every aspect. Communication is key and they exceeded any expectations that I had.
They are extremely knowledgeable in all areas pertaining to website building and design. They amount of research they did before hand to understand my industry better spoke volumes to me because it's not everyday a wedding planner needs a complete overhaul.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
They really delivered throughout the entire process. I have nothing they could have done differently. They were efficient, detailed and fun to work with.

I'm a Business Development Specialist for an online auction company. We specialize in Estate Sales and Real Estate Sale events.
For what projects/services did your company hire stoqd?
We needed informative marketing resources created for our sales staff to send out to clients and referral partners. We needed several digital versions created for different target audiences and it needed to be compatible with our CRM needs.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
They worked with a non-profit I was involved with and I was impressed with their level of professionalism, responsiveness and the services they provided. They were very helpful and easy to work with.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
I had a meeting with the Owner to discuss what my company was looking for. We discussed multiple types of marketing and advertising resources and once he agreed that his agency could do all of the requests I was seeking, I then submitted a design request to give him an example of how much copy we needed and the design style I liked.
I set up a meeting with Myke and our leadership team to confirm 1st project type and iron out details. The project actually changed, per my company's needs, and the Owner- Myke was very accommodating. We submitted the new information we wanted in the resource created and type of digital files we needed for our CRM.
Myke and his team sent the first version of our info piece, we had a proof change and then we were ready to use. Once the first resource was finalized we submitted another request for his team to create another one, for use with a different target audience.
We were pleased with the process, the resources they provided, and we plan on using this agency for future needs.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked with Myke and Matt to strategize and create graphics. I'm not sure who else was involved behind the scenes.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Well, my closing ratio is great. ha! So clients and referral partners are pleased with the level of information they are receiving from us- the informative pieces that the agency created are very helpful resources and look very professional. It has saved our sales team a lot of time.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The scope of this project was to re-do our store page and make it more aesthetically appealing, user friendly, and better suited for conversions. We also redesigned the cart and the entire checkout process, including evaluation of whether our current CRM (a more expensive and robust system) is really necessary for us at this point.

Myke, the owner, was my primary point person and contact in this project, but I know his team of designers helped with the revamp.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Myke and his team did an amazing job on this project. I honestly didn’t know what to expect because I didn’t fully know what the revamp would look like, but once it was completed, I was shocked at how much better it looked and much mor me user friendly it functioned. I honestly didn’t even realize how bad it was before that. I have had a couple of eBooks listed in my store for quite some time now and never sold one, but within 30 minutes of my store being revamped, an order for one came through!

Their communication is great. We communicate via slack about all things related to the project, and they respond very thoroughly and very quickly. They made sure to address any of my questions or concerns and never hesitate to jump on a phone call if needed.

I think they really understand my brand and know what I need better than I do. As a new business owner, I think it’s easy to try to do all the things at once and get ahead of yourself, but I feel like they truly help you prioritize the things that are going to make a difference NOW.

The Richmond Kickers are an American professional soccer club based in Richmond, Virginia. Founded in 1993, the Kickers are one of the oldest continuously run professional soccer clubs in the United States.
I am the senior manager or Marketing and Branding for the Kickers. I deal with media buying, any aspect of marketing/selling that goes out to the public, content creation, some merchandise design, etc. I wear many hats.

I haven't been here since the beginning when they came on to help, but from what I understand they helped us with SEO in the beginning. Then, more now, paid posts across facebook and Instagram - some things with geo-tracking and ticket ad conversions.

To get the word out/push awareness about Kickers games and other various events we host at City Stadium. It always helps to at least get more eyes on our upcoming games/events if they're not directly purchasing from the ads.

As I said before, I wasn't there when they were first brought on, but I continue to select them because
- They know us by now
- They are just really cool guys and don't seem shady about wanting to actually help us,

The scope involves Facebook and Instagram. Myke usually comes to me before the month is up and asks what our plan of attack is for the coming month, let's me know what worked in the past, and based on my plan what we can make work better.
From there it's about me and my team getting him all the materials he needs to execute on the dates that we decide and how much money we want to put behind each.
What was the team composition?
As far as I know it is Mike and Myke, which is pretty impressive for 2 guys who handle our crazy club and sometimes last minute requests.

We have gotten more awareness about events. We get pretty good engagement from our social media and website traffic. As far as I can tell the campaigns have been well received by our market. I am of the mind that results can always be better, but as far as Stoqd is concerned they meet expectations.

Most communications have been pretty good. There have only been a couple time when it could have been better, but they are always responsive when most needed.

They are not going to BS me, which I appreciate. You always get those companies that try to add more than you actually need. I like to believe they don't do that with me. They are very personable guys that will let you know what's up.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I think more upfront feedback about what seems to be working or more engaging visually/content wise with things we send out. I know I can always ask but they probably monitor it more than I can/do. So getting more of their opinion of what works better and what we could do more of would be nice.
