For what projects/services did your company hire Starborn Media, LLC, and what were your goals?

I retained Starborn Media to transfer my website from another server to a server that I purchased. I also needed my website revamped and "cleaned up".

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Starborn Media is a vendor that I reached our to in another capacity - as President of an organization of Black Attorneys in Georgia. I was extremely impressed; however, I had committed to another website design company. I was not pleased with my company so as soon as I ended my contract with them, I retained Starborn Media.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The most important aspect of the project was that I did not have time to be intimately involved. I wanted to retain a website designer and not worry about it at all. I wanted to also ensure that the website would continue to function and run well after the transfer. So I needed guidance and advice on what needs to be done to revamp the website and ensure that I functioned seamlessly.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Because I did not have time to be involved in the project, the only person that I worked intimately with was Kim. I not only enjoyed working with Kim, but I was extremely impressed with the final work product.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I was impressed that Kim discovered issues that were happening with my site that I was not aware of, and she quickly resolved them. I also appreciate her guidance, expertise and knowledge.

Kim effectively and clearly communicated timeframes to me and explained why certain changes needed to be made.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Do not let the price foul you! They were reasonably priced, but their deliverables far exceeded my expectations.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Absolutely not!

We hired Starborn for our web development, marketing, and overall orchestration of our customer transaction flows.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected this vendor after an in-person discussion. We found them to be personable, professional, and reliable. These were the most important factors to us as we felt that they could represent our brand accordingly.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals and objectives. From there, the team delivered mock-ups of our proposed website. After a few iterations, their team designed an informational wordpress site that represented our brand accordingly. The updated content reflected our company’s services and created a landing page for people to sign up to be a part of our organization.

A project manager and an audio/visual director.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After launching our site, we have seen an increase in membership and development. Over the years, as we have grown, membership and engagement have continued to increase.

We have regular consults before any major launch. This allows us to communicate our vision so that Starborn can execute accordingly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They're always professional and will champion your cause as if they're an internal team member.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They will probably need more staff as their clients continue to grow, but we view this as a good thing!

I’m the co-CEO of Sister Diamonds, LLC, a women's empowerment brand.

What challenge were you trying to address with Starborn Media, LLC?

We hired them to help us with brand management and social media.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Starborn Media does PPC as well as social media ads on Facebook and Instagram. They also set up a Youtube site for us. They create social media content.

The team created a WordPress membership site for us, set up through our CRM system. In addition, they completed a crowdsourcing campaign on GoFundMe.

What is the team composition?

We work with three directors: the CEO, the content creation and CRM lead, and the media campaign lead.

How did you come to work with Starborn Media, LLC?

They were recommended to us by another business owner, and we chose them because of their attention to detail, pricing, and end-to-end support.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $20,000. We have a social advertising budget of about $4,000 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2020, and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The first campaign that we did was for an event called the International Slumber Party, and we were able to get over a million clicks via the social media ads campaign. We also got picked up by 267 media news outlets, and we were able to get 10,000 young women to attend our event. We built our database drastically. Our brand sentiment score was 79. It was super successful from every account.

How did Starborn Media, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, the project management is excellent. They hit 95% of our timelines, and that’s partly due to our aggressive timeline. We use Asana as our communication tool. They communicate very clearly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Starborn Media has been easy to work with, and they handle pressure very well. Basically, they exude grace under pressure. Additionally, they’re very confident in what they're doing. They provide excellent customer service.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It may be time for them to grow and add more staff. The people they have are excellent, but they wear a lot of hats; bringing on more people might help.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust them. They are really good if you give them a vision, but be careful not to over delegate. Share the KPIs and metrics you want to achieve, and let them use their skills and expertise.

What challenge were you trying to address with Starborn Media?

I needed a refreshment of my pages and brand.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I’ve been using an umbrella group label, and Starborn Media wanted to spin me from under that and give me a new look. It took us a minute to decide what the look was going to be.

I write books and do inspirational speaking, so my site needed to offer people an opportunity to buy my books, learn about me, and of course to call me if they wanted someone wonderful and inspirational for speaking engagements.

They took new pictures for my website, designed a new logo, and performed marketing services.

What is the team composition?

I just had Kim (Principal, Digital Marketer) and her husband. Her husband was a photographer.

How did you come to work with Starborn Media?

My consultant insisted on Starborn Media. She said there were others she could settle for, but wouldn’t want anybody else involved except Kim and her crew. We patiently waited for her to come and help us.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent less than $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June–August 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They delivered work with a “wow factor.” Everyone who saw my new website and photos thought he captured the real me. I’ve had so many pictures taken of me that I just wasn’t happy about, but I loved these from the very beginning. Everything he did was great, and they placed them in all of the right pages.

Kim was wonderful and patient throughout the process. I kept not liking this and that, but Kim said we would get it right and would work until I was satisfied. For example, I was getting business cards done, and the font that they were suggesting wasn’t hitting my spirit. They went through so many fonts to find the one I loved.

They also worked within my small budget, giving me a great product. They arranged the payments in a way that benefitted me. They were willing to work with me, and I would love to work with them again.

How did Starborn Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team puts everything in a Dropbox or email. If I send them an email today, I’m going to get a response today.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Starborn Media was worth waiting for. When people are talented, they just are. We were trying to get the rebranding done for six months, and they were swamped. It was absolutely worth the wait.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If it’s not broken, there’s no point in fixing it.

I am a pastor for Buffalo Baptist Church in Buffalo Junction, VA. I lead the staff and ministries towards the vision of God according to the Bible. The main purpose is to share the good news that all who turn away from their sin and trust in Christ can and will be saved.

I hired Kim to design our site from scratch, give clear suggestions about wording\vision, and maintain the site for us as well.

What were your goals for this project?

My goal was to create a simple site that viewers would engage with and connect with us through the content.

How did you select this vendor?

I knew Kim through her magazine, Team Jesus Mag. I used to write for her and noticed how talented she was in developing and content creating.

Describe the project in detail.

I sent Kim a thorough email about my vision for the site, and this is what she did: 1. She created a home, welcome, give, blog, and event's page. 2. She gave feedback (which I asked for) in regards to wording and how to engage visitors. 3. She created a theme better than what I envisioned. 4. She communicated very well and always on time in regard to the project.

What was the team composition?

I was the team, so Kim was a major blessing to me for completing this project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I will share one because it speaks volumes to the work she did. We had to go to online services like every other church during COVID. We live-streamed our services through Facebook and also the webpage. We had 1,100 views of the service just on our website and many more than that counting our Thursday night services. This was just in 11 weeks. If this seems small to you, know that I live in a very small town and our church was running 105 on Sundays before COVID.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. Kim was on time and provided excellent communication and feedback.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I found the engagement, communication, and friendliness most impressive.

I have no experience to provide thoughts of improvement.
