We hired Snovi Studios to create an explainer video for our Everlance Business product to help prospects and customers quickly understand how it works. Our goal is to make it clear how we can help their business and interest them to sign up for our free product or schedule a meeting with our sales team.

I had reviewed video production vendors at a prior company and liked what Snovi had to offer. Deciding factors were price and portfolio that showed they could create a video in the style we wanted.

It started with a pre-production questionnaire that we filled out and a script that we wrote. They shared some video concepts and then we had a meeting with the creative team to discuss. From there, they shared a storyboard and voiceover options. Then we had 4 rounds of animation and feedback.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with a project manager who used Airtable to manage the project. When items were ready for review, they were shared in Airtable with a comment to call out attention to it. We provided feedback via Google Docs. They took each round of feedback and produced a revised version.

The video had a positive reception with the company internally and is now being rolled out across all channels.

The project management was all done through Airtable. In general, they were pretty timely in responding to questions and comments.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were able to meet our tight timeline and made sure the project moved along accordingly. They were also flexible as we were figuring out what we wanted to do early on and then effectively incorporated our feedback through the revisions to ultimately create a final product we're quite happy with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I wish there was more proactive communication of specific dates on the timeline, so we could feel confident that they would hit it from the start. After the initial meeting, it would also have been nice to have communication outside of Airtable, which felt somewhat impersonal.

I'm the Chief Marketing Officer for Business Solution Partners. We are a software and technology consultancy working in the NetSuite ecosystem to support companies in their selection, implementation, support and training of FinTech solutions designed to streamline business operations.

As we pursue Verticalization strategies to target micro-verticals within the manufacturing and distribution umbrella, we seek ways to differentiate our organization from the competition. For our FFL Compliance solution, we hired Snovi to create an animated commercial explaining the benefits of our solution, as well as some supporting video assets to introduce our organization into the marketplace and drive opportunity.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

In a moment of kizmet, Snovi Studios reached out to me via LinkedIn at the exact moment that I was evaluating video production options. I immediately liked the team's output and aesthetic. Pricing was very competitive, and I felt like the value of the services was well in line with the cost. Additionally, the team at Snovi is extremely easy to work with, and accommodating to shifting deadlines, bandwidth and need.

Snovi was very well organized and split our project into several phases. First, we collaborated on an effective script. Then we moved into the storyboarding phase where we set the design tone. Moving from storyboarding into production, we selected our V/O resource, and started previewing animation. At every step in the process, the feedback loop was open and responsive. Our final product was a 1:30 minute animated explainer video that was extremely well produced, and exactly what we were looking for.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We primarily worked with Ty Ogden who acted as both Account Manager and Project Manager. As stated earlier, feedback was expected, absorbed and reflected back at every stage.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We premiered our FFL Suite commercial at the 2021 FICC Convention to a packed house. The video was very well received. Several individuals approached us after the premier to engage our sales team for more information. After the event, we continue to use the asset in both marketing and sales capacities to drive interest and excitement about our highlighted product.

PM was extremely efficient w/ Ty leading the charge. They kept us on schedule and on-budget with consistent communication and timely turnaround of changes highlighted through feedback. Ty is an effective project manager, diligent even when my team got distracted with other projects.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Persistence. They deliver in accordance with our contract and work hard to ensure the client gets what they paid for.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We've provided feedback to Snovi regarding their Accounts Receivable process leveraging PandaDoc. Billing systems and processes can be more sophisticated for larger clients. This was not even a bump in the road - a very small issue that did not affect our overall engagement.

The executive search industry and the process of how search firms find and place executives can be confusing to those who haven't networked with recruiters before. BlueSteps wanted to create video content that clearly explained how the process worked and how we can help them both understand the process and how to start getting noticed by recruiters.

We were looking for a video vendor for a while when we were contacted by Snovi. After reviewing their work we were excited to start working with them.

We had a call to discuss our service/product and identified what video concept we wanted to start with. Our first video was an "Intro to Bluesteps" animated video. We worked with the team on the script and got a draft video very quickly and from there refined some aspects of the video, got a voice actor to narrate and launched the video in the span of a couple of weeks.

We worked with a project manager named Ty who was super helpful and responsive. He made sure we understood the entire process and explained everything to us in great detail.

We started using our "Welcome to BlueSteps" webinar videos which many of the attendees commented they liked the video.

Very engaged and responsive. The tool they used was Airtable and the PM also took the time to walk us through the tool as we hadn't used it before.

Nothing stands out to me. We still haven't created an in-person video with them yet though we are excited to.

