I am the owner of my eCommerce company. I source and import products from China and sell online in USA and Australia.

For what projects/services did your company hire Sourci, and what were your goals?

I needed a reliable and experienced sourcing agent, fluent in English and Chinese to assist me with sourcing from China. Sourci was able to help me by providing a fabulous communicator, Skylar.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

As Sourci is based in Melbourne, it was easy to reach out to them during office hours to discuss the job I needed. It's such a joy to work with an Australian Sourcing company versus someone overseas. No time zone issues or bad connections. No translators required or misunderstandings.

I was needing the services of a sourcing agent as I deal with manufacturers in china on a daily basis but have no one on the ground in China to assist when things go wrong. Sourci was recommended to me as a sourcing agent and I was so relieved to have their expertise.

Sourci was able to give me regular updates on the production. Without Skylar from Sourci, I would be completely in the dark as to how the manufacture was tracking.

I worked with Skylar Lin and she is part of the sourcing team at Sourci in Melbourne.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Without the services from Skylar and Sourci, I would have added stress not REALLY knowing how my production was tracking.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We communicated easily over the phone and using WeChat. We had a 3-way WeChat with the manufacturer and then Skylar would interpret the message to me in English. There was nothing that was too much trouble for Skylar. And what a lovely person to deal with. I'd happily recommend Skylar and Sourci to help with any sourcing requirements in China.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Being Australian-based, Sourci is so accessible. They were quick to return my calls and quick to provide updates. I was never waiting for information.

None.

I am the founder of Innovia in Australia. Innovia is a innovation and invention company with products for housing, transport, cycling apparel and cycling products.

I needed to source a manufacturer and supplier for a newly designed cycling bag that could be mass produced for global market. Their knowledge and ability to translate my design description to a foreign company and translate the details back to me.

What were your goals for this project?

High quality materials, stitching, high quality fabrics, produced to a large order in a set time frame at a cost to my company that would be worthwhile to sell.

How did you select this vendor?

Sourci researched 26 companies in south east Asia, contacted 10 companies for a detailed quote and supplied me with a selection of companies with a detailed report and recommendation for 2 final quotes. Sourci organised samples and delivery which was my request.

Describe the project in detail.

I have designed a shoulder bag that fits into a bicycle frame. I needed to find a supplier/manufacturer that could follow my design and produce a quality bag at a reasonable retail price. Quality materials, workmanship, delivery times.

What was the team composition?

The two founders, one assigned me a project manager based in Melbourne, Australia who organised the work from studios in China. The Chinese team included colleagues to undertake the ground work and respond back to myself via Sourci.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Yes, quick clear, succinct email replies and progress reports when needed.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I'm the only member of the bag project so it was me dealing with a project manager from Sourci. All replies answered quickly and accurately, very easy to correspond with all times of the day.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Approachable team that explained their process and involvement. Intuitive behind-the-scenes work that didn't need instructing.

Are there any areas for improvement?

If you haven't used a service before it can be a little daunting. I would have liked a print out of the plan and the time frame. Sourci set me up with the Monday project plan which was very helpful.
