They were very eager to know about us personally, our backgrounds, reason why we started Antara, our vision for Antara, our likes, preferences, etc. Both of them are very patient listeners and wonderful note takers. They were able to take our unstructured thoughts and articulate them into actionable items. They delivered a beautiful logo and website which completely resonates with our personalities, purpose and goals. We received regular updates on the progress. Communication was very transparent. I thought the process would be organic due to our established relationship, but R+R went above and beyond to get to the root of me message, to make kind suggestions to elevate my brand visibility, and gave me excellent advice and guidance. Ryan and Rachael truly care about me as a human, not just the end result of the website. This wasn't just another project to them, they took the time to understand my concerns, my goals and my vision. They never said no to my ideas, but gave solutions and constructive alternatives if anything I wanted wasn't going to work, was unclear to po;tential site visitors, or didn't flow. I truly felt heard, supported and valued by R+R through the entire process. I don't think any other web development company would take such time and care with their clients.

I honestly can't think of anything to put here. The process was so collaborative, I don't feel any detail was missed.

What challenge were you trying to address with Steady Studio?

We needed to modernize our website and create a WooCommerce portal for clients to order our product.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Steady Studio has helped us with web design and development. The team has taken us through storyboarding to get an idea of what we wanted for the website. They’ve reviewed our current website with us to discuss content. 

The team has made mock-ups of potential web designs that we’ve been allowed to give feedback on. When we finalized the design, they started building the site. We’ve been given a trial environment to see how they’re building the site to ensure everything is coming across as we intended.

They've created a WooCommerce page. We’ve had some hiccups along the way because we’re a bilingual organization, so everything on our website has to be available in English and French. 

We asked for the site to be very visually simple so that our clients, who are primarily seniors or adults with disabilities, would have an easy time interacting with the pages and the menus. We also wanted it to be a lot more visually appealing with photos and an integrated color scheme. 

They gave us a few samples of different fonts, different spacings, and different layouts that we could choose from, and listed for us the pros and cons from their perspective on both, and then they let us take the wheel in the direction we wanted to go. 

They’ve also helped us transition to a new host. The team has offered both hourly and pre-booked appointments to help maintain the website and ensure it stays up to date.

We had documentation on our previous website, some of it with their feedback, but most of it was our own doing. They helped us break it down into more cohesive page groupings because our previous website had something like 30 page links; it was really hard to find the snippets of information that were spread everywhere on our old website. We pulled together most of the copy for our website, edited it, and then passed it on to them, and that was just the text.

Once the development site was fully put together and our staff and board had time to review it and give feedback, changes were made, and then they moved it to a live environment. They walked us through all the steps of how to make updates and changes. They held our hand and did a lot of updates and changes for us, and we weren't confident in them or if it was going to take a long time for us to try to figure it out ourselves.

They created a shared page in Google for us to upload photos for them, and they did the hard work of digging through that photo database to find photos they thought would really shine on our page, they even helped doing some photo editing for us of the final photos so that they were sharper, clearer, or they blurred out areas and modified the photos to make them really pop on our website.

I'm still reaching out to them, and they're putting together some final videos and how-tos for us so that we have resources for our team to make small website updates if we want to.

We’ve worked with the founders, Ryan and Rachel. Ryan has done a lot of the web concept building, and Rachel has done a lot of the building and troubleshooting.

How did you come to work with Steady Studio?

I found them on Clutch. Initially, we had a short interview with the founders, Ryan and Rachel, to discuss the project. Then, we had a longer fact-finding meeting with our director, them, and me. During this meeting, they mapped out what the project would look like, the timeline, and the budget. They also explained what they did and how their process worked, and answered my questions.

We were interviewing a few other businesses at the same time. Once we launched the project, they gave us a very personalized project plan of how the project would unfold, and then they followed that project plan to a T. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $14,000–$15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We're getting people reaching out to our organization from outside our region because our website comes up on Google so well. We also get a lot more people communicating with us via the contact us button on our website rather than calling in. 

In general, we’re getting a lot of verbal feedback from people saying our website is really good-looking. It was an amazing experience for us.

