Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the head of marketing at Markelytics Solutions, a market research firm. We have operations in over 50 countries.
What challenge were you trying to address with Star Squared PR?
We needed help getting media exposure.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The team came up with our digital strategy and helped with media exposure. They helped us have a proper story through a research report. They strategized with what kind of stories might do good and what might not work. They also came up with what other channels in PR we should go after and what ones we shouldn’t.
All the input came from them and the CEO, who is a veteran in the field. Whenever we do the studies, we take input from them and what questions we should include in our survey that might get us eyeballs from journalists or media.
What is the team composition?
We always had a senior person, middle management, and a junior person handling our account and inform us of the activities.
How did you come to work with Star Squared PR?
We called in quite a few agencies to present their services. We chose Star Squared PR because of the experience they had with a similar company. They didn’t focus much on the cost as other agencies did.
How much have you invested with them?
We spend 12 lakhs each year (approximately $1,400 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement with Star Squared PR started in August 2017.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
When we started working with them, we signed an agreement. We started with six months and expanded to one year. After completion of every year, we’d extend the deal. The kind of visibility our reports are receiving mirrors the inquiries we’re getting.
People came to us directly quoting a particular newspaper. It’s hard to believe that the VP of a popular automotive company quoted our report in the article that he wrote. All of these metrics help us understand that this PR investment is paying off.
We also keep a close tab on the website traffic through Google Analytics and the sources of the traffic. A lot of website traffic comes through the PR exposure that we get. We have extensive metrics when we take a call.
Every six months, we have a review call, and in the review call, we understand how many media hits we got. We, in turn, look into how much the agency has helped us, what more can be done, where we messed up, and where we could do better.
The CEO has tremendous experience. He’s a true gem when it comes to consulting, helping us with what PR channels will work for us, and what kind of reports we should do.

Their project management style is good.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They can understand market research. They know how a research company needs to be marketed in the PR dimension and how a story needs to be spun to catch media attention.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We are always trying to improve our PR reach together.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Give them time to understand your company. You have to be patient and trust them. You’ll get the benefits.
