A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of sales at a live chat solution serving clients in very specific industries. We focus on and emphasize having meaningful conversations with website visitors.
After our clients’ marketing efforts and investments to drive people to their websites — which we consider their virtual front door — we’re there to meet their end customers and answer in-depth questions. Then, we garner information, build relationships, and pass those along to the clients. Overall, we aim to drive top-line ROI for them.
What challenge were you trying to address with Senior Living Smart?
Getting fresh new content has been a challenge for us, and we also want to get testimonials and data that we can send to our partners. On top of that, we needed more targeted SEO and marketing efforts.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Senior Living Smart does our marketing site development, SEO, and social media campaigns. On top of that, they create one-page content that contains testimonials and data analyses, which we send out to people via email, newsletters, or even physically. That’s the general outline of what they do for us.
We continue to work with them to ramp up our social media presence and achieve more notoriety out there. These efforts have become a lot better as we’ve grown our relationship, but we’re still working on improving them through targeted online and social media exposure.
Moreover, we collaborate with them as much as we can to provide promotional pricing to the clients that we have. We also need things like better business cards and data analytics sheets that look prettier than a normal Excel spreadsheet.
What is the team composition?
We work with three people from their team.
How did you come to work with Senior Living Smart?
They’d been working with our company when I came here. Our CEOs had a close relationship, and they likely met in past conferences specific to the industries that we served.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent close to $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2018, and the partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since we’ve started working together, our site traffic has gone up by about 20%–30%.
How did Senior Living Smart perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate weekly to discuss the strategies that we’re going to implement.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What’s been nice for us is that Senior Living Smart genuinely cares about our company even though things haven’t been perfect for them. They have a great line of communication, and they assign specific account managers for us to work with. As a result, getting a hold of them is much easier than in other marketing companies.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They should be a little more proactive and attain a more consultative role instead of waiting for us to go to them with things that we hope they can improve upon. They can bring up ideas and educate us a bit more without assuming that we know a lot about marketing.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Instead of hoping that the Senior Living Smart team will come to you to give their two cents, make sure that you also go to them with a clear idea of what you want. Set up deadlines for what they should do or how often you want to meet them. They’ll be responsive once you provide those details, but the engagement will definitely take some effort on your part.
Thanks to Senior Living Smart’s work, the firm’s site traffic has risen by about 20%–30%. The team communicates closely with the client, who praises their responsiveness. However, the team could take a more proactive approach to the engagement, which the company requires as they ramp up campaigns.
