I needed an assistant for myself with good English and strong organizational skills.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Sharkhelpers are helping me with HR services. They’ve provided me with a full-time assistant who deals with all of my partnership work, calendar, diary management, client administration, newsletter, and events. In addition, they’ve provided me with resources for my other company; they take care of administrative work — they engage with 5–6 of my clients.
For the sourcing process, Sharkhelpers asks me for the profile of the type of people I’m looking for. After that, they go through an interview process with the different candidate profiles, and consequently, we select how many people we want to interview to choose the candidate we’ll hire. Sharkhelpers team takes care of the onboarding process afterward to ensure that the new employee is trained on any system and tools we want to use.
Overall, they’ve provided us with 10–15 workers for our organization.

I mainly work with Jorge (Team Leader Manager) and Paola (CEO).

They reached out to me; I’m the director of operations for one of my agencies, so they sent out a cold email offering their services, and at the time, I was actively looking for an assistant for myself. After that, we started working together.

They’re an easy-to-work-with team with good communication. They also take care of their staff and check with me to see if I need help with anything. Their team is also responsive and meets deadlines. In terms of tools, we use email and WhatsApp.

They take care of their employees and are very careful to select the right candidates for each company, which is very important — they take the extra effort to ensure a successful partnership.

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — I’m happy with everything regarding their work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be clear on the profile of the person you’re looking for; for this relationship to work, you have to be clear on your expectations and what the responsibilities will look like. Also, you have to have the time to invest in training and coaching the person working with you so both can learn and grow together. With that being said, the number one important thing is finding someone with a good personality; once you have that, you can teach them anything.

We needed recruiting services.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We've been working with Sharkhelpers for several years, and the team has helped us recruit our operations manager. Around half a year ago, Sharkhelpers recruited our frontend developer. We've shared our job descriptions and requirements with Sharkhelpers regarding timeframes, time zones, and English proficiency, among other things. The team has screened candidates for us and provided a list of selected profiles.
We've reviewed the candidates' resumes to see which talents fit our job description and requirements, and then we've proceeded to the interview process. We've managed the candidates' onboarding process, and Sharkhelpers has an internal onboarding that is coincidentally similar to our rules and culture.
We've conducted a 30-day onboarding with the recruited candidates, and Sharkhelpers has offered periodic follow-ups after 30, 60, and 90 days to assess their performance and make corrections as needed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Sharkhelpers has provided me with one of the best talents on my team. The most significant measurement of the success of our collaboration with Sharkhelpers is a recent rebranding process we've gone through. The operations manager recruited by the team has been my right-hand person throughout the years. She's been here since we transitioned ownership when we had a previous owner who exited while she was onboarding. Without our operations manager, this rebrand wouldn't have happened.
We had a previous logo and did a rebrand two months ago. This rebranding shows how much we've grown during that time of support from one of the talents that Sharkhelpers has provided. The team is an essential partner that recruits good talent and is a central member of our team. Most of the candidates we interviewed during the recruitment process were aligned with us or weren't very far off.
We had worked with other recruiting agencies before who just shoved us candidates, and it was a waste of time. Sharkhelpers is far from that and really listens to our requirements, getting into the specific skills we seek in a candidate. Sharkhelpers has been helpful and followed up with the right questions. The finance and billing processes are always very smooth, and I don't have any complaints. The entire team, in unison, has always been very supportive.
How did Sharkhelpers perform from a project management standpoint?
Our timeframe from the candidates' interviews to hiring has lasted 2–3 weeks, which is ideal for a small company boutique agency like us. When we need to scale, we need to move quickly, and Sharkhelpers has been very supportive and helpful. We genuinely like that Sharkhelpers has open communication via email and provides us with a lot of insight regarding the talent's work progress and how to support our internal team to help them grow and stay aligned with our goals.
We've never had a negative experience working with Sharkhelpers. We always communicate clearly and highly recommend them. I hired our operations manager on the spot because I liked her so much. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

We like the distance we have with the team and communication cadence. The team has a hands-off approach, and at the same time, they respond and answer us when we need support.

I can't think of anything for the team to improve.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
I truly recommend Sharkhelpers because they understand agency owners and the kind of support they need. The team has a wide spread of Latin American recruiting talents. My company is minority- and women-owned, so we have a culture similar to that of Sharkhelpers. We respect each other's time and don't take advantage of the flexibility we give each other. We respect the teammates' time off, and Sharkhelpers' candidates don't take advantage of working from home.
We've worked with service providers who weren't responsive and didn't check their email. We've found trust in the talents recruited by Sharkhelpers and have had great success finding the right talents, even though they've only recruited two teammates.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sharkhelpers?
We were struggling with finding quality talent, so we engaged Sharkhelpers to provide us with recruitment assistance.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We collaborated with Sharkhelpers to write out the job description for each of the roles we needed to fill. We explained the qualifications for each role, and their team bridged the gap where some of our requirements were a bit ambiguous. Following that, Sharkhelpers proceeded to find candidates who could help us coordinate projects, manage our entire sales pipeline, and assist with backend development work.
Sharkhelpers also screened each candidate to make sure that they aligned with the demographic of our clientele. For instance, they searched for talents that were very responsive and very fluent in the English language — since we mostly deal with American and Canadian merchants. These talents were based out of Colombia, but could easily pass as native English speakers.
Thus far, the team has screened around 5–6 applicants for the project coordinator role and 4–5 for the sales coordinator position.

In terms of meeting deadlines, they’ve been very good. There were some instances where they missed the mark slightly, but they always found a way to deliver on our expectations. In that regard, they’ve been very impressive.
We typically communicate via Slack and hold meetings over Zoom. Sharkhelpers has been very proactive when it comes to messaging us and coordinating calls and tasks.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’re very impressed with Sharkhelper’s level of productivity. They do thorough research and always make themselves available throughout the day. They can even accommodate us during late hours at the end of the week, which says a lot about their hustle.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We could benefit from doing a bit more due diligence on the candidates so that we know if a person can commit to the role immediately or if we need to find someone else in their stead. Other than that, there’s nothing for them to improve on.
