We first helped the Loop team ideate on their color palette, font pairing, illustration style, and overall visual identity. Then, we translated that identity into mockups using Figma, going through several iterations until the look and feel was perfect. Then, we translated the design pixel by pixel to Webflow and ensured the entire site was mobile first, responsive, and came alive. Please describe your company and your position there.
CEO Coach and founder, former COO of Mochary Method
For what projects/services did your company hire Slam Media Lab?
I hired Slam to help design a new brand and a website on Webflow. The goal was to migrate all the content, establish a new look and feel to my new brand, and building one source of truth for all my CEO coaching resources.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Selected Slam because: 1/ Have seen their work in the wild and through mutuals and was impressed with their responsiveness and project management 2/ Strong design and development portfolio, plus they’re Webflow experts too 3/ Have a strong SEO background which made it easy for me not to have to hire someone else
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
The scope of work involved multiple steps. The primary objective was to move my content from Notion and Super Site to Webflow to consolidate my resources and direct my audience to one place. Part of the scope was also to implement a no-code marketing funnel to capture leads and build an audience in Convertkit.
Breaking down the deliverables below:
- Content migration: Transfering text, images, and templates from the previous platforms to Webflow in a way that preserves the original structure and organization of the content.
- No-code marketing funnel: The team implemented a no-code marketing funnel for Regina Gerbeaux's website. This included creating gated content to capture leads, such as templates and reports.
- Branding: Slam developed branding for my new website, including a mood board, logo, color scheme, and font pairing. The branding was designed to be professional, modern, and reflective of my expertise as a top CEO coach and founder.
- SEO optimization: The team optimized the copy on the website for keywords, including writing meta titles and descriptions, to help improve the site's ranking in search engine results.
- Wireframes and mock-ups: The team created wireframes and outlines of the website's layout and content structure, as well as high-fidelity mock-ups to give me a sense of how the website would look and feel once completed.
- Training: Finally, Slam provided training on how to manage and make changes to her website. This included instructions on how to update content, make design changes, and manage the site's backend.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked with the head of design and operations and the CEO.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
This is easily one of the best experiences I've ever had working with a team, and I’ve worked with a lot of vendors. The team is fast, takes feedback very well, and has strong design eyes. Within launch, I had 200+ new visitors check out my resources.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We mostly communicated async via email, and it went very smooth! We were able to move fast this way. They created a Notion project management hub to keep me informed and put everything in one place. We also occasionally had synchronous calls when I needed it, and it was great to quickly get aligned.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Partnering with Slam has been an exceptional experience. The team is highly proactive, knowledgeable, and communicates in a clear and informative way! I am always learning something new. Working with them has been a lot of fun, making the entire process more engaging.
The results of our collaboration have made a significant impact on my brand and business. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking web design and SEO! The quality of the company is a direct reflection of its people, and Slam undoubtedly has a team of marketers and designers!
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The team actually asked for feedback midway through, and I gave a few notes on small things that could be improved process wise. I love that they take it seriously and apply it. They’ve gone above and beyond to support me!

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am an independent consultant in program design and project management. I was the Website and Content Lead for this project. I partner with NCW Tech Alliance, a non-profit organization that serves 165+ business members and the greater community by hosting and supporting over 45 events per year and providing resources in technology, entrepreneurship, and STEM education.
For what projects/services did your company hire Slam Media Lab, and what were your goals?
Facing our 2022 Upskill-a-Thon competition, we were looking to redesign and rebrand our website for Community Skills Initiative, a free program, to help job seekers successfully navigate the paths to in-demand roles in a more digital economy.
Our nonprofit partnered with nonprofits across the country, Microsoft, and LinkedIn to get this website up and running, allowing them to get access to a variety of resources and courses. We wanted the site to be beautiful, accessible, and meet users where they are.
