We were developing a custom-made experimental platform for an experiment (RCT) we are running. Due to the size of the project, we have decided to outsource part of the work to a third party. The key requirements were developing from scratch the platform's back-end and building certain functionalities in the front-end that allow us to gather the necessary data from our experiment's participants.

As my team and I are computer scientists, we have written down a detailed list of the things that need to be done. Thus, there was a clear definition of measurable outcomes and detailed description of the task which had to be implemented.