A bundling discount we offer on our product caused some significant issues. WooCommerce wasn't organically set up to manage that, so they spent quite a lot of additional problem-solving time making that feature work for us. 

Additionally, the French language component was very tricky because the plug-ins that they needed to use were initially auto-translating everything, and we wanted to have very specific control of the translations. 

So they actually changed the direction that they were going for the bilingual aspect halfway through the project in order to better facilitate our needs, even though it meant more work for them.

How did Steady Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

The team has stayed on budget and met our rigorous deadline. We’ve gone slightly over the deadline, but that’s mostly because our organization has taken a long time to make decisions. 

Overall, the team has project-managed us more than we’ve had to project-manage them. They keep us on track in a kind and understanding way. 

When they first met with us, they definitely had a project plan put together, including a week-by-week timeline. We have weekly Zoom meetings. We also communicate via email for updates, data sharing, and questions.

They still have a relationship with us, and anytime I need assistance or feedback, they are there. Anything that we had feedback on, they immediately went ahead and started working on changing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’ve found the experience very personalized to our business. All the resources they have shown us to discuss the project and what they can do for us have been truly tailored to our organization. It’s clear they’ve immersed themselves in our website to understand our business. 

They’ve built a relationship with us and understand our needs. They clearly have an invested interest in the long-term success of our relationship and our business. We plan on continuing to work with them for site maintenance and updates into the foreseeable future.

They were so solution-oriented. There are positive things all the time. I was truly astounded by their professionalism, kindness, and easygoing nature. It was a true pleasure working with them the whole way through.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. They did everything 110%, met and exceeded our expectations.

If you’re looking for a team that will get truly invested in your organization and your business, they are the team you want to reach out to.

I'm the president and owner of Pacific Eye and Facial Prosthetics Clinic. We make artificial eyes and facial prosthetics for patients who have lost them through disease, trauma, or birth abnormalities.

We hired Steady Studio for a complete overhaul and rebranding. Our company had the same branding for the last 30 years, with a few updates over the years. We wanted to make it more modern in terms of the logo and have the name be more representative of our scope, which had changed in the last few years. We also wanted to update our website, the primary place where our patients could look up information.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We've done a whole rebranding process. The team has created a brand story with us to hear a little bit of our history and the values of our company. The team created documents elaborating on our story to represent the business and ensure a correct context for our patients. They've done renaming, a new logo, new collateral like business cards and brochures, and a new website. They've held weekly meetings to go over all the content.

We've spent an afternoon together, and they've asked us many questions about who we are, our history, and what we want things to look like. They've helped guide us because we had never been through a process like that. We’re a small family business, so it's been grassroots until now. They've helped us create building blocks to hold on to as we laid the foundation of everything.

They've helped us with messaging and brand guidelines. We had an existing website, but we wanted to start completely fresh, so they've built a new one using WordPress.

How did you come to work with Steady Studio?

I hadn’t heard of them before. I Googled Vancouver-based graphic or web designers and read articles about who was local in Vancouver because that was important to me; having someone overseas would be tough with the time zones. I found them in an article and looked at their website. I was drawn in by their approach, storytelling, and how they represented their clients.

It was important that whoever we worked with could represent our values as a company and show our care for our patients. Based on my research, they seemed to be able to do exactly that.

We started the engagement in May 2024, and it is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of their work has exceeded our expectations; they have been wonderful. The website is very important to us. Patients typically look online, and it’s important that when they click on our website, they have an accurate view of who we are and what we do. We see patients who have many ocular conditions, so it’s also important that everything they do is built for our patients with not-so-good eyes, with high contrast and very clear fonts that those patients can read well.

The team has executed our specific needs very well. They've been open to our feedback, and we've had great teamwork. They've taken what we were hoping for and have executed it very well. They've included our brand story, mission statement, vision, and values on the website, capturing the heart of things while being very informative to the patient and what they need.

How did Steady Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

We've been working with them for just under a year. We've really taken our time, and they've helped ensure each process step goes smoothly. They've broken it up into different steps, and we've spent multiple weeks on each. At the weekly meetings, we ensure it goes in the direction we want and can collaborate. Each step of the way, we've given our approval and then moved on to the next step.

