    Pidro Multiplayer Card Game

Pidro is a team game that is easy and fun to play. The game is closely related to other card games like Pedro, Cinch, 63 and 83. The overall idea of Pidro is similar to Bridge, in that the game consists of two phases: Bidding to be able to choose the important suit. The highest bidder gets to choose the suit.Playing the bid and either succeeding or failing. Failure incurs a penalty. The game is played with a normal 52-card deck without jokers. And if you aren’t familiar with Pidro, the game offers you the chance to practice in single player mode – and whenever you’re ready, you can play online against real people in real-time. When you do go online, you can search for available seats, and even create your own tables (private and public) and invite friends to play a round of Pidro. If you want to keep your game private, you can protect your table with a password. We deliver full cycle of development: - Wireframes and mock-ups; - GDD (game design document); - Software...

    Feedback summary:

Siligin Software invested considerable time and effort into discerning the clients’ needs and specific project objectives. They delivered fully functional apps for both platforms with an attractive visual design. Outstanding communication and a diligent work ethic secured an extended partnership.

    BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

My partner and I had an idea for a mobile game we wanted to create.

    OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Siligin Software?

We were looking for a team that was not only talented and accomplished, but also agile. Communication was a critical capability for our requirements. We partnered with Siligin Software to build out the concept for a game we'd come up with.

    SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our game is designed for mobile devices. I'm not sure what specific technologies they used to develop our game, but they built versions for both iOS and Android. I worked on the business aspects of the project while Siligin Software handled product management.

At first, we focused exclusively on the MVP build. At this point, we’re progressing into the second phase of our project to build version one. We will probably continue collaborating with them once that’s complete.

    What is the team composition?

I've interacted with five people from Siligin Software. They assigned us two main points of contact, but we've also spoken to other members of the development team.

How did you come to work with Siligin Software?

We considered several vendors before we began our project. My partner was the one who found Siligin Software. Initially, we talked to the manager of their company. After a series of several conversations, we felt that the way they operate would be compatible with our needs. Based on our evaluation, their communication style was very much in line with our own.

Out of all the firms we considered, Siligin Software was the best fit. When we asked for an initial quote, they got back to us with a detailed response very quickly. They sent us a Gant chart, timeline, and an outline of the costs for separate components. We reviewed their portfolio of graphic design and past projects and found their work to be very impressive.

How much have you invested with them?

    We’ve spent a little over $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

After we engaged with Siligin Software, our official project kickoff took place in December 2018. Our initial plan was to decide whether to continue our engagement or not based on how well the MVP turned out. Since we've had a great working relationship so far, we extended our collaboration and currently plan to continue working together.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We're pleased with the look and feel of the game's design. Siligin Software did an absolutely phenomenal job. They put a lot of effort into understanding what we wanted.

We don't have any metrics to share so far since we haven't launched the game yet. Regarding the performance of all the developers themselves, we've had a very productive working dynamic.

Siligin Software never stopped trying until they got everything right. Even when they didn't get everything right every single time, it wasn't their fault nor ours. That's simply how most projects go.

How did Siligin Software perform from a project management standpoint?

At first, we started off using the Gant chart they made. Since my partner is less technically-focused, he preferred to work through Skype. Siligin Software made themselves completely available to us through our platforms of choice. We also use email to stay in touch. While we haven't used many project management tools between us, I know they use several internally.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Communication is Siligin Software's greatest strength. Despite our substantial time zone difference, they made themselves available whenever we needed. At times, they'd even join calls with us on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings. They worked really hard to overcome the time difference between us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don't think so. During one week, all the developers got sick, but that's not their fault at all. Ideally, they could have someone available at all times regardless of personal issues.

The game entirely satisfied expectations and was delivered on time, within budget, and fully functioning. The Siligin Software team was a crucial partner and provided key insights throughout development. They were receptive to feedback and responsive to the project’s needs.

    BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the founder of Indeema Software, a US-based outsourcing company. We create mobile and web applications for our customers in a range of fields, including IoT, blockchain products, etc.

    OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Siligin Software?

We hired Siligin Software to help us with game development. We didn’t have the in-house resources or artistic talent needed to develop the game internally.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted the game to be a simple, easy-to-play activity with popular, classic characters. Ideally, the game will allow users to navigate with their character and have competitions with other players.

    SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I looked for vendors online and received recommendations. We created a shortlist and emailed a few companies. After multiple calls with Siligin, we felt they were the right fit. Their approach and expertise stood out to us, and they were within our budget.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Siligin programmed the entire game and developed it from start to finish. Before beginning the technical work, Andriy (CTO & Co-Founder, Siligin Software) advised us on how to improve our wireframes for the game. Once we finalized those aspects, their team built our game from scratch for both iOS and Andriod devices. They created the 2D animations, wrote the code, and tested the product. Their team helped us release the game and currently provide support for the platform if needed.

    What was the team composition?

Siligin Software provided two developers, an artist, animator, project manager, and tester who all worked full-time for the project.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We were able to release the game on time, which was very important to us. The quality of the code and overall game is strong. We’re fully satisfied with the art and functionality of the platform, too.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We used Jira and Bitbucket to manage the project. To communicate, Siligin Software was available for Skype calls and used Slack, as well. They handled the work effectively, and we had agreed upon timelines and budgets. Their team incorporated our feedback to their work. We worked in sprints and had regular meetings to maintain a productive and informative collaboration.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their team was highly skilled and communicative—every member was talented and professional. We had a successful development process because of their approach. Siligin Software knew what we wanted and ensured all questions were answered early on in the project. We were impressed with the work their developers and artists produced.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There’s nothing I can think of for them to improve, everything was done professionally and on schedule.

Combating a non-optimal budget and problematic legacy code, Siligin Software has delivered all requested features, satisfying key stakeholders. They’ve introduced new team members seamlessly and provided excellent availability. Customers can expect a trustworthy, helpful team.

    BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Oneapps, a game development company.

    OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Siligin Software?

We had an online game developed, but it had too many issues and bugs. People were complaining, so we needed to find a new solution quickly.

    SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We Skyped with Petro (Co-Founder, Siligin Software) a few times and described our issues. We showed them the code for the client side, but we never gave them the backend code for the servers because they’re not server side. We decided to keep that in-house only.

They did a code review and suggested changes, which they then implemented. We started to have weekly meetings more and more, and after they fixed other assorted issues (network, server communication, code optimization), we entered into deeper cooperation. They developed new features for the game using legacy code we had. All their work is in Unity.

    What is the team composition?

    We’re working with three developers.

How did you come to work with Siligin Software?

We contacted a few companies on Upwork but chose Siligin Software because they were the most affordable.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $20,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together for 18 months. Currently, we’re using them part-time.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Today, we have 35,000 players, and that’s without spending a single dollar on marketing. We create revenue every month, and we’re constantly growing. It hasn't been a perfect cooperation, but it’s not their fault. They should have written the whole game from scratch, but they tried to patch it together for us in a cheap, easy way. The quality of work is good. I can’t expect more based on the budget we’re working with. I’m very satisfied with their work.

How did Siligin Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re honest and easy to cooperate with. We can be very open with them and talk about anything. They’re also available in the evenings and on weekends if needed. We have a good level of communication, and we work through Trello and Jira. Some of the communication isn’t 100%, but we bear an equal part of that responsibility. They hit 90% of our deadlines, and the ones they miss are because of us.

They made some changes to the team, but they come back to us with new developers. The transitions have gone well every time. I hope to use them for many more projects in the future.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m happy with them so far, and I hope I can do more projects with them. They’ve helped us out quickly at a good price.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If they’re unclear about something, they ought to ask more questions. We’ve had a few delays because too many questions weren’t asked.

I’m the co-founder of a web development agency.

    OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Siligin Software?

We wanted to develop a mobile game app for Android. Our target audience was young parents who want their kids to learn new things. Through a game experience, it’s much easier to engage children in educational materials.

    SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Siligin Software developed our Android app that runs an educational game for kids. It’s a native app using Java and Unity. They suggested ways make it in a much better way than I had thought of initially.

    What is the team composition?

I worked with Petro (Co-Founder, Siligin Software), who managed the project. There were also developers and a tester involved.

How did you come to work with Siligin Software?

I found Siligin Software along with several other companies on Upwork and decided to hire them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $60,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from November 2017–May 2018.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since we launched the product with Siligin Software’s support, we’ve been getting more and more users. It was a perfect collaboration, and we plan to start working together on further efforts soon. We need to add new aspects like graphic skins to the app. It was a great experience, and I was fully satisfied. Working together was very easy.

How did Siligin Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re pleased with how Siligin Software managed the project. They kept to our deadlines and used Jira for ticketing. We communicated over Slack and Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Siligin Software’s expertise is their greatest strength. When I decided to start the project, I talked to many other companies who seemed much less experienced.

The team is skilled at managing deadlines and the scope of a project. They really know how to build and launch products, and even showed me a faster way to do so.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I was satisfied with their work.
