A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the executive director of Fraternus, which is a mentoring and fraternal organization for men.
What challenge were you trying to address with Skymouse Studios?
We had some websites that we had purchased that needed to be migrated into our orbit. They also needed a bit of redesign, and we needed technical help with website and data acquisition.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Skymouse Studios helped us get the website over to our servers. They helped us to set up different functionalities and content on the WordPress websites. They implemented a blog and added content to different pages while also working on technical improvements. Most of the work on the sites was minimum, but there was one site that needed a major overhaul.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact was Patrick (Co-Founder).
How did you come to work with Skymouse Studios?
I met them through personal networking.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested approximately $4,000 on the project.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement lasted from April–August 2020. We still call them for any modifications, but the main bulk of the work was finished within that time frame.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I found that their time frames were reasonable, and they actually fulfilled what they said they would do, unlike other tech companies that I've worked with. As far as generating site traffic that we hoped for, I would say it's average to above average. However, they were very attentive every time we needed them, so 100% of the time I felt like I was cared for as a customer.
How did Skymouse Studios perform from a project management standpoint?
Skymouse Studios did better than average. Instead of me having to prod them about work, they would actually drag me along and keep me in the loop.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Whenever we had any troubles Skymouse Studios were always helpful. There were times when they just went above and beyond with the partnership because it seemed like the right thing to do. Their ability to take a technical process and keep it on cue, while also remaining reasonable was a standout of the collaboration.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don't think Skymouse Studios took into account ways that they could have done the project differently to have a direct financial impact on us. They knew what they needed to do and that they would get paid, but if they had done it differently, it would have made us more money, and we could have extended the partnership.
Any advice for potential customers?
I would recommend meeting them in the middle. Make sure you're aware of what you need so that you're not giving them complete control over the process. That way you also leave room for them to give their input, and you can improve the final product.
Skymouse Studios regularly kept in contact with the client, which allowed them to deliver the project within the allocated timeframe. The migration of the websites, a variety of web implementations, and their team’s responsibility towards the project were praised by the client.
