Introduce your business and what you do there.
My husband and I own an optometry clinic. We’ve been in business since August 2005.
What challenge were you trying to address with SecureTech?
We were operating a third location. We wanted to have all of our locations networked to transfer calls between offices and have more continuity for our patients.
What was the scope of their involvement?
SecureTech was able to figure out a networking solution for us, ultimately creating a more secure network environment for our business.
The first project was getting our offices connected by creating the servers and platforms for us to be able to communicate within the network. Then, the project moved into a maintenance project. They make sure our computers are updated and virus-free, complete security checks, and have network redundancy built in for us. Their team makes sure our employees have access to what they need in order to be productive every day.
What is the team composition?
Depending on the project, it’s usually between 2–9 people doing various aspects.
How did you come to work with SecureTech?
Brandon (President & Owner) is from my hometown. We also both graduated from the same institution. We were both honored as fast-growing companies led by people from our school community.
At the conference, we ended up meeting each other and talking about our businesses. The more we talked, the more he knew that he could help me with my goals for expansion.
How much have you invested with them?
I would say over half a million dollars.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in November 2010. It’s been continuous support.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since we’ve started working with them, we’ve expanded other locations and opened up another. SecureTech handles all of the web support and services for those as well.
We’re able to continuously work without issue. If issues do occur, SecureTech resolves them quickly. As long as those are kept up with and I have happy team members, then I’m happy.
How did SecureTech perform from a project management standpoint?
They have a very specific scope for each project. We gather all of the data to see what we need to accomplish, and from there, we determine what we’re going to do. They write out the whole scope of work. Everything is very detailed and clear.
The team also checks in every week to give us status updates.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The team is very customer-centric and service-centric. Over the past ten years, I’ve seen an evolution of their company with our company. What’s missing from other providers is that no one is able to speak in plain English without all of the data. I’ve spoken to a lot of people in the past that were condescending.
Brandon trains his personnel to understand what the client wants and truly listen to what the problem is before determining what to do next.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Over the years, we’ve both had our growing pains. They realize that the core of their business is to keep their clients happy and satisfied.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Lay it all out. I’m still guilty of holding my plans close to my heart. In order to be successful with SecureTech, you have to throw it all out there. They ask a lot of questions about what you want to do with your business. You might think about what the questions have to do with IT, but all of the pieces that they’re looking at, they’re on top of it.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the controller for Baxter Contracting, LLC. We’re in the construction business.
What challenge were you trying to address with SecureTech?
We brought them on to help us with a big project when we segregated from our developer.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our company and our developer are owned by the same investor, but we’re two different legal entities. Our server was set up in their office. In an effort for us to better manage the construction side of the business, we needed to segregate completely.
A big part of that was onboarding our own server and segregating our system from the development system from the other company, this also included physically moving the hardware. This was no easy task because we did not shut down during the entire process. There were a lot of moving pieces and absolutely no interruption to our business.
What is the team composition?
We worked with their entire team. We coordinated most of the work with Brandon (President & Owner) but his whole team was involved.
How did you come to work with SecureTech?
We chose them because of their reputation. We have a good history with them, and they have a great reputation.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested about $60,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement was from March–December 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They provided a schedule of when things would occur. It included a critical path of what would occur and who was to work on what. Their team kept us informed throughout the entire process. Additionally, they finished on time and within budget.
How did SecureTech perform from a project management standpoint?
We had regular meetings with them and compared the model to the actual performance as the work was done. We kept on track throughout the engagement to make sure everything stayed on schedule and within budget. They utilized a project management tool.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their professionalism and communication with us. Their team is very knowledgeable about the services they provide. They’re highly experienced at what they do. I’d recommend them wholeheartedly.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I wouldn’t change a thing. I’d use them again.

Take their experience and reputation into consideration. SecureTech is highly experienced and they have an exceptional team with diverse knowledge. They have all the resources available for someone who doesn’t have their own IT department.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the vice president of information systems for McMillin Texas Homes, a homebuilding company in San Antonio, Texas. We build roughly 80 to 100 houses a year, ranging from $400,000–$500,000.
What challenge were you trying to address with SecureTech?
We were moving from an old domain to a newer one that supported and reflected our business better. We also required a server migration.
What was the scope of their involvement?
SecureTech created a new domain for our company, as well as new servers in Windows. The team migrated all data, applications, and other materials from our old platform to the new one.
They worked fully remotely, though they had installed our original infrastructure and had detailed knowledge of the technology in place already.
What is the team composition?
We mostly worked with four people.

We’ve been partnering with SecureTech for almost 20 years, and we have a history of successful projects together.

This project took place between September-December 2019.

SecureTech was extremely flexible throughout the project even though it was a major undertaking. Most people working in the office don’t even realize their work took place — it was that seamless.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. If there were ever any delays in the project, it was on our side.

SecureTech is a great team to work with. I recommend partnering with them if you have the opportunity.
