Our computer vision platform was highly technical, and not every buyer had the expertise to evaluate it in depth. Simion Advisory positioned the IP in a way that spoke both to strategic acquirers and financial investors, which broadened the pool of interested parties and directly led to competitive offers.
Finally, their responsiveness set them apart. I never waited more than a day for answers, even when multiple workstreams were running in parallel. That level of commitment created momentum and gave me confidence that no opportunity was slipping through the cracks.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Simion Advisory could have done differently?
Overall, the engagement exceeded my expectations, but as with any complex transaction there are areas that could have been refined. At times the pace of outreach and investor engagement felt almost too fast, and I would have appreciated a bit more time to prepare internally before some of the management meetings. A slightly more phased approach might have allowed us to go deeper with a few priority investors earlier in the process.
In addition, while the data room was comprehensive and well organized, the volume of documents and Q&A at peak diligence could feel overwhelming. A more visual or summarized view of progress through the diligence checklist might have helped me keep a clearer picture of what was still outstanding.
These are relatively small points in the context of an otherwise excellent process, but they are worth noting as opportunities to make an already strong approach even smoother for founders in the future.