Both videos took a little over a month to complete, from start to finish. We worked directly with Snovi resources, from the ideation to drafting copy, to stroyboarding, and final video editing including voice overs and animation. Several rounds of back and forths were provided, and we finally nailed both videos.

They used an online portal, made it an organized and efficient process.

We were pleased with the results of both videos. We display them prominently on our website as well as on social media and even email signatures.

We were sent over a series of questionnaires to learn more about our business, our ideal customers, our value propositions, and our vision. All work was tracked in Airtable which made following along and contributing really easy.

They utilized Airtable which I really liked. There were clear mutually committed next steps and gave ample time for feedback and changes. I was able to approve and give feedback on every step of the project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Being able to add the videos to our customer stories page has been a game changer. Not only is it our most visited page but it's also the page that converts the most leads. I think this is primarily due to the addition of the customer testimonials to that page.

We worked with Ty and I can't recommend him enough. He was always available to chat and walk through feedback. He was also very direct and clear on the next steps. Even when we had a video shoot hiccup he was on it and solved the problem even before I know there was one.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The process. I had never worked with a vendor before that had such a clean process. Also the people. Between the project manager and the video production team, everyone was great to work with.

And then our client asked them to do few edits in Script and after approval of Script they showed us the Detailed Storyboard that how our video would look like. After storyboard phase they provided us animations along with voice over, Background music and SFX.

They have separate teams for producing video and one dedicated project manager who is managing Script Writers, Storyboard Artists, Voice over artists and Animators. We always communicated with Project Manager and he helped to us to reach our client's goal.

Our client launched marketing campaign and he was reached by more than 50+ clients every week.

They were very fast, responsive, easy to work with and they have a habit to implement feedback and not to miss a single change/feedback.

They've been extremely accommodating for us changing our timeline. They were very willing to meet in person, too. It's been a pretty positive experience and I'm glad we decided to go with them.

They were as good as it can get. They've been very responsive, very on top of our questions and the communication has also been really good.

In an ideal world where Coronavirus isn't happening, it would've been nicer to get things done faster, but that was based on the inability to meet up in person. With the circumstances, there's no way we could've changed that.

I’m the CMO of Biometrica. We’re focused on security and surveillance, building products that support federal, state, local, and tribal intelligence and law enforcement, private investigators, process servers, and organizational security and surveillance teams.

What challenge were you trying to address with Duck Video?

We were looking for an animated explainer video for our new product: a multi-jurisdictional, 24/7 criminal background checking software. It gives organizations the ability to be notified in near real-time through an encrypted alert to authorized company personnel when an employee has potentially been arrested.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had an initial Zoom call with Duck Video, where we showed them how our product worked. They sent me a preproduction questionnaire that addressed what separates us from main competitors, what our target audience was, and so on. We worked together on the scripting, and I sent them a PowerPoint of our activity.

We initially wanted a single 30-second video but decided to make two later on. The redefinition was seamless. The second video was over a minute long and targeted people we’d already established contact with, who wanted to learn more about how our product worked. The shorter piece was optimized for social media and an audience that was unfamiliar with our work. Duck Video understood that difference. They also introduced us to a tool we could use to monitor how many people were clicking on the video, and when and where they came from.

How did you come to work with Duck Video?

They approached me through LinkedIn. I’d seen some of their work online, and found it to be nicely done, elegant, to-the-point, and streamlined. I decided to give them a shot.

We worked together from October until December 2018.

They successfully conveyed our ideas and integrated our script feedback and suggestions in real time, which made a huge difference. I had fun with the whole process.

How did Duck Video perform from a project management standpoint?

I appreciated how interactive Mitch was. We would chat at 11 pm and 6 am, and the work ethic I saw on their team was incredible. Calls happened on Saturdays and Sundays, and we had text messages back and forth at all hours. There was a tight deadline for the new product release, but they gave it their all to deliver on time. 

From our perspective, the people we work with matter, and it’s important to have a rapport with them. We want to work with the same people again and again to build a relationship, and we have that with Duck Video.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication was outstanding. If you don’t have communication, you don’t have anything. You can’t visualize a product, and the best animator in the world won’t be able to produce something they don’t know the client needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should have let us know if they couldn't make a particular deadline. We’re flexible, but it’s important to set expectations on deadlines.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

It’s important to be realistic and not set yourself up for failure by expecting a 24-hour turnaround. Otherwise, everything will suffer, from communication to quality of work. Creativity isn’t something that happens at the snap of a finger.
