• We took part in developing a mobile app that enables vehicle owners to rent out bicycles or scooters to other users. The app was designed to allow users to locate and unlock bikes or scooters via the app, track their ride times, and make payments for the rental. Overall, we worked collaboratively with the client to create a functional app that met their needs.

We were impressed with their friendly and cooperative approach, which contributed to the successful completion of the project. And of course, the quality of their code was at a high level.

The work with maps, specifically in clustering, vector graphics, geometry, and geolocation took a little more time and strength but we successfully overcame it.

  • the capability for users to create a personal trovr user profile,
  • scan a code provided by recycling machines,
  • either “bank” those trovr credits for later redemption or redeem immediately with offers presented to the user on the phone at the point of recycling.
  • set up bank details so that monetary redemptions can be paid directly into the users bank account.
  • Set up a chosen good cause that funds can be donated to.
  • the capability for the user to select an offer within the trovr App and to present a valid and scannable offer code on screen to a store assistant in return for a discount on the relevant product.

Agile approach and with a nothing is impossible attitude. Deadlines consistently hit.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The utter determination to deliver in spite of their own real world challenges. These guys are based in West Ukraine yet not once did this become an issue during the project. Before deciding to hire them I asked myself lots of questions; Was the comms infrastructure robust? What if there was an escalation in the Russian Invasion? Would they be able to commit the time we needed to fulfill our project? They clearly were the right choice in any other circumstance, so could I set aside the current situation and risk it?

I decided to be very open with them and explained my concerns. They completely understood and explained the situation in the West and wanted to impress upon me that Western Ukraine is very much open for business. I was humbled by the strength of character and resilience they showed, and I was left in no doubt these were my guys.

None that springs to mind. We will definitely be considering Softbee for our next phase of development.

I'm a CTO of Demigos, a software development company with a focus on building world-class custom IT solutions for healthcare startups and companies.

For what projects/services did your company hire SoftBee, and what were your goals?

SoftBee developed the front-end for both IOS and Android mobile applications and the accompanying Management Admin Panel. They successfully integrated features such as web-mobile synchronization, push notifications, location-based services, and user profile creation.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

SoftBee was hired through a startup project aimed at finding tech talent in Ukraine, and they quickly established a positive working relationship.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope of SoftBee's involvement was to develop both IOS and Android mobile apps from scratch using React-Native and implement deep-linking, push notifications and location tracking. They were using external tools for automating the build and deployment process to app stores. They were also responsible for the standard front-end work on the dashboard. The focus was on delivering high-quality, functional mobile apps with the desired features and capabilities.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The team we worked with consisted of two highly skilled React Native developers who handled complex tasks, coding, and testing throughout the development process, using modern technologies. There was also one senior front-end developer who worked on the admin panel and CRM system, doing coding, testing, and updating as needed. All developers were flexible and adapted well to our changes.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The product, both mobile and web solutions, was launched successfully and received positive feedback from users for the pleasant, easy to use and functional user interface. The team performed well and we decided to continue working with them to maintain the solution.

SoftBee performed well in project management by being proactive, quick to respond and flexible. We used Jira and Slack as communication tools in the project.

The team at SoftBee was highly impressive in their level of engagement and professionalism. Despite being a small team, they were able to demonstrate extraordinary efficiency in their work. The communication was also well-organized and streamlined, making it easy to stay on top of project progress. Overall, I was very impressed with the team at SoftBee and the work they delivered.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only improvement opportunity identified was the lack of end-to-end testing during the project with SoftBee. However, this issue was addressed in later projects.

We were developing a custom-made experimental platform for an experiment (RCT) we are running. Due to the size of the project, we have decided to outsource part of the work to a third party. The key requirements were developing from scratch the platform's back-end and building certain functionalities in the front-end that allow us to gather the necessary data from our experiment's participants.

As my team and I are computer scientists, we have written down a detailed list of the things that need to be done. Thus, there was a clear definition of measurable outcomes and detailed description of the task which had to be implemented.

The time management was good. There is always room for improvement but they worked sequentially, diligently and delivered everything they were asked for.
