Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the former head of corporate communications at Novo Nordisk, the world’s largest manufacturer of insulin.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Skepper Creative Agency?
In India, the pharma industry is heavily regulated and there can’t be any direct advertising of products to patients. Any product-related information can be shared with healthcare practitioners. We needed to create awareness and needed an innovative way to communicate to laypersons about diabetes management.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They provide a wide range of services from brand conceptualization to website development, etc. This particular project was in relation to the creation of an animated video. We essentially gave them the idea and they adapted it for us. Our team gave them a story outline, and they showed us the storyboard and how it’d look when it went out as an animation video.
At the time, we had an agreement with a former sport’s person who was very popular and widely respected. He was the brand ambassador for the company in India at that time. We used him in an animation format along with a little child. It’s a story and the little child has diabetes.
The child describes how she manages while she’s traveling. Skepper came up with a storyboard. They brought us the voice artist for the recording. They went to the brand ambassador’s house to record his voice. Their team did the final animation and production.
What is the team composition?
There were five people. The proprietor himself came for the shooting. He was in charge of the production and he brought along his A-team.
How did you come to work with Skepper Creative Agency?
They’re very experienced in the pharma sector. Even with known artists, they had a standing relationship. I reached out to a couple of vendors for quotes and ideas on how to go ahead with this and I liked their idea and approach the most.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested less than $5,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project was from January–March 2018.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
This was a very high-profile project for us. We posted the video on social media and it got very high engagement. Our brand ambassador really liked the video and that was very valuable feedback for us because he’s an influential celebrity.
How did Skepper Creative Agency perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management was very smooth and seamless. They’re a very tight unit. Skepper is a great pleasure to work with. For the child’s voice, they gave 6–7 samples. We didn’t like any of them so they went and searched for another voice that we’d approve. They’re extremely flexible, accommodating, and a great pleasure to work with. We used phone calls and WhatsApp to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The quality of production is impressive. If we give them an idea, they come back with something much more evolved and superior. The effort they put in from their side is great and they’re extremely professional. We’ve never missed a deadline because of them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there’s nothing I’d have them improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Give them a little bit more lead time because they’re a busy team. They’ll come back with an absolutely amazing product.
