I’m the digital and analytics director at OnCore Golf. We’re a golf ball manufacturer, primarily operating in the B2C space.

What challenge were you trying to address with SPARK6?

We engaged SPARK6 to help us design our website. Our site was outdated and existed on an older platform. We had new ideas for functionality and what our site could be for our customers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

SPARK6 used all of our old website’s information and data — including orders, customers, and referral and loyalty programs — to create a brand-new website. Then, they migrated that to a new framework with all of the functionality that our previous platform hadn’t been able to provide. They improved the overall look and feel of our brand to be more mobile-responsive and engaging for our audience. 

Migrating to a new platform is a huge undertaking for any company and raises various challenges, like data loss or corruption. Our scope of work with SPARK6 was extremely detailed in that we couldn’t miss a single customer while moving our data. 

What is the team composition?

I worked with a team of developers and interacted primarily with their development lead, Jordon (Developer). He was our go-to throughout the project. We also talked to their customer success team. They made sure everything stayed on track and that we were happy.

We also worked directly with senior leadership — they took a personal interest in the project to make sure that we accomplished our goals. The whole company seemed to be involved in our project going live. They were all interested in exceeding our expectations.

How did you come to work with SPARK6?

SPARK6 was initially referred to us by another company, but we did our homework and looked at their case studies. We also spoke to other companies that had worked with them in the past. The differentiator was their interest in the project and partnering with us long-term. This wasn’t just a one-off project for them — rather, they wanted to develop a partnership with our company. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent less than $25,000 at this point.

What is the status of this engagement?

This was a very big project that lasted 8–12 months. Our work together began around March 2020.

Beyond helping us with the website, they’re interested in providing continual support and engaging on potential new projects down the line.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have full analytics and tracking on the site. The best way to track the overall success of the project is to look directly at the amount of traffic. We’ve seen an increase in traffic and overall sales, not just because the new website is easier to navigate, but also because we have new functionality that we didn’t before. That new functionality equates to new revenue. If you look directly at the analytics and sales, it’s pretty easy to determine that the overall project was a success.

How did SPARK6 perform from a project management standpoint?

They hit every deadline throughout the project, and communication is ongoing. We have open lines of communication through a number of platforms, such as Slack and Zoom. Whenever we have a question, we can reach out to them in real-time and get a response back within the same day, if not hours or minutes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Overall, their knowledge and level of expertise are most impressive to us. In this day and age, there are many website development and design companies that claim to know the latest in terms of technology, functionality, and SEO. There are a lot of fraudulent companies out there that take advantage of other companies. SPARK6’s knowledge and development skills blew me away. They made this project everything we needed it to be.

I do web and graphic design for a living, and I’ve worked with 100 of the biggest companies out there. SPARK6’s development team is probably the best I’ve seen in 20 years. They’re by far the most knowledgeable, professional, and quickest to respond. Their personal attention to detail in our success is the differentiator. 

They worked with us to bring our vision to life, and they really and truly exceeded our expectations from start to finish. There wasn’t any time when we felt that we couldn’t achieve what we were looking to achieve.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Our different time zones have been the only issue — we’re in Eastern, and they’re in Pacific. The only thing they could possibly improve on is establishing an Eastern contact, but that hasn’t impacted their responsiveness. We just have to wait for the four-hour time difference.

Any advice for potential customers?

Express your goals upfront and be passionate about what you’re trying to accomplish. If you have a vision established in the beginning, SPARK6 will clearly understand what you’re trying to accomplish. If you’re all on the same page from the start, you’ll save time and money. Have a clear picture of what you’re trying to achieve, and SPARK6 will help you get there.