This is why we needed a multi-language website. Our goals were to recreate CSI website with an updated logo, and brand elements to promote free online courses to multiple communities in both English and Spanish. We needed an experienced, reliable team that could be flexible enough to cover all the different aspects of this project while helping us optimize the site’s SEO, content, and automation.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We selected Slam Media Lab for the redesign of our website because they’ve worked with many high-profile education and nonprofit organizations. They’re also BIPOC and women-led, so we were impressed by their portfolio of previous work, which showed a high level of expertise and creativity. After meeting with the team at Slam Media Lab and discussing our vision for the website, we were confident that they were the right choice for the job.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
- Redesign and develop the CSI website
- Promote multiple pathway courses from sponsors
- House landing pages of local partners
- Provide infrastructure to facilitate Upskill-a-thon competition for 1000+ participants
- Make content available in English and Spanish
Key project steps:
- Brand discovery + content outline
- Website design and iterate
- Working website content in
- Content translation
- Develop + launch
- Training
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
- 2 Web Designers & Developers - 1 Copywriter - 1 Translator - 1 Project Manager - 1 SEO Lead
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
When it comes to web design and development, you need to have the Slam team on your team. Working with them was one of the best experiences I’ve had working with designers, developers, and an agency that truly care. They did an incredible job of bringing our vision to life. The Slam team was extremely professional and attentive to our needs, always making sure we were happy with the direction of the design.
One of the standout features of the website is the clean and modern design, while implementing a translation tool that allowed our users to see everything in Spanish. The layout is user-friendly and easy to navigate, making it a breeze for our members to learn about the courses they are looking for. Nancy, our web lead, was extremely diligent in the face of multiple timeline changes due to changes in our timeline.
They were understanding and flexible, and they were able to accommodate the changes without any impact on the quality of their work. The project surpassed expectations, driving registrations and promoting our work. It has been so well-received by our community and partners that we’re expanding the project. You know a company by its people — and Slam has amazing people with a diverse and strong background.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
One of the things that stood out to us about Slam Media Lab was their great communication style. They communicated over Slack and always responded within a day. They were always responsive to any questions I had, were fun to work with, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free.
They were also proactive in keeping us updated on the progress of the project, which helped to ensure that the website was completed on time. Their clear and consistent communication made it easy for us to collaborate and make decisions throughout the project. We were very impressed with their communication skills and would definitely consider working with them again in the future.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
In addition to their professionalism and timely delivery, the team at Slam Media Lab impressed us with their talent and expertise. They have a deep understanding of new tools like Webflow and Airtable, which cut the development time significantly, and allowed us to have a site that loads fast and scales as we scale. The Slam team consistently put in the effort to create a brand that resonated with our audience. Special thanks to Nancy for her attention to detail and stellar execution
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Any team would be lucky to hire Slam for any website design and development project! Their eye for opportunity and emphasis on action has brought our website and project to the next level, and we're reaping the benefits of our work faster than expected. A+ team, A+ willingness, A+ design eye, A+ responsiveness. Highly recommend!

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO and Co-Founder of a storytelling site over 600K monthly visitors. We take everything you love about stories and makes it a bite-sized, on-the-go experience. Fanfiction? Poetry? Short stories? You'll find it all!
For what projects/services did your company hire , and what were your goals?
We brought in Slam Media Lab to provide ongoing SEO services for our landing pages and content. We wanted to make our topic pages consistently rank for competitive keywords.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We found them through a referral. We went through a bunch of companies, did due diligence and ended up picking Slam Media Lab due to the founder's experience in SEO. They've worked with audiences like ours and the team seemed really agile and fast, as opposed to going to traditional agencies.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.
We kicked off our project by sharing which categories we wanted to be known for. Slam Media Lab in the meantime went through an audit of our site and existing content, and since week 1, they provided recommendations for on-page and website optimization. After that they started doing keyword research and gave us thousands of potential opportunities for us to rank. We highlighted the ones we wanted to go after. Slam Media Lab brought it writers to help us publish the amount of content we needed.
They organized everything on an Airtable and the process was really smooth. We felt that we didn't even have to touch anything and started seeing results pretty quickly. Slam Media Lab also cleaned up our Google Dashboards and made a Google Data Studio for us to track conversions and traffic. They documented everything and delivered us templates and guides to use in the future.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with four people: the CEO, the editor, an assistant, and a writer.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We've grown our search traffic by 20% every month. We are now at 600K monthly uniques.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
They really thrived at scaling processes. They use Airtable to manage all writing. Google Drive/Docs for the articles. Slack for quick questions and updates. Strong content ops!
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their ability to drive results. They were able to get everything in place and launched a lot of pages to test our hypothesis for programmatic pages. I also really liked that they cut through all the stuff that doesn't matter to get where we needed to be! And their design eye is spot on. Loved working with them.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
None.

Web Dev, SMM, SEO, & Content Creation for Nonprofit Org.