They've met the deadlines. We've had to press pause several times, and they've been fine with that. They've accommodated our schedule. They've gone above and beyond and met with us outside of normal business hours because we must start our clinic at 9 o’clock. We see patients all day during typical business hours, so it is very hard for us to set a specific time every week to meet. They've been willing to come in early, so we've met on Wednesday mornings.

They've excelled at communication. We've used standard things like Dropbox and Google Docs to keep a running list and a live document, and we've done weekly Zoom calls and sent emails. We've felt well-supported and understood, and they've been sensitive to what we need.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We liked the outstanding result of the website. We’re excited to tell our patients and doctors about it. Their customer relations, PR, and communication were impressive. The process went very smoothly. It was a big project on our end, but they were able to lead us through it so that we didn’t feel lost. They guided us, and we appreciated that.

They represented our values and the heart of our company, as well as our product and what we’re creating for our patients. They cared about what we did. They wanted to represent us well, and I felt cared for during the process. They were very engaged. If we had to rate them 5 stars, I'd give them 5 stars. I give them 10, actually, and I would highly recommend them to anybody else. I wouldn't hesitate for a second, and considering what they did their pricing was very fair and it is flexible, we got a lot of value and our money’s worth.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t think there’s anything they could improve on. Overall, it was quite smooth. I liked that they came to our office at the very beginning. They met us in person to learn about our context and what we do. They walked around to capture our environment and get to know us well. That was a good starting point.

I'm the owner and creator of Little Words Studio. I designed the studio and its concept and did all the work. The studio is a play and education space for families with young children, typically babies and toddlers. We do music, sign language, and specialized language programs. It's also a play space for babies.

I did all my branding and marketing alone, but it wasn't my specialty. I had been in business for about a year and wanted to look more professional and less homemade.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Steady Studio has helped us with branding, web design, and development. The team has completely redesigned our webpage. They've kept our original brand but expanded on it radically and created many new graphics for our company, including social media graphics.

We've just launched our brand-new website, and Steady Studio has taken it from 0 to 100. They've done everything for us. The team didn't tweak what I had; they have redone everything for us. Now, we're in the process of talking about what we're going to do next, which will be marketing and email strategies.

For branding, we had a logo I designed many years ago before I even had a business, and Steady Studio was willing to keep that for us, which we loved. The team hasn't entirely changed the logo, color scheme, and general look; they've kept one portion of it and added many more assets.

The discovery portion of the business talked about the color scheme and general aesthetic I wanted. We've done a whole deep dive into me as a person and the philosophy of my business. Steady Studio has given me so much direction regarding our vision and mission. We've done much more than just branding in terms of aesthetics; we've also done philosophical branding.

It has been crucial for our business because of what underlies and what we want to show our customers. The most important part of the branding experience has been discovering our business goals and mission.

We've only spoken with the two owners, Ryan and Rachael. We've dealt with them exclusively and peak to the owners during our weekly meetings, but they have other people who help with the work.

How did you come to work with Steady Studio?

Another independently-owned business referred Steady Studio and gave them high credentials. We looked at how Steady Studio had designed this business person's marketing materials and online presence, and we were very impressed. We knew this would be out of our preferred price range, but the referral was so compelling that we decided to meet with Steady Studio.

Our first meeting was reaching out by phone or email. Immediately, Steady Studio wanted to meet with us in person, which we loved. That personal touch was necessary because our business was so personal to us. If we would work with somebody to help us with our company, we wanted them to treat our business personally.

The team came to our place of business to meet with us. We spent 1–2 hours talking and getting to know each other. At this point, we hadn't committed to an engagement. It was us deciding whether we wanted Steady Studio to work for us and them deciding if they wanted to work with us. It was the best first meeting of any company ever since.

We started working together in June 2024, and the engagement is ongoing. This week is my website launch, which technically completes the whole journey. However, the next step is doing a marketing campaign for my new customers, and Steady Studio will send me a proposal to get that started.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When we posted my new website, people wrote back and said it was fantastic. They were so happy to have a better UX. We don't have any quantifiable measures or numbers, but we can say that the interest increase in our business has undoubtedly happened. We've noticed new customers, and people pass our website on to others.

