We relied on Snowy Peak Films to crew our shoot and cover production. The team was indispensable in reaching out to contacts and staffing the production. They managed as much as they could with our crew on that end.

We refined our vision with them during preproduction. We came up with an idea, and they helped us realize it. We shot a short documentary piece about a guy who was in a rodeo and was trampled by his horse. Thankfully, a triage doctor was on-site and saved his life. It was an emotional reunion.

This project required a lot of sensitivity. Their crew was professional and excellent at their craft. We came into a significant live event with many livestock, and they could get thoughtful documentary shots within one day.

Snowy Peak Films also connected us with a local editor, and we passed notes back and forth, streamlining the process.

Some of the team members were independent contractors, but they were the ones who connected us with them. The independent contractors who worked on the film included camera people, assistant cameras, grips, and gaffers.

A couple of them had worked with Snowy Peak Films, but most of them were local contacts with their own professional relationships with Snowy Peak Films. In total, there were about 8–9 people.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don't have any metrics, but we passed the video on to our customer, who was pleased with the end product. It came together to be a compelling piece.

How did Snowy Peak Films perform from a project management standpoint?

Snowy Peak Films was very communicative. I had worked as a freelancer in TV and film, so I knew it required a lot of quick thinking. The team was excellent at coming in and working with us.

We had tiny areas where we tried to make the shoot work, and they were very responsive and timely. Troy was instrumental in bringing the crew along and getting them connected. As someone based in Indianapolis, I wouldn't have had the context in that local market to know who would be available and suitable for shooting a project like this.

For communication, we used Google Workspace. We shared files using Frame.io, which is suitable for revisions and edits. The editor could post the most recent edit, and we could go to some of that version.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to give a shout-out to Troy. He helped us throughout the production and got people attached. I also want to thank Lauren. She was indispensable. We passed different versions, notes, and revisions for about three weeks. That whole end of the project wouldn't have been possible without her.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Snowy Peak Films was highly responsive. We were put in a bind where we had to organize many things in a very short time. Snowy Peak Films' resourceful team pulled everything together in under two weeks. They were very responsive, fast on their feet, and thorough.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were some miscommunications and handoffs on the day of the shoot. I don't think they were necessarily working on projects that had that many moving pieces. There were some shoots where you had private areas, but this was a live event. However, it was understandable that that frazzled them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Snowy Peak Films is excellent. They're a market leader in terms of being able to put together a package for a low price point. They're speedy and reliable. A strong pitch to connect with them is the best way to go. They're very gifted in managing the project and bringing in professionals. Coming to them with a strong idea is the best approach.

Project Overview: We're seeking a professional video production team to capture and produce a series of videos for our annual State of the City address on February 27. The project includes an energetic marketing video and seven strategic priority clips, with a focus on community engagement and showcasing our city's growth.

Deliverables:  The successful contractor will provide video support for pre- and post-production. Our team will coordinate with the contractor and interviewees to schedule recordings, interviews, and locations. The city will also provide an additional high-quality video we have on file to support the message and projects prior to selected contractors work to ensure we use their time effectively and efficiently. We own all rights to video captured including b-roll and all final seven videos.

All videos should highlight our city as an upcoming city that is open for business and on the cusp of significant change. The tone is upbeat and exciting, influential and inspiring. We seek to connect with various community audiences and stakeholders.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Much of the marketing success from the project will be determined later. There was already immediate word-of-mouth praise and recognition from the videos. The event in which they were showcased received more positive marks than in years past without the videos.

Snowy Peak was VERY responsive to our idea pivots and feedback. When new pieces were added to the scope of work, they were able to accommodate and work around our scheduling to get the project done on time and still meet our high standards.

I was impressed with their ability to adjust to our changing standards and guidelines. When we needed a bit more video, they accommodated. They were responsive, open to feedback and adaptable. Those are some of the most valuable characteristics in a partner vendor. I can't think of ways they could have improved upon that.

Snowy Peak Films worked with the Food Bank to develop and write a script that would explain how the nonprofit's SNAP Outreach team helps people get signed up for SNAP benefits. Once the script was complete, they created a series of animated images to show people needing SNAP assistance getting connected with the Food Bank.

They also coordinated a voiceover actor to read the script and inputed Spanish subtitles. The completed project included two videos, one with Spanish subtitles and one without.

All of the deliverables will include a custom motion graphics package (opening & closing graphics + Lower Third titles) and royalty-free music. All videos will be delivered in a web-friendly MP4 format. Raw footage will also be provided upon request. 

We will use a combination of Tripod, Gimbal (steady movement), and Handheld techniques with a focus on capturing cinematic footage. We will provide lighting and audio equipment for interviews and utilize natural lighting for the B-Roll footage. A mix of footage with regular frame rates and high frame rates (for slow motion) will be captured.

