At the end, I was satisfied with the blueprints and also the timeline for the MVP because a lot of consideration was given to my ideas and the mission of the project.

We needed a way to manage the time cards for several hundred laborers in the field. StartupCraftt helped us build a system consisting of 2 mobile apps, and a web app which provides a 365 degree view into the labor on our job sites.

Improve accuracy by eliminating hand written Paper Time Sheets & subsequent data entry. Increase transparency for our clients and our labor. Improve efficiency on the job sites.

How did you select this vendor?
I interviewed multiple firms and received multiple proposals. StartupCraft was the best fit at the time and I would make the same decision today.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
When JWCs work force arrives on a client’s project, all laborers will have the LbR mobile app ready on their smart phones to display their digital photo ID badge and their entire work history. Each project will have at least one team leader who will have the LbR MgR (Kiosk) app on their iPad.
To begin and end each day, the team leader will use the LbR MgR app to scan in and out each laborer. These scans will be GPS verified and time stamped; plus, laborers will review and confirm their hours by signing with their finger – so no more time theft or worrying about lost hours! Additionally, this process automatically creates daily and weekly reports and even creates certified payroll.
What was the team composition?
I am honestly not sure exactly how many people worked on this project from StartupCraft. I would guess more than 15 people but I only had direct interaction with 8. The size of the team and the team members fluctuated based on the stage of the development process we were in.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
This new system developed by StartupCraft completely changed the way we do business. This app was created as an internal tool and it has streamlined our payroll and AR process so much that we are considering changing our entire business model to offer these services to our competitors.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Overall, the project management was effective, however this was an area that could be improved upon. It was not negative by any means, it just needed a different approach. Volodymyr, the owner of the company was our project manager and of course he has many demands on his time.
In my opinion, our project would have benefited from having a dedicated project manager under Volodymyr from beginning to end, to help him handle the smaller details. There were a few people who acted as project manager in title and in practice throughout the project but, it felt like my only constant point of contact was Volodymyr and as the owner of the company he did not have the time to be on every conference call the way a PM probably should.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Extremely fast response time. Anytime an issue arose, you can rely on someone on the development team to respond within a few minutes. This was our companies first time working with a software developer so we had a LOT of questions and concerns. StartupCraft handled all of our concerns with great care, even when our concerns were in fact nonsense.
Are there any areas for improvement?
In my opinion, there is only one area for improvement. One project manager to be on every call from the beginning all the way to the end to ensure consistent communication.
