Please describe your organization.

We are startup with a software solution aimed at helping companies create proofs of concept in an automated way. We help startups to acquire new customers and work with enterprises for innovation management.

I am the Vice President of Product and Marketing.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Screen Interactive?

We wanted to create a platform as soon as possible and needed an experienced development company to help us. As a small startup, we needed a quick time to market with a reasonable cost.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement.

We gave Screen Interactive the user interface design for our platform and they handled coding using HTML, as well as several plug-ins.

We are a market network, which means that we function as a meeting place for startups and software vendors. Screen Interactive has enabled the beginning of a proof of concept. We connect from the backend system to the enterprise test environment through which a startup can have a proof of concept generated within a few minutes instead of weeks or months.

How did you come to work with Screen Interactive?

We have experience in working with offshore companies. We were looking for an offshore company in Ukraine. We had several candidates with which we had an interview and inquiry process. Among the four companies that we checked, Screen Interactive was the best suited to our needs. We negotiated a contract and started working without engaging in any test projects.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The total development cost has been around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The major parts of the project were completed in January of 2016. We've now launched a closed beta version.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

The feedback received from both startups and enterprises has been great. Only a selected number of users have been included in the closed beta, but hundreds of companies are now on the waiting list to join our platform. The first version of our solution proved that our concept was sound.

How did Screen Interactive perform from a project management standpoint?

The project had a challenging timeline, with an intensive scope of work. Generally, Screen Interactive delivered on time to a satisfactory level.

We used Gantt to create specific tasks and also a tool called Frontify, which enabled Screen Interactive to see our graphical user interface [GUI] design, enter comments, and ask questions for it. We also had daily Skype calls for monitoring their incremental progress.

The size of our team varied, but it was typically comprised of three developers. Quality assurance was handled by the coders themselves.

What distinguishes Screen Interactive from other providers?

BACKGROUND

I work for a software development company located in Melbourne, Australia. We streamline inefficient business processes with custom software solutions. Our target audience is small- to medium-sized businesses, nonprofit organizations and government agencies. I am a managing director at the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

We had built a functional website for an end-customer, but it required many design and usability improvements. It was a complex web-based solution for project management and time tracking. All of the architecture and logic was complete, but we needed an interface that allowed users to take maximum advantage of all the features available to them. We did not have the expertise here to complete the site, so we decided to find a partner to supplement our own team.

SOLUTION

We've known Screen Interactive for more than a decade now. We started with small projects and gradually increased the workload as the continued to prove their reliability. Their professionalism, attention to detail, comprehensive approach to solutions, prompt responses, and honesty in communication set them apart from other providers. Their contributions resulted in a much more streamlined and intuitive user interface than could have been possible without them. 

They designed more than a dozen front-end templates and delivered fully interactive HTML pages that we could then implement with our .NET tools, complete with styles and JavaScript. The original project was completed in about three months, followed by a number of smaller requests. We continue to use their resources. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

We have always been extremely satisfied with the results and with their overall performance. Our projects are usually delivered on time and within quoted budget and, even when they aren't, it's never a surprise. They have a very transparent and open approach, which helps build confidence and trust.

In terms of user feedback, we have had almost exclusively positive remarks. End-users report very few bugs or complain about a confusing interface. We consider all of our projects a success with them, which is why we continue to use them.
