Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the brand and commercial director of a retail brand. We’re in the retail, hospitality, and tourist business. We have 16 retail shops, five restaurants, and a growing e-commerce site.
What challenge were you trying to address with Sing!?
We didn’t have the in-house expertise to handle our digital marketing. We outsourced to Sing! so they could handle our SEO, PPC, and Google Ads.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our e-commerce site represents our brand. It’s been around for a good number of years, but it’s only gaining momentum now. Post COVID-19, the site comprises 15% of our business. Sing! ran all of our campaigning, driving traffic and conversion. For SEO, they managed our targeted keywords and tracking. They placed our Google Ads depending on what we had going on in our events calendar. We held weekly calls to discuss how we delivered.
What is the team composition?
I worked with three individuals comprising Lee (Co-Founder), Patricia (Operations Director), and Pranay (Digital Campaign Manager).
How did you come to work with Sing!?
I’m new to my role, and they were in place when I joined. However, from my understanding, a part of the reason was for Sing!’s flexibility and agility.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested about €50,000 (approximately $59,000 USD) each year.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement ran from January 2016–February 2020. We’re now doing a lot of our marketing in-house.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We collaborated with Sing! on a tactical level, working from campaign to campaign. We’d brief them in advance and then put plans in place. They’re good at what they do, but the whole ecosystem didn’t really work well. There were a lot of challenges about the ways of working and effectiveness.
When I was new, I sensed they didn’t get the full picture of what was needed. We left things open with Sing! and expressed that if our company were to outsource again, we’d consider reengaging.
Cost was a big factor because they were a percentage of the budget. However, effectiveness was another big factor. We didn’t feel our ROI was strong enough. They returned expressing they weren’t briefed early enough and things weren’t clear.
How did Sing! perform from a project management standpoint?
They did fine with project management. There were no issues there.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very open and transparent.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Frustrations built up and then we reached a point when callers said this wasn’t working great on both sides. There were some members of their team who were stronger than others. However, I have to look at ourselves too and challenge whether we, as a client, briefed and managed them well enough at the time. There are two sides to it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Give them a strategic overview and ensure they see the bigger picture. Then, see what value they can bring.

I’m the owner of an online life insurance and income protection provider. We’ve been up and running for just over 6 months.
What challenge were you trying to address with Sing!?
I have no marketing experience, so I was looking for a partner to help me get up and running quickly.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We hired them after having a negative experience with a prior digital marketing services provider. I was open to their feedback after they learned about my business, encouraging them to recommend an ideal digital marketing strategy for me. At this point, they’re creating and launching ads on Google Ads and Facebook. When they create a marketing asset, they run it by me for approval and post it to the appropriate channel. Our campaign is rolling on a month-to-month basis.

While searching for a new partner on Google, their site caught my attention. Our initial conversation was impressive, and their owner gave me great insight into how the company operates. I was confident that they would be a good fit based on our communications early on.

After our second month working together, they were able to cut my cost per lead down by over 50%. Each week, I examine how our campaigns are doing. I’ve been very impressed with their work.
How did Sing! perform from a project management standpoint?
They were great at following my instructions concerning best practices within the financial services industry. The team stuck to my requirements, returning to me with deliverables that didn’t need additional editing. They provide a performance report on a weekly basis that illustrates the success of their work. We’re confident that we can get a hold of them and they properly research and test their work.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their level of communication gives me confidence in their control and understanding of our account. I appreciate getting the feedback that I need to track their progress. Even where there weren’t huge improvements to report, we kept our regular communication cadence, which kept everyone in the loop.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’d love to have more Zoom meetings with them. That would allow me to ask questions in more of a face-to-face environment.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have a day-one conversation about what you expect from their services in terms of deliverables and metrics. I find that they give honest feedback on whether or not they can achieve our goals. For any digital marketing project, keep in mind that it may take a few months to see tangible results. That’s just how the industry is. They’re a very strong team.

We create the content, and then they activate, program, or retarget the campaigns for us across social media advertising platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others. They disseminate the content we create and optimize the campaigns for different sources.
They have also provided SEO services. That’s rarer, but they’ll occasionally do AdWords as well.
