BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am a part-owner in charge of operations for our business. We sell trading cards, games, and other gaming paraphernalia. We will eventually open the business up to family boardgame nights, online gaming meetups, and other events.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Server Sorcery?

We started in online sales and just recently opened a brick and mortar store. We needed technical support to keep our business running and secure.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They did an array of technical work for us. They helped us set up high-speed internet and made sure we were using the right technology to keep our information secure. We put in a server with the appropriate antivirus software and firewall. They also helped with general tech support, including setting up our printers and helping us find the right domain name. Future projects with them will include using our network security for apps, cameras, and other devices.

What is the team composition?

They have a small team on their side, but the owner is my main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Server Sorcery?

We originally found them through a friend of ours who liked working with them. They are extremely knowledgeable and have a lot of experience in the field. They started by helping me fix security issues on my personal computer and explained the necessity of internet security to protect our customers’ information. We liked that they had our customers in mind right away.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2018 and they still support us.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

So much of what we do relies on the internet, security, and other technology. They’re crucial to our business and they do a great job. We’ve had no issues with any of our technical needs since we started working with them.

How did Server Sorcery perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very responsive and available at a moment’s notice if I need something urgently. We can contact them at any time via text, phone, or email. They also introduced us to Slack, so we can communicate from any location. They also integrated with our Google calendar.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re quick to respond and their communication is amazing.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any recommendations for them.