“They understand Webflow very well, and they know what they’re doing.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of marketing and communications at Peer Health Exchange, a nonprofit organization that works with young people to build healthier communities. We focus on mental and sexual health, teaching young people about those life skills.
What challenge were you trying to address with Slam Media Lab?
We needed help with social media content and social media marketing (SMM) because we had a gap within our staff, and we lacked a social media manager. Additionally, we needed to rebrand our website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
On the one hand, Slam has supported us with having an SMM strategy, and they’ve also created content for our social media platforms. On the other hand, they’ve created a brand new website for us. Additionally, they’ve helped us with SEO, integrated some things we had on our previous site into the new one, and supported us in best practices in terms of content and how long to keep it on the site.
For the website, we required Slam to make it fun, engaging, and targeted to young people. As for the technology stack, it uses Webflow. We come from a WordPress website, so Slam has also been helpful in getting us acclimated to the new platform.
What is the team composition?
We work with Silvia (Founder & CEO), Kyle (Head of Design & Operations), and Nancy (Webflow Designer & Developer).
How did you come to work with Slam Media Lab?
When we were looking for a vendor, we sent out an RFP and looked at a couple of different companies that responded to it, including Slam. Originally, they were recommended to us by someone who used to work at our organization. One of the main reasons we were interested in working with them was because, in addition to having a depth of experience, they’ve worked with young people. Therefore, we thought that working with a company that understands the language of young people would be very helpful for us.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $70,000 across both projects.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together on the website in March 2022, and Slam delivered it in July 2022. As per our SMM efforts, the marketing strategy work started in April 2022 and ended in June 2022. Still, our engagement is ongoing, as we’re still working with them on developing a couple of major pages for the site.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Slam has helped us increase engagement on our social media platforms, and it is now way above the national average for social engagement. Moreover, we’ve seen an increase in followers as well. For example, on one of our platforms, we’ve seen a 100% increase, which has been very beneficial.
As for our new website, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from our staff, partners, community, and other young people; they love its new design and how fast it is. Currently, we average around 3,500 visitors per month.
How did Slam Media Lab perform from a project management standpoint?
Slam’s project management is amazing, and they’ve always been willing to incorporate feedback from young people throughout the process. Additionally, they respond very quickly. We use a Monday board to track progress, and at one point, we had weekly meetings to check-in. We also use Slack a lot to communicate, and we’ve used Loom a couple of times.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Slam’s attention to detail and customer service are outstanding. They understand Webflow very well, and they know what they’re doing. They’ve also gone above and beyond their line of duty and provided great insight on things we didn’t even think about, which has been very helpful.
In addition to that, Slam is very good at training. They know we have a limited budget, so they’ve been willing to train our staff to do the work, which has been very important for us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Work with them! — I would highly recommend them. If you do so, you’ll gain a lot of knowledge and understanding of Webflow, SEO, and the decision-making process behind their work and how it relates to your needs.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I was the COO of the company. Our company helped sales teams reduce ramp time through an analytics platform.
For what projects/services did your company hire Slam Media Lab?
We hired Slam Media to design our website and blog. The project was fairly complex (6 pages with multiple designs per page).
How did you select Slam Media Lab and what were the deciding factors?
We selected this vendor due to their previous project history, interview performance, and proposal. They seemed extremely professional and comprehensive.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We tasked Slam Media with designing a website in 2 weeks for us. We had an existing brand (logo, colors) but lacked a website. We started the project by outlining each page, the types of designs we wanted, and the copy for each page. We provided examples of other websites that we wanted to emulate.
Then the Slam Media team created Figma mockups and showed them to us before creating the project in Webflow. When we gave the team feedback, iterations were typically completed within 24-48 hours. Graphics were exceptional and well attuned to what we wanted.
How many resources from the Slam Media Lab team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We mainly worked with Kyle but occasionally interacted with Silvia. We didn't work directly with the graphic designer that they used.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We launched our website on time and received great feedback from clients.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Very. Slam set up a slack channel between us and adjusted to our communication style (Google docs, less meetings). Quite easy to work with.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Very receptive to feedback. They asked excellent questions about what we wanted in order to get us to think about our ideal state. They reduced misalignment through their project setup.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Everything was exceptional. It took a few iterations to get the graphics right but that was partially on us for not being explicit enough.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We're a nascent DTC start-up in the fashion space -- I'm the CEO and founder.
