Since 2012, Selesti has produced multiple versions of the 7billionideas website as well as Android & iPhone apps for its thousands of users.
The ideation platform's members have generated over 50,000 new ideas, many of which have spawned startup businesses of their own, that 7billionideas then offer mentoring and consultancy to.
Over 60,000 students worldwide are engaged in 7billionideas education programme — 7billeducation — which inspires students and teachers to think big about the possibilities of their ideas.
The growth of 7billionideas as a company — from an idea borne out of a pub discussion, to a successful business employing a team of talented people — has been truly staggering, and we’re delighted to have been trusted to be along for the whole ride.
We helped MOMA, makers of healthy porridge and bircher muesli breakfasts, to get their website into shape with a technical SEO audit and action plan.
While the vast majority of MOMA’s breakfasts are purchased in supermarkets across the UK, they still need strong visibility on search engines so they can grow brand awareness (and of course, show up when people search for their products).
From our initial research, we identified a few issues with their website’s technical setup that were contrary to best practice and likely hindering the site’s search visibility. With that in mind, we rolled out a full technical SEO audit to identify what else may need to be changed — and crucially, how to fix it.
The next stage was to work with MOMA to implement the recommended changes. Thanks to our in-house WordPress and Shopify expertise, we were able to implement technical changes to the site directly, making the process quick and easy.
We also tidied up MOMA’s blog and devised a content plan to fill some gaps in their strategy, helping to ensure the site would be visible for the things that MOMA’s customers were searching for online.
MOMA’s website now meets a much higher standard from a technical SEO point of view, helping to improve the brand’s visibility in search engines. The improved technical set up has contributed to a 21% increase in organic traffic since the technical audit findings started to be implemented.
We’ve been working with The Big Issue for over five years, helping them to reach their digital marketing goals for The Big Issue website as well as The Big Issue Foundation, the magazine’s charity arm. Our support included upskilling team to help them manage more in-house.
The Big Issue content team wanted to learn more about optimising their blog posts so they could reach a larger audience and improve their visibility in Google. We invited them to our London office for a digital marketing training session to demystify the often complex world of SEO.
The Big Issue team came away from the training with a greater understanding of how to consider SEO as part of their writing process, dispelling old myths they’d heard about SEO, and reminding them that while Google will see their content, ultimately they are still writing for users.
We also worked with The Big Issue Foundation marketing team, upskilling them in content strategy so they could get the charity’s message across effectively using SEO.
Funkin Cocktails, an A.G. Barr brand that produces cocktail mixes for trade and consumers, were in the market for a new eCommerce site.
The company required something that would integrate with their ERP system Greentree so they could better manage stock levels on-site.
We took an agile, MVP approach to build and helped Funkin Cocktails prioritise functionality requests during scoping, so that core functionality would be live in time for their deadline.

Ross Mendham secured investment from Peter Jones for his Barenaked Foods business and an immovable deadline was set. We had to produce an eCommerce site to coincide with his Dragons' Den episode airing.
The high level of traffic expected straight after launch made this project truly unique to work on. Dragons’ Den is viewed by 1.9 million people, which meant the website would have to be able to handle an influx of visitors in the days after the show.
Whilst the noodles are a winning product, they're fairly transparent so our design team introduced blocks of colour and creative styling throughout the website.
Combining the styling and colour blocks with inspiring imagery of delicious looking food boosts the aesthetics of the website and entice people to view more pages.
“Selesti went beyond the call of duty and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone that is looking for new ideas and superb service.”
Ross Mendham, Dragons' Den Winner & CEO, Barenaked Foods
Lexham Insurance approached us with a challenge — to reduce their reliance on margin-squeezing aggregators and increase sales through their website.
We chose a digital PR approach to achieve our SEO objectives, utilising a mixture of content marketing, editorial placement and survey campaigns, as brand awareness was a weak point for the motorcycle insurance brand.
Paired with an optimised PPC campaign that resulted in a 20% uplift in sales and 31% uplift in quotes, we both increased Lexham Insurance’s search rankings and increased conversions.

Selesti designed and developed Smiles & Tears — an app that aims to help bereaved children address their feelings in a healthy way for Nelson's Journey.
Nelson's Journey are a Norfolk charity that supports children and young people up to their 18th birthday who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life.
Launched in early 2016, the app has helped over 1,000 young people globally. In 2018 Smiles & Tears was awarded ‘highly commended’ at the national Children & Young People Now Awards within the Charity category — placing them 2nd out of 9 finalists.
This is a huge achievement. The Children & Young People Now Awards has become the gold standard for everyone working with children, young people and families, recognising innovation and excellence in organisations that work with and support this age group.
"Selesti were absolutely brilliant in working so closely with our Youth Panel to ensure that the App’s functionality was exactly how the young people had proposed. By working so closely in partnership, bereaved children across the world are now able to freely download a tool that can help them at a really difficult time." - Simon Wright, Chief Executive, Nelson's Journey
"The designers have grasped the look and feel that we wanted to achieve, it is young person friendly and clearly targeted at those users." - Sophie Berry, Funding & Marketing Manager, Nelson's Journey
