Sensi Labs is very effective in delivering value added to our customers. In most cases customers need an effective way for getting production status information from robotized stations to their ERP and MES systems. Additionally, quite often clients are looking for flexible way of producing which involves using machine learning and AI solutions. We may state, that software solution Sensi Labs delivers suit to the industry 4.0 solutions.

What were your goals for this project?

The main goals were: 1. Make flexible robotized production station with short time of retrofitting in case of change production needs 2. Getting various information from sensors and then finding the patterns which could help predict breakage of machine components. That is vital in prediction maintenance of station. 3. Integrate station with customers software ERP and MES 4. Some sort of digital signage for displaying production status 5. Using advanced ML and AI algorithms for machine vision systems for finding orientation of details with the complicated shape or structure and for quality control.

We started the project together and the quality of work and professional attitude convinced us to work st different projects too.

At the beginning they invited us to their headquarter in order to show their capabilities and ask about our needs. As we agreed to start working together there were a couple cyclic meetings with engineers from both side and after each we got short statement what was agreed during the meeting. After finishing of each step they were well prepared for showing us what is done and, what is more important, their ideas and recommendations. At the end they worked with us tightly in order to make implementation time as short as possible.

What was the team composition?

The project was handled by project manager, five developers and tester. If I had any doubts CEO was always available.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We could offer to the clients complete solution tailored exactly to their needs. Having possibility to offer production station with complete software environment gave to our company great competitive advantage comparing to other companies on the marked.

We spoke the same language in terms of business and technology, which is always a solid foundation for a successful project.

I had an overall pretty good experience. They are very diligent, which translates to the high quality they deliver. We appreciated their transparent practices and attention to detail. In this case we hired Sensi Labs to help us in creation of crucial elements of developed software which is a part of bigger project for one of our customers. Generally Sensi Labs developers help us to develop software in Java/C#/PHP/Python technologies.

We needed a system that was designed to meet our customer requirements. We required C#/.NET technology and ability to work with distributed architecture and deep integration with customer legacy systems.

We have noticed during the previous cooperation with the CEO that Sensi Labs is a highly knowledgeable and effective team, so we chose them for our project. Initially, we set the timeframe and the system specification. Then, after presenting the costs, we started cooperation.

Project we do with Sensi Labs is a part of bigger project for our customer. We have to create, deploy and maintain distributed document generation tool. Sensi Labs' developers enrich our agile team and are responsible for end-to-end and continuous software delivery.

Sensi Labs developers are crucial part of our agile team. We also cooperate directly with CEO. In the time of writing the review we work with four software developers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Competence and knowledge of the Sensi Labs team helped us to work very efficiently and react very fast for requested changes. This and ability to work in flexible way convinces our customer that we provide high level service.

The team is managed by us using agile methodology. We provide project manager, architect, analyst and testers. Sensi Labs provides developers. Customer provides Product Owner. We use Jira, GitLab, Teams and CI/CD tools. We communicate in English daily.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Sensi Labs offered a one-stop solution. With a lot of companies, it is rare to get in touch with the CEO. Being able to talk to Paweł directly and having a transparent dialogue with him separates them from other companies.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As of right now, there is nothing that comes to my mind that needs improving. I am satisfied with how the entire process has been going. What will accurately determine their value will be the results.

One of their developers is building a digital dashboard for our client. He’s doing the frontend of the dashboard as well as backend syncs. They aren’t doing the design.

The dashboard presents complex data regarding the offline behavior of the users. It will show different charts and data visualizations that will be easy to read quickly and analyze. They’re using PHP.

Our main point of contact is the CEO, and there’s one developer right now. Usually, he works in their office but he comes every second week to our office for one day.

We invest about 2,500 euros per-month (approximately $10,000 to $49,999 USD).

We started working together in January 2019 and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’re quite efficient at building the dashboard. We evaluate it every day, and it’s looking as we wanted it to. Everything is going according to plan.

One of our business people has daily calls with them. We’re in constant contact over Skype, and they’re very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are delivering according to plan.

The communication at the beginning of the cooperation was not as good as it could have been. We quickly found that out and invited them to the office. This way, they could understand the context faster and do much better work at developing things according to our expectations.

Our research was based on paper and digital document but we haven't got a proper database that would help our work. We've hired Sensi Labs to translate our research requirements into technical requirements and build an application that fulfils our needs.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to create flexible and easy to maintain the researcher's database. The goal also was to make it easy to use for people without IT technical knowledge, so we won't need constant support to expand our data tables.

How did you select this vendor?

