Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the owner of Spiel Tech, a mobile and web development, and marketing agency.

What challenge were you trying to address with Splice Global Services Private Limited?

We wanted to develop a mobile grocery app that entailed a complex structure and required expertise with Google.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Splice Global Services designed and developed a GPS-supported mobile app that notifies users when they're near a preferred store based on items on their shopping list. They helped us develop the requirements and built the app for both iOS and Android, using Django and React Native.

What is the team composition?

I have one main point of contact, but a couple of others have worked on the project as well.

How did you come to work with Splice Global Services Private Limited?

I had worked with one of the owners at Splice Global Services in the past, so I decided to work with them again based on that positive experience.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend about $45,000–$50,000 per year on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working on this project since 2017 and the relationship is ongoing. I've also worked with Splice Global Services on other projects dating back to 2014.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As the project progressed, Splice Global Services did a great job of implementing the latest technologies and making suggestions for ways to improve the app. Since new technologies come out often, I appreciate their willingness to keep us up-to-date so we can remain as competitive as possible.

How did Splice Global Services Private Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate frequently through Skype, phone, and email. We also share tasks through Google Sheets and Jira, using GitHub and GitLab to review code as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Splice Global Services Private Limited is one of the most organized, proactive companies I've ever worked with. They take excellent notes and track everything very thoroughly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They were shy to tell us when they got a little stuck on one part of the UI, but they managed and made up for it by eventually explaining what was going on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When working with overseas tech partners, it's important to provide clarity on project goals and requirements. Don't just provide a generic idea, because there are too many ways an overly generic concept could be approached.
