A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We produce women's athleticwear. I'm the owner.
What challenge were you trying to address with Something About Marketing?
I hired them to help build my website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built everything from scratch and added a lot of features. The site is linked to Shopify, and there are a variety of layouts that customers can use. I had very little to do with the process, but they really understood the design and functionality I wanted.
What is the team composition?
I work directly with one point of contact.
How did you come to work with Something About Marketing?
I found them through a Google search. I spoke with several companies, but ultimately decided to hire them.
How much have you invested with them?
I spent about $1,000 on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June 2019, and they completed the site in July. We launched the brand in early August.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The website works wonderfully, and there are no bugs. They still keep in touch with me, and they check in to make sure everything functions properly. I had trouble with other companies in the past, and I'm so pleased with their level of service.
How did Something About Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
They're really passionate about what they do, and they're great communicators. I can text them at any time, day or night, and they're always there for me. Most of our communication was through text or phone.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They provide such wonderful service. Their energy is great, and we established a wonderful relationship.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I have nothing bad to say about them. They're really amazing, and they do good work. I refer them all the time.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They're really easy to work with, and I don't have any specific recommendations for people who hope to work with them.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m a director at a Christian broadcasting corporation. I head the Russian and Ukrainian division.
For what projects/services did your company hire Something About Marketing?
We were looking to expand our social media efforts and hired them to help us. We needed an Instagram account and some targeted followers, but we didn't know where to start. Something About Marketing said they could help, and we believed them. They took the time to understand our needs and audience.
What were your goals for this project?
First, we needed to establish a following on Instagram. We also wanted to work with a partner that could manage our social media while engaging with our audience.
How did you select this vendor?
We filled out a free social media audit and loved what Something About Marketing showed us, so we hired them after the second meeting.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
Something About Marketing asked us various questions about our goals to get a sense of what we were trying to accomplish. With that information, they suggested a huge list of goals that expanded on what we told them, which was very helpful. They showed us a few posts that planned to use, and we choose the options we liked. They were very hands-on, targeting our audience perfectly and increasing our followers significantly.
What was the team composition?
I spoke with their CEO and with one of the social media specialists that came to visit our office.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The engagement rate of their posts were very high. We would get 1,000 likes per post with about a hundred comments, so we knew that they were real. We didn't get any random accounts, but rather only people who wanted to follow us. Something About Marketing didn’t buy any followers, which is what other vendors were offering. Instead, they produced over 10,000 followers in just six weeks, which we never expected.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Once they completed the project, they happily handed over the account and showed us how to create posts by ourselves. It was a very easy workflow.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We found that they created a plan based on our needs and not based on what they wanted for us. This was extremely helpful because our industry is specific. Overall, we’re amazed at how understanding they were and are still impressed with the results that came from their listening.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I would love to have their services for free, but that's not realistic. Overall, I would say there’s nothing for them to improve.