They were recommended to us as a company who listens and understands customers needs and are able to make them real.

They've started with inviting us to workshops during which they're CTO and development team was present. They've asked a lot of questions to understand what we want to achieve - this didn't require for us to have any technical knowledge. We just said what we need. Then they've analysed it and came up with an idea of how to make it happen, what tech stack is required, what are pros and cons and how would it work. They've patiently explained it all and made sure we understand everything.

Then, once we've accepted it, they've started to work on it. Every two weeks we had a meeting during which they've shown progress and explained what was done. We had an opportunity then to correct if course they've taken was not perfect. But most of the time, it was perfect. Once the project was delivered they've arranged a group session during which they've taught everyone involved on our end how to use this application. They were very understanding, flexible and helpful all the time.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

It allowed us to both works digitally on our research and publish this research online with one click. It changed the way we work in a very positive way, we've gained a lot of time that can be allocated in proper archaeological research.

Their CTO and Project Manager were available on every demand and were patient in explaining what they are doing and how they do it. We've felt we have full control on the project.

Their openness, willingness and patience to explain everything and understand our requirements. They valued this cooperation and wanted to help us build the best system possible. Their technical knowledge is amazing, we had zero problems with the application after it was deployed. It is very impressive.

We are a UK used car classified portal. Effectively, we work with 1,500 dealers who post stock on our site and with consumers shopping for used vehicles. I'm the managing director.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sensi Labs Sp. z o.o?

We had a platform built in PHP and Drupal, but the infrastructure was starting to break as we made changes to the site. Without a series of workarounds and hacks, we couldn't use the site properly. We decided to create a custom platform for the security of the site and the business.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we went through a detailed analysis of the existing site. We had workshops that covered what we wanted the site to do, user journeys, functionality, and things that weren't working properly on the old site. We provided our specifications, and they captured everything we required. We gave them some artistic license, but we didn't want to move very far from our existing branding and user journey. We added functionality, but weren't completely replacing what we had on the user-facing side.

What is the team composition?

We have one main point of contact, and we worked with a team of about eight on and off.

How did you come to work with Sensi Labs Sp. z o.o?

They had experience in the UK automotive market, and they'd worked with one of our partners. They did some support work for us on the old site, so we already had an idea of how they worked when this project began.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about £70,000 (approximately $87,000 USD) in total. That was slightly higher than the original project, but we added extra functionality after our initial discussions.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in August 2018, and we still have a great relationship with them. We transitioned to the new platform in November 2018, and they support smaller projects now.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We're really pleased with the project. The site is far quicker, and we operate at about 25-30% capacity. Before, we were at about 90% capacity. They've given us a great foundation for growth.

How did Sensi Labs Sp. z o.o. perform from a project management standpoint?

We visited them a few times and had a good idea of who the team was, and they had a good understanding of what we wanted. We had a lot of conversations over Skype, and they have their own management software where we can log tickets and communicate with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're very detailed, passionate, and forthcoming about their ideas. They think outside the box and come up with solutions to problems we hadn't even considered. They gave us recommendations for user journeys, but they never overpowered us. If we wanted them to make changes they hadn't recommended, they were always willing to go along with us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We were really happy with them. There was a little staff turnover partway through the project, but that wasn't something they did wrong. It wasn't foreseen, and we don't fault them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Regular communication is key. We were detailed right away, and they spoke very good English. We learned not to leave any ambiguity, as they will build exactly to your specifications.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sensi Labs Sp. z o.o.?

We had a lot of work and needed help with web development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re helping with web-based solutions for financial institutions. They helped me with several projects, most of which were connected with the products I developed for fund investment companies. These products are web solutions to make it possible to sell some investments for individual contributors.

 When I have platforms and have to do, new deployments for new customers, new customization, or new functionalities, I’d give them a project to make the whole project and deployment for one of our customers.

The second way we worked is I borrowed their programmers and I put them in my team. The worked on developing some bigger tool. They use PHP and Angular coding languages. The projects each took about six months.

We generally worked with three people. I was in contact with Pawel (CEO, Sensi Labs Sp. z o.o.). They had a project manager dedicated to the project.

I was looking for a company that wasn’t huge but had a portfolio showing they’ve accomplished some things. I did an online search and also talked with some people I know. I got good references about them from colleagues.

Each six-month project was $100,000.

We started working together in June 2017 and the project lasted until December 2018.

Generally, their work was really good. They finished the fixed price projects on time and the customers were happy. I’m happy with the quality of work they delivered. We’ll hire them again in the future.
