SIXGUN then created a comprehensive SEO strategy which consisted of 3 core pillars i.e. Architecture Optimisation, Content Optimisation, and Outreach & Link Building.
Having this three-pronged approach ensured we would receive the best possible results from the campaign. Our referencing domains and domain rating also increased significantly.

I am the General Manager at Peter Sheppard Footwear, a footwear retailer with stores in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. We also operate online, facilitated by staff at our Head Office in Melbourne. The company has approximately 100 staff across the three physical locations and online store.
For what projects/services did your company hire SIXGUN?
Our online store only launched approximately two years ago and thus, it was driving less than 5% of overall business revenue for some time. As a relatively small Head Office team, we did not have the resources to manage our own SEO and Google Ads efforts. However, we knew the importance of having these in today's retail climate.
What were your goals for this project?
The main objective was to increase new customers to the website, remarket to existing customers, increase online sales and therefore increase overall revenue for the business. The average customer at Peter Sheppard Footwear is between 40-65 years old and we found these customers were not used to shopping online with us.

As a business who relies on the power of word of mouth, we were referred to SIXGUN by another marketing professional in the industry. SIXGUN were young at the time we started working with them but what what they lacked in years they made up for in professionalism and quality.

SIXGUN identified several areas of potential for Peter Sheppard Footwear (PSF)
1. SEO - There was insufficient content on the website which was impacting our ranking on search engines. SIXGUN have facilitated the writing of content for the website which has had a significant impact on the overall positioning of PSF. SIXGUN wrote the content and it was up to our in house team to proof and make any amendments. As the portfolio of brands evolved, SIXGUN identified the importance of keeping the content up to date.
2. Remarketing - SIXGUN have executed many remarketing campaigns for the business since starting work for PSF. These campaigns are run across Google, Facebook and most recently, Bing.
3. Brand awareness - SIXGUN have executed many brand awareness campaigns that have helped build the PSF audience and bring new customers into the business. SIXGUN manages all the campaigns, budgeting and reporting on the work they do for PSF.
What was the team composition?
We work closely with two members of the SIXGUN team, our Account Manager and Google Ads Specialist. I believe there are 2-3 more members who assist on the SEO front and day to day running of our account. The size of the team has grown slightly since we have worked with SIXGUN.

Since working with SIXGUN we have seen a significant increase in overall online revenue (over 50%). They have opened up many doors of opportunity for Peter Sheppard Footwear. Our conversion rate has also significant improved. It is worth noting that during the period of COVID-19 where the stores were closed, they were able to successfully help bring many of our 'in store customers' online to ensure there were no lost opportunities due to the store closures.

Our Account Manager Harris is excellent at communication. He is on the ball, always very transparent with the work SIXGUN are completing and where we are at from a budget vs. results point of view. Our Ads Specialist Jeremy is also a fantastic worker, always very thorough when explaining and brainstorming his ideas. A weekly WIP and consistent email messaging in the meantime was ample communication between SIXGUN and PSF to ensure tasks got completed.

The communication skills of all individuals at SIXGUN are noteworthy. Their hard work and commitment to ensuring our business succeeds in the realm of digital marketing is also next to none. They are a small business who specialises in marketing for small businesses which I think is their real point of difference.
