In interviewing other developers, we appreciated their thorough knowledge of the e-commerce platform that we currently use, their attentiveness, and matched with our current budget.

The project is currently ongoing since the initial contracts. Based on their service, the work was extended to maintenance after the initial development of our e-commerce site on Magento platform. Now after development and successful running of the site, we are upgrading to a newer Magento version to get us completely up to current version.

We have had one main contact throughout with multiple developers to assist with standard and urgent matters. 3-4 people in total.

With the new site and SEO rankings we have seen an increase in sales and customers for both our current websites.

No as we are continually working with them and happy with the service.

I’m the founder and CEO of Milan Digital, a digital services company that provides a range of solutions to our customers. We’ve been in business for roughly 25 years and have gone through a couple of name changes.

I wanted to launch an e-commerce website with a Greek jewelry designer. The site needed to be multilingual, multi-currency, and robust with an elegant design.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Webbuzz developed our e-commerce website. Although we only had a few products at the time and knew a light platform would’ve been enough, we decided to go with Magento 2 as our platform to keep our long-term vision in mind. 

Webbuzz built the site with customizations and implemented my partner’s design, making the site SEO-compliant in the process. They then imported products from our Etsy site and modified elements like the names, descriptions, and more. The team even researched several additional modules to install, two of which include an IP address detection function that allowed us to determine which currency to display and a Facebook Pixel extension.

Currently, we have roughly 100 products, each presented in a customized way with tabs for the description, product care, warranty, and more. Webbuzz continues to maintain the site.

The project manager, who is also the CEO, is my primary contact and consultant for the project. There are also two Magento developers working with us.

They were recommended by friends, and I liked the size of the company. I related to them because they were grounded, realistic in terms of what they could do, and amenable. On top of that, they offered a balance of competence and quality versus price.

So far, we’ve spent $5,000–$10,000.

We began working together around May 2019, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website went live in April 2021 and works well. We’ve actually begun digital marketing. 

In terms of the services Webbuzz provides, they quickly fix any issues that arise. They’ve been consistent and are familiar with the latest version of Magento. Moreover, they have good structure and bring in extra help for performance issues as needed.

How did Webbuzz perform from a project management standpoint?

There have been delays with responses at times, but, overall, they've been available and responsive. We use Google Drive and communicate via Skype, Google Meet, and email.
 
What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re genuine. Their team is small enough to be responsive, yet large enough to have expertise. The customer service is also good, and they listen.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I suggest that they have a library of extensions that clients may want in order to save time on projects. It’d also be nice to have extra staff for Magento to minimize any delays.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When working with offshore companies, you need to make sure you get your requirements right. I don’t have any concerns about this company — you can trust them.

They also provide us with IT support (they give advice on how to solve problems and make stuff better).

I’m really happy with the work they’ve provided thus far. They deliver on time, and if they have problems with delivering on time, they assign more members to work on it. 

There have never been any issues or hidden costs. If there are any disagreements with the price, they correct it. It’s easy to work with them.

I mostly do project management for them. I’m the contact person in between my clients and their team. We use Skype and Asana to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with everything they’ve delivered, and they’re really good to work with. They have good PHP skills. They’re also good with MySQL databases.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are some language barrier issues where it’s sometimes hard to explain what they really need to do. 

Since it’s not their native language, miscommunication could happen that way. However, it’s never really an issue. We just have to repeat ourselves a couple of times and it’s okay.
