Seattle Advertising the Northwest leader

Seattle advertising launched its website on the internet in October of 1989 as a file on ARCHIE and has the distinction of being the worlds first web design firm.

Site #202 on the internet.

Since then Seattle advertising has been at the forefront of design, branding, and SEO since the early days of the internet. Our staff is made up of Google and Bing engineers and our clients have us brand and advertise new apps, new software, small businesses, and large corporations that seek to have an epic brand that really shines on the internet!

We coined the phrase "SEO" in 1991 but SEO no longer is effective.

Today, its all about reviews, press, content, and branding.

We launch the best apps in the world and it all boils downt to branding first, then advertising.

Our press relationships allow us to get featured articles across the digital spectrum and our ability to brand with reviews and map certifications is legendary.

Feedback summary:

Each optimized platform secured top-ranked keyword results on both Google and Bing. Revamped designs imbue them with unique, modern aesthetics. All four hotels are now the first Google Maps result up to 75 miles away. Informed, pleasant, and transparent, Seattle Advertising was a reliable partner.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I run the bar program for a family-owned string of boutique hotels on the West Coast. Our company has several brands. Many locations have their own dining establishments like a bar or restaurant.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Seattle Advertising, Inc?

Our websites were outdated and we only had one map on Google that pointed to our parent property. Our project focused on revamping the design for each hotel’s specific web page. In addition, we needed distinct Google Maps ads to promote each of our locations.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted each of our properties to have its own unique website and show up as a separate location on Google Maps.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We heard about Julian (Vice President, Seattle Advertising, Inc) from some of the developers at a GPS company who often stay at our hotels. We looked up Seattle Advertising on Google and contacted them about supporting this project.

Describe the project in detail.

Seattle Advertising designed and developed four different websites for each of our properties. They optimized each platform to improved its search rankings for the establishment’s corresponding city. Lastly, they targeted visibility for each hotel’s corresponding ad on Google Maps.

What was the team composition?

We worked directly with Dan Anderson.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?

Seattle Advertising produced results that are well worth the money we invested in their services. The SEO strategy they implemented ranked our sites at the top of relevant search results on both Bing and Google. The techniques they used to improve our visibility on Google Maps positioned our hotels as the top result locally, and even as far as 75 miles away.

How did the Seattle Advertising, Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

Seattle Advertising called at least twice a week. As an inexperienced client with little knowledge of the SEO space, we required extension discussions.  The team was always nice, and they answered all of our questions. They worked extremely hard for our company.

What impresses you about the Seattle Advertising, Inc?

Over the years, we hadn’t achieved any results with at least ten different SEO agencies and web designers. These teams had just taken our money and made excuses for poor performance. After explaining our experience to Seattle Advertising, they said: "don't pay us until you see the first website rank highly." As promised, they boosted our platform up to a higher search result, earning our trust. We awarded them the rest of the contract for all our other hotels

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the editor of a media group that handles AP stories and online news and information delivery. I manage over 210 news professionals and multimedia technologies.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Seattle Advertising, Inc?

We manage over 330 news sites and affiliates that were in horrible condition: broken AP links, bad designs, and a non-functional advertising platform. We’d last worked on these sites in 2004, so each one needed to be rebuilt to allow news content streaming, blogs, and offsite uploading for reporters and editors.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted our websites to be both amazing and informational to reintroduce our news brand online.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I was tasked to find a branding, design, and media agency, and I read a story about the first design firm in Seattle that was founded in 1989. I Googled them, looked at their website, and decided to give them a call. The call went well so I flew up from Palo Alto. They impressed us with a great crew of guys—some of whom were former Google and Bing engineers—who gave us an amazing presentation.

They were able to tell us things about our brand even we didn’t know, like how many people were looking for us, and talked about some of their work with well-known brands. Unfortunately, they couldn’t tell us too much about them without an NDA in place. They mostly white hat for NYC firms, but they started taking clients in 2015. They impressed us so we hired them in stages.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

We hired them in three phases: First, to rebuild 100 websites to support AP and news content, and allow offsite staff to log in and post stories. Second, to rebrand each individual news station and magazine with mobile and desktop presences. Third, to gain social activity by adding at least 50,000 subscribers to each outlet and news magazine. The rest of the contract is confidential.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned two managers, Dan and Julian, who we met with initially. There were 22 social managers and UI designers under them, who sent us mockups for approval.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

This was an expensive, nearly two-year project, and Seattle Advertising was able to not only rebuild over 300 websites, but code them to appear at the top of search engines for their city or country. They also managed to get us tons of followers and news feed subscribers per city based on the type of news. I wish we’d hired them years ago.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I don’t have too much experience working with vendors in the industry, but we’d receive weekly emails that detailed completed sites—among other data, which is confidential—and what was completed for that particular week.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They did what they said they would do. So many others made us promises, but these guys were able to really do it.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There was nothing I could complain about because they would make any changes ASAP. It took a month longer than I thought it would, but that was mostly because of all our changes. They’re a great firm.
