False Promises and Shady Contracts In September 2024, I signed up to build a custom platform (CarHive Auction, Engine Inspection App, and CarVAL) based on their pitch of being a U.S.-based, reputable software development company. The deal was: Total Contract: $147,700 CADInitial Deposit: $20,000 CADBalance Due: Only upon full delivery after 6 months (I have written records of this agreement.)  But that’s not what happened.  They Pressured Me into Paying $59,000 CAD Without Delivering Anything  Despite agreeing on final payment after delivery, they constantly pressured me for more money without delivering even 50% of the work — even by their own project manager’s words (emails available). They charged: $20,000 CAD (initial)$44,000 USD (~$59,000 CAD) for two other contracts that were never startedNo working code was delivered for any of the projects  The so-called “progress updates” were inconsistent and often contradicted previous updates. We use ActiveCollab to communicate. It’s like a forum where I can continuously communicate with our developers. There was initially some apprehension about how we were going to have consistent communication and share ideas if we’ve never met.  I’m on East Coast and the developers are in India, but through ActiveCollab, we’ve been able to keep a pulse on what’s going on, what’s to come, what needs to be fixed, and what needs to be addressed.  Their availability has always been great.
