BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there. 

I'm the co-founder of Braustin Mobile Homes. We help people shop for and purchase factory-built housing online and over the phone.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with SlideWave, LLC? 

We ran into an operations backlog due to the amount of paperwork involved in buying a house. We wanted to be more streamlined on our end in order to create a better user experience.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially we wanted an app for our customers to track the documents involved in home buying throughout the process. SlideWave, LLC built a three-tier checklist so customers can see which documents are outstanding, which have been turned in, and which are waiting on the bank to be completed. They can see as documents move from one tier to the other in real time. Customers can also scan documents for their lender via smartphone. 

We're in our third phase of the project, and SlideWave, LLC continues to build solutions for us. They created an AR interactive catalog of homes. Now they're merging the AR app with the home buying paperwork app. They’re also adding functionality and making tweaks on the backend to make it more efficient for our sales team. 

What is the team composition? 

Typically 4–5 people work on our projects including UX/UI specialists and coders. David (Founder, CEO, and Senior Software Architect, SlideWave, LLC) is my main point of contact. 

How did you come to work with SlideWave, LLC? 

We worked in the same co-working space as SlideWave, LLC. We got to talking with David and it turns out he used to live in a manufactured home. We met with a number of different developers but they all felt too pushy. SlideWave, LLC offered us a free UX rundown of our website. They gave us really good feedback on ways we could improve our website and the customer experience. That's ultimately why we ended up going with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent in the range of $50,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement? 

We began working together in August 2017, and it's an ongoing partnership.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The biggest impact is time saved for our customers. They've taken a process that used to take 3–4 weeks and got it down to less than one week. The solution has eliminated a lot of the back-and-forth over paperwork, allowing customers to be in control of the process. For us, that's created a competitive advantage in our industry. We're the only ones that have this software technology. It gives us a leg up on winning business because it’s much easier for customers to buy a house. Customers love it. 

How did SlideWave, LLC perform from a project management standpoint? 

David is in touch with us on a regular basis and we get weekly updates. We get to approve each screen during the development phase before it gets coded.

What did you find most impressive about them? 

In carpentry terms, SlideWave, LLC is a “measure twice, cut once” kind of company. They spend a lot of time on the UX side. They help us think through what the sales team or the customer would do within the app. They make sure that we're getting the flow correct before working on the code. That time spent at the beginning makes the app work without us having to go back and make revisions. 

Are there any areas they could improve? 

They could do more to get their name out by asking for references.
