SimpliSage Technologies Pvt Ltd returned to support a tech company on another project. They’re working to integrate an e-commerce payment portal with an offline CRM for a third-party client.
Despite numerous delays from the end client, SimpliSage Technologies Pvt Ltd has remained flexible and performed to the specified objectives. They’ve adapted by running all task requests through a project lead who then coordinates with the team to determine the best resource for getting things done. This review is an update by the client company. The original content is located below the new review.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a technology consulting firm. I run the company, handling developer coordination, client management, and general operations.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with SimpliSage Technologies Pvt Ltd?
We engaged SimpliSage Technologies Pvt Ltd to integrate an e-commerce payment portal with an offline CRM system for our client.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We started off with an initial assessment on the scope of work, bringing in SimplieSage when it came time to discuss the integration and customer-facing platform. They were involved in identifying the specific data points that we’d need to store to manage the lifecycle of a customer record on our platform. Then, they reviewed the schema data provided by the existing CRM to verify that it would match up with our data points and meet our objectives.
During the development phase, they built out the specific API endpoints that we’d use with the CRM system, which allowed our client to send us data. We’re now in the last phase, waiting for our client to provide us with the schema for returning data to them.
What is the team composition?
I met Ranjeet “Brad” (Founder & CEO) who does most of the project management with me. He’s my primary interface. There’s also another person who works on the development and API integration, a team member who’s doing the interface, and a final person who plays more of an ancillary role.
How did you come to work with SimpliSage Technologies Pvt Ltd?
To expand on my original answer, I was working with a State-side developer that I wasn’t particularly happy with Brad cold-called me. He pierced the veil at just the right time, so we had a conversation about how we could work together. We didn’t have an opportunity to do so for a while, but he’d still check in every few months to see how things were going.
Eventually, we got the chance to collaborate with our previous project, which was a success. It took a little longer than I expected, but the client had some scope changes that made it a little more expensive than I expected — though still within a reasonable budget. That’s why we’ve come back to them for this project.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve spent about $7,000–$9,000 on this project with another few thousand dollars left to go.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started on this particular project in October 2020, and it’s ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve had set deliverables with specific functionality targets and a rough timeline, and SimpliSage has been able to chip away at each of those. The team has finished the look and feel, the ability to receive data for a transaction, and a dynamic landing page. Everything seems to work well, and the software meets my objectives.
How did SimpliSage Technologies Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
There has been some starting-and-stopping in the beginning due to delays by the client, and a few deliverables have been a bit last-minute. However, that’s inescapable when the client gives us a nine-day delay on payment. Rather than hiring them on month-on blocks, we engage them based on time and materials, so they’ve naturally had to fill their time with other projects while we’ve waited on our client. Sometimes this means that a team member who would normally be our point person for a deliverable isn’t available for a few days when we need them.
SimpliSage has found a functional solution to that. We’re trying something a bit different from last quarter where I now assign tasks to a project manager who then coordinates with the internal team to determine which resource can best handle the assignment. That has helped us address the client-delay issues — nothing has been amiss on this project.
In terms of communication, they use a Skype group chat to reach out to me for any questions as well as for our regular calls. They also use Freedcamp, which is a standard project management tool with tasks and milestones. This is more for specific deliverables. If we’re coming up on a review, we may do more rapid back-and-forth in Skype.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m very satisfied with their work. They do straightforward, easy-to-parcel-out projects with clear functionality guidelines, and they’ve consistently delivered on them. That, in and of itself, is a good thing! I’ve never had any surprises with SimpliSage because they get things done. If there’s a question or a problem, they fix it.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Other than using Slack instead of Skype, I don’t have any complaints. They’re available whenever I need them and follow up without needing to be hounded. They don’t co-mingle life and work, either. It’s less drama and more productivity.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Whether you have structured or unstructured requests, SimpliSage seems to be able to take them and run with them. They do the objectives that I specify and can usually adapt to meet me if I need some insights. Just tell them what you need, set a timeline, and it’ll get done.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a technology consulting firm. I run the company, handling developer coordination, client management, and general operations.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with SimpliSage Technologies Pvt Ltd?
We needed to build a custom payment interface. My internal team didn’t have the bandwidth.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We turned to them to build a payment portal using PHP and a Laravel framework that would allow us to create individual landing pages and deploy those landing pages with configurable designs. They created the flow from merchants to transactions with this platform.
What is the team composition?
We worked with two people on a regular basis.
How did you come to work with SimpliSage Technologies Pvt Ltd?
We were cold-called by them. I’d started talking with them before we had any projects that matched up with their skillsets. When this project arose, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to collaborate.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about $3,000 each month on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from about June–October 2019. The project took about a month longer than we were hoping, but they adjusted well to scope changes and client requests.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I’ve been pleased with the work and plan to engage them in another project now. We’ll be able to deliver a good product within the budget and timeframe we’ve discussed. The biggest testament to the quality of their work is the fact that we’ll continue working together.
How did SimpliSage Technologies Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
I use Freedcamp for project management, loading it up with tasks for their team. That keeps e updated on their progress as well as our Skype group chat. Our time zones are about 12 hours apart, so our group chat has helped clarify answers to questions. They’ve been good about getting back to us when we have urgent requests as well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I can count on them to complete development work that I’ll be happy with. We have a pretty simple relationship, which works perfectly for us. They’re a mechanical, technical group. I don’t have anything negative to say about them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think I would change anything about what they’re doing.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I’d recommend walking through the scope with them because that will give them a chance to ask questions that are critical to the process. Communication is key in any development project, and that’s true here as well.
