We wanted to design an app that would help health workers who are not trained as oncologist diagnose and/or refer cancer patients in a timely manner using our proprietary algorithm. With an long term vision to build valuable data for enhancement through artificial intelligence.

We have been able to complete the app and are currently piloting in Nigeria.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was very effective. We communicated on several platforms: Email, Slack and WhatsApp. We also held several calls on strategy, and business development.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They displayed professionalism, expertise, and a willingness to support during tech hitches. And more importantly, they were not just there to build an app but they helped a lot in business development.

We engaged with Spartans AI Ltd to build an intelligent chatbot to operate on our fitness and nutrition platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The chatbot is set up on Heroku, and we have a win hook that goes straight into a dialogue flow, and we use Messenger as the front end of the platform.

How did you come to work with Spartans AI Ltd?

I initially found them on Upwork, and I got quotes from them and several other companies. Lior (Founder & CEO, Spartans AI Ltd) was very personable and just represented their company very well. We connected on a professional level, so I decided to go with his company.

How much have you invested with them?

We’re based in the UK, so we’ve invested about £9,500 (approximately $12,200 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

I started speaking with Spartan AI Ltd in December 2018, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve done a really excellent job. I essentially came to them with just an idea in my head and they told me what was possible and what wasn’t, and then took my thoughts and effectively developed a prototype of exactly what I wanted.

We’re just testing at this point, so I don’t have a lot in terms of metrics, but we have a working product which is a huge success. Testing has been going smoothly so far, and their team has been really helpful throughout the whole process.

How did Spartans AI Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team is always willing to jump on whatever task or challenge there is next, which I really appreciate. They communicate well about progress updates and deadlines and are also very responsive on Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I think Lior, in particular, is very good at what he does. His professionalism is fantastic and he’s a great frontman for the business. He looks at problems, solves them, and relays information in a way that sets an example for the rest of his team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Once I had the system in place, I sort of had to teach myself how to use the technologies that I wasn’t as used to, so it might be helpful to potentially provide something for the customers to learn about the systems more easily. That would be my only feedback in that regard.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Spartans AI is developing my company’s mobile application for iOS and Android. They’re also working to create our web app.

Lior (Founder and CEO, Spartans AI) is running the project alongside three project managers. They’ve assigned a team of 7–10 developers to work on the platform.

How did you come to work with Spartans AI?

They were recommended to me through a mutual friend. First, I gave them a small test project that involved developing a chatbot. Considering their experience with iOS and Android development, we decided to hire them for this project.

We’ve spent roughly $100,000–$120,000 thus far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in October 2018. The development process is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Working under a tight schedule, we needed to launch the product at an expo in Las Vegas. Spartans AI managed to bring us a beta version of the end product. We’ll start onboarding people into that system during the first quarter of 2019, but we need to finalize some issues that they weren’t able to fulfill due to our schedule. There were some hiccups at the start of the project, but they’ve done an excellent job adhering to our schedule overall. Their team delivers above average work faster than similar vendors. They’ve achieved more than we expected.

How did Spartans AI perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Slack and 4–5 other collaboration platforms for QA, development, product management, and design. They’re communicative, so we have a good connection with the actual developers working in Belarus. If we ever face a technical issue, someone from my team will work directly with their development team. They’re willing to collaborate, hear advice from others, and make relevant changes. They’re capable of considering new options when fulfilling development needs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate their ability to learn on the job. Despite recently starting our relationship, we’ve had to overcome several challenges regarding blockchain systems, cannabis regulations, and development requirements. Initially, Spartans AI didn’t understand the difficulties that come along with serving medical institutes. As a result, it took us nearly two months to adequately accommodate all of the project’s requirements. Once we got everything organized, they were able to change elements of the project in response to newly imposed regulations. Overall, they’re a great firm and we’ll likely continue working with them in the future.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They need to improve the QA team’s ability to work with SaaS platforms. They’re more experienced with the QA process involved with mobile app development. Other than that, we haven’t faced any issues with Spartans AI.

I'm the CEO of an inventory software company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Spartans?

We have 2,500–3,000 employees in the field at any given time, who often call in to solve payroll issues or ask questions, but our previous system was dropping a lot of calls and sending others to voicemail. It was a mess–we had no real way to track calls coming in or what they were regarding, so we engaged Spartans to build a chatbot tool that would allow us to collect certain data from those types of calls.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Spartans built an SMS chatbot feature for our call center that integrated into our internal API systems. They also developed a ticketing system that allows us to manage those interactions, and continue to work on other related projects.

I work directly with a project manager, who manages a few developers in the background.

I found them online and ultimately decided to work with them because they're timely in communications, provide good input, and I had a good rapport with their team.

Spartans helped significantly improve efficiencies throughout the organization, saving us money in the process. We're able to effectively collect necessary data from interactions with our employees and customers, which has made a huge impact.

How did Spartans perform from a project management standpoint?

I generally send their team a series of instructions through email and we collaborate as needed by both phone and email. They're very hands on and proactive about letting me know where they stand with a project, delivering on time and with enough room for me to review, test, and approve of each feature.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They deliver exactly to specifications. While I could hire cheaper vendors, I think Spartans' ability to meet deadlines or deliver ahead of schedule sets them apart. Their work is high-quality, and they bring their expertise to the table to suggest ways to improve outcomes.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Spartans AI ⚡️ provided weekly (and even daily) email and video updates. The final product they created had an elegant interface and provided the “wow” factor we were looking for. Better yet, these devices can be used for future shows, providing an even better ROI.

Their project management was wonderful. They lived up to all promises made and deadlines set forth. We mainly communicated through virtual meetings and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Spartans AI ⚡️’s responsiveness was impressive. They were available to answer any questions at any time of the day or night. All of their updates included informative videos, which much more clearly showed progress versus simple email text.

We wanted to provide e-commerce sellers with a reliable solution when using chatbots.  

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We posted a job on UpWork because our previous team needed extra guidance on the project. We were impressed when Spartans AI applied for it, as it was a low paying job, so we called them for more details. Soon after, we fired the team we were working with and hired the Spartan AI team for the job.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

They have created the platform that integrates Facebook, obtained all permissions for Facebook development software, and provided more assistance and knowledge to see the product through.

We are still in the beta phase but are on track to reach 1,000 users by the end of the month.
