I'm a solution consultant and business developer for a company that creates mobility solutions, including platforms that integrate the data from multiple transportation service providers.

What challenge were you trying to address with Skillforce.pl Sp. z o.o? 

For the project I was involved with, we engaged Skillforce to build out a webpage that we wanted to essentially use as a sales tool. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Skillforce developed a webpage that presents information about our mobility platform and all the regions it's offered in. Features include the ability to click on a hyperlink and jump to a page that showcases the frontend of the app for a particular city. 

We have an in-house designer who creates most of the wireframes and designed the layout, but there have been a few instances that Skillforce has helped design menus and other features as needed.

What is the team composition?

We work with a project manager, a couple of developers, and a tester. 

How did you come to work with Skillforce.pl Sp. z o.o?

I believe our CEO discovered their company at a conference and hit it off well with their team. 

How much have you invested with them?

We've invested in the range of $10,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I believe the company has been working with them since 2008, but I've been working with them on the most recent project since April 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Skillforce developed a valuable sales tool that's helped us acquire more leads and opportunities. We also show the webpage they built at conferences, which has garnered a lot of positive attention. 

How did Skillforce.pl Sp. z o.o perform from a project management standpoint?

They're very responsive and easy to reach. Using a tool similar to Jira, they keep project tasks and documentation and progress well organized.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Since it's a small company, communication is more direct and their team members are more accessible.

Are there any areas they could improve?

On more than one occasion, they sent iterations of the webpage that hadn't been tested so the site appeared to be broken, so they need to invest more resources in testing.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It's beneficial to have a workshop or meeting with their team to go over user stories to ensure they fully understand them. Don't rush the process in the beginning, so the project starts off with as much clarity as possible.

I’m the founder and CEO of a mobile development company. We’re focused on consumer-focused mobile apps.

What challenge were you trying to address with Skillforce.pl Sp. z o.o.?

I was searching for a cost-effective vendor for some of the features that our team wasn’t able to create.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created an advanced backend solution that could run on both Android and iOS. It would also be personalized for app users on Mac interfaces.

Technologies used included React Native, Kotlin, and MySQL. They also had to familiarize themselves with the Google API designed for Google Maps.

What is the team composition?

Their CEO acted as a project manager, and they had a senior developer working as a tech lead. They had three developers doing the daily work, and I was heavily involved as well. 

How did you come to work with Skillforce.pl Sp. z o.o.?

I was introduced to their CEO via an acquaintance.  I knew that they were a Polish software company with highly skilled software developers.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested $10,000–$50,000 with their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2017 and the engagement ended in December 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They helped us understand the key challenges that were blocking us from reaching our business goals. Without their help, I don’t know how we would have solved the development issues. They also supported us in the creation of version 1.0 of our solution. Since then, we’ve been able to develop it further. 

How did Skillforce.pl Sp. z o.o. perform from a project management standpoint?

They were good at project management and operational work. Their project manager communicated well. They used Jira, and they also provided a product summary.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They create high-quality code.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could introduce a standard method of sharing and communicating a weekly newsletter.
