The Social Nerds were expected to run Meta and Amazon ads using tailor-made targeting to reach potential customers for books. They were expected to deliver a certain number of book sales a day and grow that number as time passed.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

This is the first negative review of any product or service I have written, and I only did it owing to an extremely unfortunate experience. The Social Nerds' proposal – on the basis of which I signed my contract – offered a tailored approach to ad campaigns for my company based on their expertise. Instead the initial specifics of my small business, which had been typed out in meeting minutes by the person with whom I initially spoke, were completely ignored by their co-worker. In turn, another co-worker was also not made aware of them and, as a result of this, I lost over $400 in ad spend and generated around $8 worth of sales. I made multiple attempts to assist various members of this company in their practice but was told on many occasions that theirs was the best practice despite it being an extremely broad targeting in ad campaigns ill-advised by the vast majority of experts in my field and others’. 
My e-mails and concerns went ignored despite the failing strategy which, in my opinion, was no strategy at all, but a haphazard guess even a newcomer to ad optimization couldn’t have suggested. Most of my questions were not answered. Over two months I got the feeling no one at this business cared about the specific needs of my company, and were merely hoping I would keep on spending till we struck gold. No one ever proposed a remedy that had in mind the niche nature of my business. Instead, theirs was a “one size fits all” method they claimed would work wonders for anyone. This was the exact opposite of what I had been told prior to signing the contract. Once I had signed, certain members of this company – those responsible for the most crucial part of the ad campaigns – did not implement efforts to make the promised custom plans for my company. This is just my impression, and it’s based on one experience. But to my mind, there was a great deal of negligence and unprofessionalism in the practices of The Social Nerds.

The only positive part of the company was the ad creation, which was of acceptable quality. However, it took a long time for this to be finished - especially considering ours was a onetime three-month contract. My marketing needs were not met as very few sales took place as a result of their ads, and awareness likewise did not seem to rise.

I cannot speak for all members of this company as I didn't work with many, but two of the people I collaborated with did not seem to care about tailoring a campaign specifically to my business's needs. I never felt the necessary research for the ads targeting had been done.

Fred Baker is the project manager I am constantly in talks with. Fred goes beyond any of my company's needs and is constantly available if I ever need anything. He also offers advice and I am hoping our sales go to the next level so we can have the social nerds do more for our company.

Not just fred but the whole team is amazing and I have had 3 other SEO companies/ Marketing companies that have never amounted to anything like the social nerds have for our company. I hope to continue to work with them for the long term.

Reliability and honesty everyone in the past has told me in less than 3 months you will see so and so. The social nerds helped me understand how SEO actually works and how the process works. Not just this but also they're always available for me.

When I signed up at the beginning with other marketing/SEO companies its all sunny weather a month in they dismissed you and barely want to get on a call with you.But never with Fred and the team I have, even Rob and David Morgan whenever I have questions they always write back or offer to get on a call with me I freaking love that!

After that, everything has been going smoothly, and I really appreciate the team for being so professional and getting things done on time.

While they have done a professional job in setting everything up, I had a preference for more frequent guidance, ideally at least twice a week. Their usual update calls came after 5-10 days, and I believe there's room to shorten the timeframe for sharing project status and providing guidance. More frequent communication would be beneficial in keeping everyone on the same page and ensuring a smoother process.