The brand discovery process is an essential part of what Steady Studio does. It should be considered an equal part of the value they bring. Our business's values, mission statement, and general philosophy are equally valuable. That's what makes Steady Studio unique. We haven't gone through this process with another company, but it's more useful than the end product, and we want to recognize that.

How did Steady Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

Steady Studio is always on time. We set a weekly meeting, which we always keep, and they're consistently ready to go. The team is very proactive regarding things like off-hours. If we have a question we must resolve before our next meeting, we can email them anytime and always get a timely response. Steady Studio often sends me little reminders.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Steady Studio is a dream team. They complement each other well and have skills that overlap and make them unique. We feel we're getting the best of both worlds when the team together. We never think we have to accommodate for lack of skill or knowledge. If Steady Studio doesn't know something, they research it.

The team preemptively thinks of something we haven't considered and comes up with a solution in advance. We couldn't be happier with other two people working with us than Ryan and Rachael on this journey. It's such a personal journey as an independent business owner. I know I have two very skilled, talented, and educated people who are empathetically aware of my needs.

We don't understand many things, and Steady Studio always takes the time to explain things to us and offer suggestions. They've handpicked their customers and taken us from the beginning to where we need to go and even further.

Steady Studio offers a personal connection to their clients. We've never felt we are a company they work with. We think they want to know us and understand our business. Additionally, Steady Studio's professionalism and the fact that they present everything is laid out for you. They always give us summaries of meetings and a document to see the next steps.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, absolutely nothing. We were beyond impressed. We haven't gone through this process before, so we have nothing to compare it to. At no point have we ever felt anything is lacking or underrepresented. We've always felt very well taken care of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be prepared to be pushed. Don't sit back and assume Steady Studio will take care of things. They want to be and need to be involved in the process as much as they are. If you want to go, give them your idea, and have them get back to you when they're done, you should find someone else. Steady Studio intends to engage and be involved in the process as a collective.

Be prepared to have thoughts and ideas pulled out of you. You'll go in a different direction and change, learn, and grow. That's an integral part of the process. If you have a clear idea of what you want, it might turn out that way, but it might not. I like discussing, challenging, and creating new things together.

Then, we've created the content pieces, and they've made changes and adjustments, providing advice on improving the content.

The initial feedback on the website has been phenomenal. The printed materials have also been engaging, and people seem to hold onto them. The materials are visually engaging and well-balanced. When we first launched the website, there were a couple of bugs, but Steady Studio was able to deal with them almost instantly.

They’ve done great with project management and deadlines. They’ve been on top of everything and have done everything to keep me on track. We’ve used a collaborative document where they’ve built a graphic template of the site. On this document, I can add comments to different sections. We've also used email and had in-person meetings.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Both Ryan and Rachel have been fantastic. They've each brought something different to the project. Ryan has done a lot of the art side, whereas Rachel has done the layouts and organized and managed the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve taken control of what they need to take control of. They’ve recognized a few times that I might miss getting them something and have sent reminders. They’ve made everything simple and have reined me in without making me feel ignorant. They’ve helped make things smooth and have taken leadership, allowing me to focus on my day-to-day tasks.

There’s always room for improvement, but I can’t think of anything specific. I might have found some things frustrating, but they’ve handled everything well.

Know your details and what you want. Be more prepared than I was with collateral and copy. Being ready will keep the process smooth for everyone.

I'm the marketing and creative director at eeva, a platform for people to help manage their home life, people, and time. I oversee everything from marketing to branding and getting people to hear about our platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Steady Studio?

We had only ever made our own website with a platform with many limitations. We were getting ready to launch our product as a paid version and wanted to create a website that matched the product and the whole brand behind it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Steady Studio provided web design and development services for our company. The process started with a discovery call, discussing the project and expectations. After that, we created a contract and went through three phases.

We did a few different brainstorming and planning sessions so that the team could intake as much information from us as possible. Then, Steady Studio created wireframes and storyboards for the website so that we were all on the same page at every step. After that, they started building the website.

