What challenge were you trying to address with Sky Jellyfish Video Production?

I’m creating a game show and we needed to create a video for it, so we hired Sky Jellyfish Video Production.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started the engagement with a meeting to discuss the scope. Nik (Creative Director) sent me the quote the next day. We then started with a 50% deposit and then began working on the script. For the storyboarding, we worked on it together to make it flow better. We ended up doing 11 versions because I was a bit of a fanatic when asking for changes, but he was very accommodating to what I asked for. 

We then worked on the voiceover. However, even though I chose the person, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted and Nik corrected it. He also chose different themes for putting the video together.

I worked with Nik and there was a teammate who handled the editing, too. 

How did you come to work with Sky Jellyfish Video Production?

I did a Google search and found a couple of providers that had perfect reviews. I met with another company that had more reviews, but they weren’t very excited about my project and were asking for too much.  I met with Nik and he was excited and interested. He was really genuine and I felt comfortable working with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $6,400 AUD (approximately $4,900 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from October–November 2020 on the project. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work was very well priced and the end result was amazing. The quality was really good and I’m very happy with it. Nik even added extra things I didn’t ask for just to make sure it really flowed. I showed the video to one of the most famous actors for game shows and he was pretty impressed by the graphics and the sound quality — he said it was to the point and really good.

How did Sky Jellyfish Video Production perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was very good. Nik was really responsive. The work was done within the right timeline and it didn’t take too long. At times, it was quicker than expected but never later than expected. We used email and Vimeo to review the video and make our remarks, which was helpful. We normally met in-person at a coffee shop close to my home or talked on the phone.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Nik was generally interested in thinking from the client’s perspective, which is unique and hard to find. They took the initiative to look from our perspective and see what would work best for us. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, everything was perfect.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make an appointment; there's no obligation. Go see them. Have open communication and tell him your whole vision — Nik will be good at bringing it to reality.

We needed help with promotional video production.

What were your goals for this project?

To draw traffic to our website and social media platforms in order to increase our sales.

How did you select this vendor?

I met the team at a business expo.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

It was our first ever promotional video. They worked on the whole process, giving me ideas for the script and helping to tweak it after I had written it.

 Sky Jellyfish was patient and paid attention to detail throughout, taking the time to make sure the end product was exactly what we wanted. I’m not used to being on camera, but they made me feel comfortable and gave me tips on how I could improve. We had two shooting sessions in order to get the right footage, then they put it together. I was able to view it afterward and request some changes.

I worked with Peter (Managing Director, Sky Jellyfish) and Nik (Creative Director, Sky Jellyfish).

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We don’t have the results yet, but they were helpful throughout the project.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Peter kept the project moving, which I really appreciated; he worked with me at my pace, so the schedule was perfect an I wasn’t rushed. They finished the project quickly, which meant we got the final product when we wanted. It was great.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their friendly, professional approach made me feel like nothing was too much trouble. I was impressed by their willingness to go above and beyond.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I would like them to provide a small video about the filming process, explaining what they require from the client. In the beginning, I was uncertain as to how the process was going to happen, so this might have helped me as a first-time client. Once the process had started though, everything was seamless.

The property had been marketed by a local Real Estate agent for a considerable amount of time with no results. I asked SkyJelly Fish to produce a marketing video which I used online. The process was timely and effective. I have sold the property.