Very responsive and informative. Willing to be flexible to accommodate last minute requests while being transparent about impact to the budget or project schedule. Great communicators. A lot of the deadlines were dependant on us or the interviewees, but they were very good about keeping us informed so we were aware of what was going on.

The quote was very competitive with other companies we considered but the production quality was so much better than I could have imagined, I feel like it was a great deal!

Their artistic vision. They took what could be very dry content and weaved it into a compelling and moving video that perfectly highlighted the value we bring to our stakeholders and the importance of our organization in the industry. My whole organization was beyond impressed by the final product.

We hired Snowy Peak to help put together a set of films that explain our company's founding story. Our marketing team lead organized who was to be interviewed from our company and supplied the prompts that they were to answer. When we gathered with Snowy Peak for the filming, they took care of the setup, directing, and filming of the interviews. They also were able to go out into the field and take b-roll of certain aspects of what our employees do everyday for work.

This b-roll was edited into the interviews and founder stories to make great videos! Snowy Peak handled all of the editing afterwards, all while we coordinated with them on parts of the interviews and the information that needed to be in the videos.

Snowy Peak's team complements each other skills. Their Director of Photography has a unique eye, and the production guys align on aesthetic and effectiveness of marketing. The entire team is friendly and easy to work with.

I am especially grateful to the editing team who transcribed a video on the fly for a reshoot (no joke, within 10-minutes). The Snowy Peak team cares about customer happiness and will go above and beyond to deliver. They are patient, creative, and generally very adaptable.

I'm distinctly impressed by how quickly they learned about our industry (emerging tech, generally ill-understood) and immediately captured how to market our strengths as a company. We worked with the team on our project for over a year, and it was a pleasure to get to know them. I would 10/10 recommend hiring them for a shoot.

I’m the owner of Cech Press. I was hired as a consultant to help a group of ad producers market their new water resources program through public information.

What challenge were you trying to address with Snowy Peak Films? 

Our main business challenge was public awareness. We needed Snowy Peak Films to create four videos explaining how our vegetable growers work to become more sustainable with their groundwater and resources.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I had never done video production before, so Snowy Peak Films was involved in the entire process. They created four three-minute videos that included drone aerial shots, scenery shots, and close-up shots for our interviews.

They helped with storyboarding, scriptwriting, photography, and production. The team set up two shoots in Colorado. They filmed the content using their own equipment and set up the microphones and lighting during the shoots. For postproduction, they handled video editing, audio mixing, and also did some voiceover work.

We worked with five team members, including two drone operators and other production personnel.

Snowy Peak Films was extremely helpful and produced wonderful, professional videos. They had high-quality equipment and personnel. The videos include beautiful scenery shots and outstanding close-up shots. 

We haven’t launched them publicly, but the response from our group’s board members has been extremely positive. Snowy Peak Films was a tremendous partner, and I’d hire them again in a heartbeat. They exceeded our expectations, and we’re very happy with their work.

Snowy Peak Films involved me in the entire filmmaking process. They guided me through each step and answered all my questions. Furthermore, they were receptive to suggestions, which I appreciated. What was the scope of their involvement?

Snowy Peak Films is our go-to partner for commercial video production. Regarding the process, we work together to develop a shot list, and they map out everything in terms of locations and people that are going to be in the shots. It’s a collaborative effort where they even take the time to attend some of our events and learn about our community. So far, they’ve made four commercials that are 15–30 seconds long — some short clips are summarized versions of the long ones.

In addition, they provide various music options for us to explore for each commercial they make, and they also take care of the voiceover and the audio mixing. All the commercials are different because they ensure that every aspect is appropriate and matches the excitement and enthusiasm we want to convey.

We’re currently working with them on a recruitment profile video using the footage they already have from previous commercials to make a longer video.

Since we started working with Snowy Peak Films, our YouTube subscribers have increased tremendously. In addition, our display ads have had over 1 million impressions in the past year, and our streaming commercial impressions are nearly 10 million. Moreover, our website users drastically grew by 250%, and it keeps doubling every year. We use the material they deliver on our social media, for OTT streaming, and in our public access channel through broadcasting.

Additionally, our community partners want to use our commercials to promote as an entity. Overall, the quality of Snowy Peak Films aligns with our image and brand, making a difference within our community and meeting our expectations.

They stay on budget and deliver work on time. Their team also has a great organized system in place. Regarding tools and communication, we use monday.com, which is very helpful.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Snowy Peak did video production for us. We started by giving them some ideas of who we are as a company, filled out a questionnaire they gave us, and told them who we wanted to target with this video. Consequently, we had back-and-forth feedback and chose people to interview. After that, they scheduled visits to our different locations to film and get interviews from our team to tell what we do and who we are not only as a company but also as people — they took a lot of notes and had really good questions for that process.

Currently, we’re still working on the script and other areas of the video.
