Branding for a tech startup
Soo Yeah Studio was asked to carry out a branding project for a tech start up that is part of a impact R&D think tank.

Strong Island Fitness Festival - Canary Wharf
Canary Wharf was planning a major fitness event with classes from celebrity trainers and athletes. But
while they had some big names lined up, they still hadn’t defined their own. We stepped in to brand and name the whole event. We chose the simple but memorable name Strong Island, which spoke to
the audience’s aspirations and the incredible location of Canary Wharf.
We then built a welcoming but aspirational brand using clear typography and bold, bright colours that channel feelings of energy and confidence. Advertised across billboards and social media, the event was a big success and returned as Strong
Island 2.0 the following year.
Key Outcomes:
Branding
Environmental Graphics + Signage
Interior Design
Social Media Content

Protein Haus
Protein shake specialist Protein Haus was growing fast, but the company was missing one thing –
great branding.
We worked directly with founderand nutritionist Carli to develop a striking brand identity that reflects the power of the product, and fits in at London’s coolest gyms and fitness events. We also delivered packaging and website designs, as well as art direction for photography.
Key Outcomes:
Packing Design
Branding
Food Photography
Website Design

Creating a visual identity for a growing community
With a popular Instagram account and events around London, Articles Club needed branding and art direction to give their growing club an identity.
To reflect the fun nature of the group, and to help it stand out among other similar clubs, we created a colourful, graphic brand that is influenced by books covers from authors like Sally Rooney and Zadie Smith.
Once we had defined the brand, we arranged and art-directed a photoshoot to produce on-brand imagery, and designed eye-catching templates and graphics to be used across social media.
Key Outcomes:
Branding

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Founding Director of an architectural & interior design practice called Studio Hagen Hall - we specialise in bespoke residential and commercial projects, with an emphasis on aesthetics.
For what projects/services did your company hire Soo Yeah Studio, and what were your goals?
We hired Soo Yeah to produce a branding package to run alongside the Studio Hagen Hall re-brand and re-launch. This included producing a new logo, colourways & font typologies for use on our website and socials, as well as invoice/letter/business card templates, plus layout examples for social media use.
How did you select this vendor?
We came across Soo Yeah as they had produced work we admired for other companies we know and respect, and who personally recommended them.
Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.
Soo Yeah conducted an initial interview to understand exactly what we required from them, formulate the brief, and to get an understanding of our client base, our aesthetic and our visual references.
They then sent us an initial package of options, from which we picked elements to be developed into a final package - we were then able to suggest a few changes to this before receiving the final package (which included Illustrator/PNG/PDF files for all elements).
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked directly with one of the directors.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Soo Yeah provided us with a complete branding package that has enabled us to successfully maintain consistency across all our channels of communication (email/website) and social media (Instagram). It has also saved us a considerable amount of time, as the elements provided in the package can be inserted quickly and easy into any format.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We had an initial video meeting (which would have been in person under different circumstances), followed by regular email updates, and another meeting to review the final options. Soo Yeah were readily available to answer questions, etc without any delay. Design packages were sent via dropbox without any issue.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Soo Yeah quickly understood the aesthetic angle of the practice, and where we wanted to position ourselves visually in terms of colourways, etc. They were able to adapt quickly to any feedback on the new and final branding designs.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
For me, no!

Branding & Web Dev for Skincare Company
“They’re the most responsive and efficient agency that I’ve ever worked with.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the co-founder of a startup skincare company that I started with my husband.
What challenge were you trying to address with Soo Yeah Studio?
We had a vague idea of how we wanted our brand and creative materials to look, but we needed a company to come in and give us some direction in terms of creative materials, including packaging and website design.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Soo Yeah Studio started entirely from scratch with our creative materials. We provided a creative brief and had a few conversations to discuss how we wanted to move forward.
The key premise of our brand is that it makes caring for your skin much more simple and easier to achieve. They listened to our briefing and our product vision and worked from there.
They came back with us with three creative concepts, which we then provided feedback on — we went through 2–3 versions of the branding before we settled on the final design.
What is the team composition?
I mainly work with Owen (Director) and Vanessa (Director); they handle the design work.
How did you come to work with Soo Yeah Studio?
We first hired a copywriter who then recommended Soo Yeah Studio to us. We liked that they were a local company from just up the road.
When we spoke to them, we got on well and it seemed like they understood where we were coming from. They understood that we’re just a startup with limited means and were open to working efficiently on the project.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent less than $10,000 with them so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in February 2019 and our partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
What they delivered so far resonates with what we’re trying to achieve with our product.
How did Soo Yeah Studio perform from a project management standpoint?
Soo Yeah Studio is very efficient and is great at project management— they’ll come back to us with exactly what they said they’d deliver, and they’ll do it within the timeframe they gave us.
We usually communicate over online meetings that they schedule around my busy work schedule.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We don’t have buckets of money to spend, so we needed them to deliver quickly with something workable from our perspective — they do exactly that.
They’re very down-to-earth and easy to talk to. We really appreciate that we can be honest with them. The Soo Yeah Studio team takes our feedback well.
I’ve worked with other agencies in the past and they’re the most responsive and efficient agency that I’ve ever worked with — I have not been disappointed.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we’re very happy with them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
All I can say is that Soo Yeah Studio is great, and potential customers need to hire them!