For what projects/services did your company hire Slam Media Lab, and what were your goals?
We’re coming out of stealth very soon, so we’re preparing all of our public-facing marketing materials for the launch. We have known Slam since its inception and I previously work with the founder and Head of Design, so I was thrilled to partner with them. We wanted to bring in a talented team of designers and marketers to help us get a beautiful website up on Webflow and using no-code tools so hiring Slam Media Lab was a no-brainer.
At the same time, we really wanted to ensure that the site was SEO-optimized from day 1 so they gave us guidance not only in the branding and web development and design side, but also on page structure, URL structure, on-page optimization, and more.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I'd previously worked with the folks at Slam, so knew they were highly competent across the board, especially in Webflow design & development. I'd point out firstly that the team is not only talented at what they do (which runs the gamut of the entire web design / dev process from Figma mock-up to build), but they're incredibly efficient, organized, and receptive to changes. We had our site up within weeks.
Two, they are really good at SEO so we didn’t have to waste time hiring another team or spend time doing research. Ultimately, it was an easy decision for us because they brought the full package.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The scope was to create a beautiful, mobile-first marketing site to prepare for our upcoming beta launch and and served as the gateway for investors, consumers, and partners to learn more about our company. Deliverables included:
- Design site structure to allow for growth (Webflow collections, page hierarchy, etc.)
- Website copy: Collect copy from client, Meta titles + meta descriptions for all pages
- Clean up and finalize existing mock-ups for hierarchy, responsive sizing, and spacing
- Build each page and collections within Webflow
- Program copy, design, graphics, images into CMS
- 6Add integrations (i.e. Google Analytics, Hubspot, Airtable, etc.)
- Build out and test on both staging and live sites (QA)
- DNS configurations
- Provide training and documentation for the site
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Two Webflow developer and designers, One project manager, and One SEO specialist.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Slam Media Lab really went above and beyond to get the site up -- they're very quick to take in feedback and turn around changes for us to review. When I had thoughts towards changes I wanted but couldn't quite figure out the details, they made suggestions based on their previous experience that made the site much better than I could've conceived.
We now use our site to our investors and early beta testers and have gotten great user feedback from all. We’re excited to share this with the world as we come out of stealth, and we know that the site will be able to scale given the way it was built.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
This team was 100% on time and really great at project management. They use Notion as their project management software and kept all of our notes, ticket requests, feedback all in a Notion dashboard, which made it super easy for us to find what we need. They really care about ensuring that we know what’s the latest, and that we have access to change things if we need to.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The quality of work, the timeliness and how quickly they get back to us while also managing other clients. The designs and work really reflect a wonderful team. They were very kind, truly deeply care about their work, and ensured that on the marketing side, everything was fully optimized for conversion.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Head of Product Marketing at Composer. Composer is the first digital marketplace to offer a comprehensive collection of resources for activating a deeper sense of human responsibility in students. Founded in 2019 by High Resolves as a collaborative initiative with four other market leaders in civics and citizenship education: Facing History and Ourselves, iCivics, Generation Citizen, and Peace First, the platform enables educators working with grades 6-12 and in non-traditional learning environments to access a whole ecosystem of content providers in one place. Composer provides research-based tools and guidance to support educators with curriculum planning, tailoring the world’s best curriculum to their own context, and translating insights from learning science into practical applications.
For what projects/services did your company hire Slam Media Lab, and what were your goals?
We wanted to bring an SEO agency with proven experience in the social impact space. As we revamped our site, we wanted to optimize our site for SEO to help make it our #1 marketing channel. Slam Media Lab helped us with keyword research and grouping for all the categories we want to be known for. They also gave us guidance on website optimization, page structure, URL structure, and gave us a detailed breakdown of what our competitors were doing. Our goal is to be #1 platform for educators to find high-quality resources through search.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Slam Media Lab was highly recommended by other social impact organizations that we've worked with in the past. We saw case studies of their past clients and were looking for a small agency that could execute at a high level. They are based in the Bay Area, so they bring in a lot of the tech expertise to help us scale the writing and editing. We loved that they had writers ready to start writing many pieces a month.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.
Slam Media Lab's scope was to build the organic search foundation that we needed to increase brand awareness, traffic, and new users. This foundation helped us create and distribute content to tens or hundreds of thousands or millions of people per month organically that will engage with the content and product.
