Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a wine company selling our products in Australia and several other countries. My husband and I are the owners of the business.

What challenge were you trying to address with Soto Group?
We work with Soto Group for their web design, social media marketing, and style guidelines services. The wine industry is a competitive market, so we want to ensure we stand out and have the right look and feel as a company.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, we had some issues with integrating our online sales platform into our website. Soto Group helped us fix these issues. They took over the website integration and developed a style guide for us over the next six months.
From there, they’ve been helping us with our marketing plan. They’ve taken over our social media presence and offer maintenance services. For context, we sell our wines on our website, where people can place orders. Beyond that, we go out on events where people can order through an interface where our products are listed.
In terms of branding services, Soto Group has helped us better understand who or what we are. We’ve since developed a second product line after that. Their members ensure that our look and feel aren’t diluted across social media platforms. Specifically, we sell our products via Instagram and Facebook.
What is the team composition?
We work directly with the two principals of Soto Group.
How did you come to work with Soto Group?
We’ve known Soto Group’s principals for several years, and they had quite a strong recommendation in the web development space. Our team watched what they were doing and knew they could give us the support we needed for our business.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $50,000 AUD (approximately $35,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the partnership in November 2020, and it’s ongoing. We plan to end it in August 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Within two years, we’ve gained a quarter-of-a-million-dollar business. Our website, direct-to-consumer sales, and social media engagement have been critical to reaching this point.
How did Soto Group perform from a project management standpoint?
Soto Group has performed well. If we put a deadline in front of them, they meet it 100% of the time. We communicate through emails and phone calls. They use Asana and Google Spreadsheets to manage the project.

Our website required a overhaul, it was outdated and didn't suit our business. We hired Soto Consulting to update and make the site more manageable, the update would also showcase the work we undertake and the client base we have.

We looked for web designers in the area, and put a shout out to people who had a website makeover. Soto Consulting came with excellent reviews and industry experience. Upon contacting Soto Consulting we were impressed with the professional and personable team. Matt, explained everything and broke it all down so it was easy to understand.

After meeting with Soto Consulting we received feedback on the website we currently had, and what issues it faced. We then collaborated on choosing a theme that would run through all pages accessed. Matt, made suggestions that would make the site more appealing and less clunky. Matt gave us designs for all pages including an updated contact-us page. We could have access to all pages prior to go live so that we could get Soto Consulting to make any changes we required.

We worked with 3 people from the Soto Consulting a project manager, designer and administration.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The end document Soto Consulting provided was very thorough and easy to understand. They updated the website so it now looks professional, is easy to navigate and easy for us to update photos with current work. Our clients have provided excellent feedback to the new site.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Matt from Soto Consulting explained everything prior to changing the site. He provided updates and kept us informed at all stages of the project. Soto Consulting were efficient and cost effective and great to deal with. Communication was excellent.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Soto Consulting took all our problems away and sorted everything out so we didn't need to worry anymore about the website. They were patient with the questions we asked and always explained everything thoroughly. We were quite nervous about updating the website and Soto Consulting made everything easy, understandable, and professional.

No areas of improvement - they produced our new website on time and within budget.