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the co-founder of a boutique interior design studio based in London and Milan. We focus on the design of commercial and residential properties delivering complete interiors where the details of both the interior architecture and art selection are considered.
For what projects/services did your company hire Soo Yeah Studio, and what were your goals?
We needed a simple yet strong word mark. It needed to feel like us, and pair well with the type of interior photography we commission. Our studios niche is uniting interior architecture with art, through our personal lense. Micaela is from Milan while I am from Toronto and London. These cities have different aesthetic languages that needed considering.
How did you select this vendor?
I have personally known Owen & Vanessa for a while. It was a good opportunity for us to work together.
Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.
We started with a video call, where we discussed our brand. We had some ideas and references-we has also just commissioned an interiors shoot, where the images would be the starting point for our identity. From there Soo Yeah created two different visual directions with moodboards, colours, and deck layouts. We went through a few revisions and then had a similar process with developing the logo. Soo Yeah helped us plan the look of our Instagram feed, provided presentation deck templates for our pitches and most recently they designed beautifully business cards for us on designer paper.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked directly with both directors.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have had such positive feedback from our clients and others in the industry. The brand is only 6mo old and already we are hearing ppl refer to it by name and asking to share the logo for upcoming collaborations. We often have other young businesses enquiring about who did our branding.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Owen and Vanessa are so friendly and hard working. They really put the client first and focus on only developing the ideas that we felt were right for us. They were generous with their time and also decisive with solutions. They hit every deadline we gave them. Communicating through email, video call and when able in person too.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
As a small studio, they complete an incredible amount of work across many sectors. This keeps their skills sharp!
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We really have been so pleased with the process and outcome.

Branding for Online Journalism Community
"It’s good to know that they actually base their design on something that is quite true to our brand."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m one of the co-founders of a business called Articles Club where we read nonfiction articles that’s based on pop culture. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we would host monthly events so it’s like a community of people who share the same interest in journalism writing.
What challenge were you trying to address with Soo Yeah Studios?
We wanted our brand to resonate with our audience so we hired Soo Yeah Studios for art direction and overall branding to elevate our company on social media.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We needed our design to be compatible with Instagram and we want it to feel inclusive for all genders even though it’s a community that’s geared towards women.
We brought in Soo Yeah Studios to consult us on the direction of our brand so we can better brief the designer that we were going to hire for the project. They’ve given us all of the branded templates for us to use. Whenever we have new launches or need something executed in a creative way, we use their services. They help us figure out if something is right or wrong from a creative perspective.
How did you come to work with Soo Yeah Studios?
We had briefed a couple of designers before working with them and it was a friend of mine who thought they were the best people because of the creative solution they could bring to us.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing partnership started in July 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We had around 200 followers on Instagram before working with them. After two months of working together we nearly have 700 followers, which is a massive increase compared to when we first started. The branding is more appealing this time around and we have their guidance to help with different kinds of posts.
How did Soo Yeah Studios perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re great at communicating mainly through emails. To map the work out, we have a couple of meetings with Vanessa. This is good for us because we’re quite talkative and communicative people.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We are impressed with their approach to branding, which is taking inspiration from great writers such as Zadie Smith. It’s good to know that they actually base their design on something that is quite true to our brand.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have an answer on what they could improve because so far, it’s been great working with them. They always deliver on something we didn’t even know we needed. Everything is running smoothly.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would say that for anyone going in to work with an agency like theirs, the best way is to give them a clear brief so then you’ll have less of a back and forth. That’s based on my experience working with other designers and them.

Marketing & Branding Services for Outlet Business
"They understand what’s happening globally from a brand perspective."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a creative director consultant for VIA Outlets, which is a European outlet business with 11 assets throughout Europe.
What challenge were you trying to address with Soo Yeah Studio?
We didn’t have marketing campaigns.
What was the scope of their involvement?
My background is in brands and retail, and their background is in brands and graphics. We combine our experiences to develop marketing campaigns.
We built marketing campaigns together. Their team also helped develop a creative thread through our brand, creating a cohesive look and feel.
What is the team composition?
I directly work with two people from Soo Yeah Studio.
How did you come to work with Soo Yeah Studio?
We sought a young, dynamic creative agency. As a smaller business, we didn’t want to partner with a big agency. I reached out to a colleague who recommended Soo Yeah. We chose them because they’re a smaller business too. We could actually blend the two businesses.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested about £250,000 pounds (approximately $265,000 USD) in their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in October 2018, and it’s an ongoing relationship.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their work yields massively positive results. When we started together, we didn’t have marketing campaigns. Since beginning to work with Soo Yeah, we've run marketing campaigns.
By developing a creative thread, they helped bring consistency to the group. Their team helped to deliver a look and feel that’s current and relevant for our brand partners.
How did Soo Yeah Studio perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate via WhatsApp and phone calls but also have in-person meetings. Project management is one area where a smaller team is advantageous. We didn’t have the luxury of massive lead times, and their team worked quickly and delivered on time. We've evolved our processes over our time working together.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They understand what’s happening globally from a brand perspective. Our relationship evolved over time, and we established a rhythm and routine for working on projects. Their team’s agile in their client base management.
Are there any areas they could improve?
As we just started out, it wasn’t clear what we wanted because we didn’t know what we wanted. As our timelines were small, they likely felt a bit under pressure. However, their team always delivered on time. They developed ways to better manage their clients and clearly communicate timelines.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Firstly, give them a try. Secondly, give them a clear brief.

Full brand design
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Soo Yeah's portfolio of work is diverse in style and design which is quite rare, as many agencies we looked at during the selection stage appeared to have a signature tone that ran through all of their work.