Deliverables include:
- Website optimization recommendations: Guidance and recommendations for website redesign and blog: structure, pages, and URLs
- Opportunity analysis and keyword research strategy: Point out which existing content can be optimized for to identify market opportunity
- Individual Content (Resources/Blog/Landing Pages) Optimization: Upgrading and reviewing existing content based on opportunity to capture searches, recommendations and feedback on meta titles and meta descriptions, article structure, internal link strategy
- SEO writing training: Coach staff on SEO writing and optimization for all content and product
- Landscape analysis of 20 competitors and partners
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Three people. We worked with the CEO who was our point of contact, one editor, and one of their assistants.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Slam Media Lab showed us thousands of variations of what our competitors are doing. This helped us start refocusing our content strategy and finding the niches we want to be well known for. This has led us to save dozens of hours in design work, writing work, and development. Now that we know the data, we're starting to create landing pages for each of our tags and writing new content at scale. Her guide has helped crack the code with performance. We're starting to see our pages move to the second page and soon first page.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
This was one of Slam Media Lab's biggest strenghts: extremely organized with action items after every single meetings. All documents live in one place (a Google Drive), as well as an Airtable to track all the writing. They delivered everything ahead of time and had every agenda prepared 24-hours before.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am a marketing executive with 30+ years of experience. Have worked with big brands like Funny or Die, XQ Institute, Brit & Co.
For what projects/services did your company hire Slam Media Lab?
We hired Slam to help us with two main services: website redesign (wireframing, copy optimization, branding) and low-code development on Webflow! Specifically, this was a personal project I was looking to get up quickly and as a way to get more traffic to a website focused on promoting an author and her books.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We selected Slam Media Lab after a thorough review of several potential vendors in the market. The selection process involved conducting research on the vendors, evaluating their portfolios, and reviewing their client testimonials.
After hearing so many great reviews about Silvia and Kyle, we were on board! We were impressed with Slam's track record of delivering high-quality website design and development services, and their expertise in low-code development on Webflow and SEO made them a perfect fit for our project. The deciding factors were around quality of work, timeline, and pricing. Their pricing was competitive, and they were willing to work within our timeline and budget constraints!
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
Slam Media Lab would work to improve the overall user interface and online experience when learning about Edwards, her books, and her upcoming events. This would involve making sure the site is easy to navigate and user-friendly, and that it provides a seamless experience for visitors who are looking to learn more about the author and her work.
- Moodboard: The first step was to develop a mood board that would guide the overall aesthetic and visual style for the website. This would help establish the tone and visual style of the brand, including the color scheme and typography choices.
- Branding: Next, Slam Media Lab would work on the branding, which would involve creating a brand identity that would be consistent throughout the website.
- Wireframes: After the branding had been established, Slam Media Lab would create wireframes for the website, which would provide an outline of the overall site structure and layout.
- Content Outlines: Based on the wireframes, the team would work on developing content outlines for the website, which would include the overall structure and organization of the content.
- High-Fidelity Mockups: Once the wireframes and content outlines had been approved, Slam would create high-fidelity mockups of the website design!
- DNS Set-Up: As the website was being developed, Slam Media Lab would assist with setting up the DNS for the website, which would involve registering a domain name and setting up web hosting, and transfer everything from the old site!
- SEO Optimization: In order to improve search engine visibility and attract more traffic to the site, Slam helped optimize the site from day 1, which would involve making sure the site is structured properly and contains relevant keywords and meta tags!
- Launch: After the website had been developed, tested, and optimized for performance, Slam would assist with launching the site, which would involve making the site live and accessible to the public.
- Training: The Slam Media Lab team would provide training on how to change and update the website, which would include instructions on how to add new content, edit existing content, and make any necessary changes.

One of the deciding factors was how forward-looking, fast-paced, responsive they were. I’ve recommended them to several partners and colleagues already!

The Slam team made sure we were up to speed with everything and sending updates weekly. As we got closer to launching, they sent even more regular aspects. They were skilled at the website's technical and design and amazing people that adjusted to my working style.
That special touch is what makes all the difference in the world. They used both Slack and Notion to keep track of edits, comments, and feedback. Slam Media Lab goes the extra mile so that we can learn how to use the website ourselves, instead of relying on a 3rd party to make changes.
