Introduce your business and what you do there? 

I’m the founder of Park Circle Tech, an IT services firm.

What challenge were you trying to address with ShortHills Tech?

We were looking to outsource custom development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

ShortHills Tech has developed a custom web platform that uses a machine learning model to help customers review and choose the right product for them. We initially provided documentation, including examples of use cases we needed to solve. 

They’ve done front- and backend development, automation, data pipelines, training for the machine learning models, and more. Python, React.js, and React Native are some of the stack they’ve used. The team currently provides ongoing support.

What is the team composition? 

We work with a project manager, six engineers, two data scientists, and four data engineers.

How did you come to work with ShortHills Tech?

We were impressed by their experience, background in technology, and effective communication. 

How much have you invested with them? 

We’ve spent $400,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together around January 2020, and it’s an ongoing relationship.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve successfully launched the product. Also, we’re seeing good traffic flow and high ratings. We’re quite happy with the team and the quality of their work.

How did ShortHills Tech perform from a project management perspective? 

They communicate well, making it easy for our internal team to understand goals and expected outcomes. They’re available and responsive, and we track tasks and progress through a dashboard.

We have daily standups and weekly or bi-weekly Zoom meetings. We also communicate via email.

What did you find most impressive about them? 

Their leadership is strong — they have a background in technology and product development. Also, ShortHills Tech possesses a good understanding of the e-commerce industry.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could increase their knowledge and skillset regarding Google. Nonetheless, we’re happy with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Explain your vision and constraints. Also, think about how you’ll scale your MVP with additional features and prioritize them down the road.