The team used WordPress to build the website, Adobe XD for the wireframes and page mock-ups, and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create the visuals on the website. Additionally, they worked with an external animator for some of our animated graphics. Steady Studio also offered copywriting and editing services for our website.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two people from Steady Studio. They also worked with an external contractor to help set up the WordPress site and an animator.

How did you come to work with Steady Studio?

Our co-founders worked with Steady Studio on our initial branding a few years ago. I'm unsure how they found the team initially, but when we were preparing to create this new website, they suggested working with Steady Studio again.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $13,000 CAD.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September 2024 to January 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The amount of time people spend on our website increased by 40%. It's hard to tell how many new people are coming to the website because we run ads leading to our site, but the engagement time has increased.

How did Steady Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

We had weekly meetings with them, which were helpful to ensure the project continued and we could give approval where necessary.

Steady Studio went above and beyond with the project. We often had to move the meeting because they needed to catch up on work or wanted to get further along. That sometimes affected the timeline of deliverables, but in the end, we were happy with the results, so it didn't have a significant consequence.

We used Zoom for our meetings and email for all of our communications.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to give a shout-out to the whole team because they went above and beyond what we expected. They provided valuable results.

Also, I want to mention Rachel, a co-founder, because she went above and beyond in training us to use WordPress. She ensured we were well set up not just to receive the website but also to change what we needed to change and use the website as needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're a two-person team that delivered a really high-quality and robust website.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They went above and beyond with the project, which is good. However, it affected some of the deliverables and timelines. Steady Studio could be more communicative about how long things will take and have a better way of measuring how long different aspects of the project will take. The project got extended a few times.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend working with them because they provide a full service. I also recommend leaving room for their creativity and expertise. If clients come to them with a strong vision, Steady Studio can supplement and add to the project creatively. Be open to brainstorming and collaborating.

The team at Steady Studio was always aware of time, deliverables and ensuring they clearly communicated on the next steps, tasks and task owners and timelines. Our teams were not always able to meet on scheduled days, yet the team at Steady Studio was flexible to ensure we still met our targets each week. The project scope increased (due to our own needs) and they were able to still fit this into their busy schedules.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I can honestly say that meeting with Steady Studio was one of the BEST parts of my week. Ryan and Rachel treated us in a way that truly made us feel heard, special and unique. We felt able to ask the "stupid questions" and never meant to feel like we were stupid! They have a very unique capability and approach to their work, in which they truly want to bring value to the business as a partner, not simply providing a service. It is their compassion, empathy and overall considerate nature I loved, yet it was also backed up with incredible artistic and technical skill. An amazing group to work with.

I cannot think of a single area. I was blown away by the skill and talent they brought to our team.

We needed support to redesign and develop our website and update our entire company branding.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Steady Studio rebuilt our existing website from scratch. We had an initial meeting to discuss the goals we were looking to achieve. Steady Studio then worked on our branding, which involved defining our logo, color scheme, and font. The team created style guidelines, and I provided feedback. Once our branding was completed, Steady Studio moved on to implement new branding into our website's design. 

With my feedback, Steady Studio worked on different web pages and developed our site on WordPress. The site had an embedded video, a contact page to book demos, and was mobile responsive.

We worked primarily with one teammate from Steady Studio, who then brought in another technical resource.

Our first project with Steady Studio started in September 2021. We've had three engagements with the team and are planning to work on a fourth coming up. Our other two engagements with Steady Studio occurred in January 2022 and April 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our company grew significantly, and part of that growth was attributed to our website's redevelopment. We also boosted our Google Ads spending because we wanted to show our new beautiful site. Steady Studio's work quality met our expectations. 

How did Steady Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

Steady Studio delivered work on time and communicated well with us via Zoom meetings and email. We used Basecamp for internal project management.

I want to highlight Rachael's (Director) great job in the site's design and implementation.

Steady Studio was very flexible when working with us. We moved around the deliverables we wanted, and the team was flexible in working with me to achieve our project's goals. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although SEO was outside Steady Studio's core business, it would be good if the team could offer a package that included web design, SEO, and content delivery. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Steady Studio will guide you through the process even if you have no experience with website design and development. You don't need to have the knowledge to receive a good result.
