Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and VP of business development for a B2B video platform. It’s a sales and marketing platform for tech verticals in B2B space.

What challenge were you trying to address with Shipgig Ventures Pvt Ltd?

We wanted to build quality technology.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We built a self-service, multi-component, and multi-feature platform. We began developing the platform before we brought them on board, but now they’ve taken ownership for a lot of the development. While we hired another UI designer for wireframing and product management specification development, Shipgig Ventures Pvt Ltd worked with them to develop the rest.

They were responsible for all aspects of our backend database, frontend tools, and analytics. Despite an incomplete set of specifications, they were able to interact with the UI designer to deliver what we need.

What is the team composition?

The size of our team has varied between 3–15 people at a time. We communicate primarily through Vivek (CEO, Shipgig Ventures Pvt Ltd), but we’ve also gotten to know some other people on the team and they’re very responsive.

How did you come to work with Shipgig Ventures Pvt Ltd?

We were working with Vivek and another outfitter when Vivek started Shipgig Ventures Pvt Ltd. We weren’t very happy with our other provider, so we went with him.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent somewhere close $250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in January 2016 and is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I can’t recommend them enough. They’ve impressed me on all fronts—technical ability, quality of work, responsiveness, communication, and delivery time. They do whatever it takes to complete things under tight deadlines. Whenever we have a problem, they will do whatever it takes to get things sorted out. Naturally, we enjoy working with them because things run smoothly and they deliver above what’s expected.

How did Shipgig Ventures Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated over Slack, email, Skype, WhatsApp, voice message, or really whatever is needed at the moment. They’re very different than other offshore development boutiques we’ve worked with because they’re conscious of the communication aspect.

They put in extra hours without being prodded. We’ve received things from them over weekends or late at night because they know things need to get done.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve spent some time with them, and they’re delightful. Vivek is a fantastic partner. He’s sincere, honest, gentle and smart. They work hard to deliver beyond our expectations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything that is deficient.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Treat them with respect. I think a lot of other companies don’t treat offshore developers well, but having mutual respect goes a long way.
