BACKGROUND

Please provide a description of your company. 

We are an online marketplace that offers companies a new platform to reach their customers, primarily by offering great discounts on their products. We offer promotions on every product, service, or activity you could think of.

What is your role and responsibilities?

I’m the manager of operations. I coordinate the website, applications, and internal projects.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What was your goal for working with SlashMobility?

Initially, we created an app because we wanted to increase our mobile accessibility. We had Web mobile, but we wanted a native app for iOS and Android. 

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their work.

We began our work with them around three and a half or four years ago, and the initial project consisted of app development for iOS and Android. Currently, we try to launch a new version of the app every six to eight weeks, so we are constantly updating it. We may change some of the functionality or the design, but we’re always working to improve the app.

What was your process for selecting SlashMobility with which to work?

 I don’t know, it was before I started working with the company.

Do you have any statistics or metrics to track improvement from the project?

We have achieved one million downloads. Also, 30 percent of our sales are through the app.

What were the results of the project?

The app has obviously been successful, and we’re happy with the work they’ve done as we continue to work with them.

Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?

Because they’re a large company, I think they’re able to offer services and resources that a smaller company couldn’t, but it’s hard to say because I’ve never worked with another developer.  

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?

Sometimes, they tend to rush through things and I find mistakes that I know they would not have made if they took their time. I would rather they miss a deadline than give me an app that doesn’t test well. They always correct the mistake, but not in the time that I allotted.
