Our business operates in a different time zone which meant we had to wait until the afternoon for support. We had a dedicated engineer handling most of our requests, which worked really well. But when they moved on to another project or left, there was an adjustment period while the new engineer got up to speed with how our system was set up and customised. Although there was a handover, it still took some time. Having more cross-training or a backup resource involved earlier could have made the transition smoother.In saying that, Scandiweb has always been open to feedback and improving the way they support us. This is when we sought after a partner which had experience working with B2B companies, and can help us clearly identify growth opportunities related to the e-commerce side, as well as enhance the features and design of the overall website presentation.

We worked with Scandiweb briefly in the past as they were being subcontracted from another local vendor of ours. After my interaction with some of their staff on that project, I was extremely impressed with their level of professionalism, and knowledge base. The quality of work they performed was clear and made me feel very trusting in them for a future partnership.

We started with a discovery phase, where we outlined what our business truly does and what our main goals are. Scandiweb's team analyzed our needs and made recommendation on specific enhancements which would drive more traffic and positive results to our e-commerce site.

 

We have had Scandiweb support us with all our develpment and QA, this year, an upgrade to Magento 2.4.3 Version, and now we have embarked on our newest integration with a PIM system implementation.

We have had a dedicated team of approx. 3-6 depending on the areas of need. For instance they have dedicated SEO and Analytics experts on staff, along with CRO and Design experts, so when it's necessary to pull in the experts, that what we do. The bulk of our day to day relationship is with a Project Manager, and dedicated developers.

Our core KPIs are the conversion rate, revenue, site loading speed, and traffic. There have been some challenges since it’s IT, and it happened over a short time, but we’re happy overall.

How did Scandiweb.com perform from a project management standpoint?

Meeting deadlines is a more complex topic. We’ve gone over development deadlines for several reasons, but we’re satisfied in terms of communication. The main communication flow is through email, and we use Jira for the development process. We’re using Muro for a high-level overview of the timelines and Notion for documentation.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re dedicated, and they have a future-looking attitude.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s a lack of specialists in the industry. We were missing some capable and experienced project managers, but they’ve assigned new ones. Having enough competence involved in the project is key, and this has been challenging for us.

The key is to get to know the team working for you and decide according to the feeling you get with them.

Shopping center Spice is located in Riga, Latvia and offers a unique shopping experience and the latest fashion and lifestyle items. The Spice brand also features a subsidiary brand Spice Home which is located in a separate building and embraces various home, interior, lifestyle and hobby stores. I am working in Spice for 3 years and I am responsible for multiple Marketing project management inside the company.

For some long time there was the idea of the hybrid retail model but it wasn't really the highest priority till pandemic made some important changes. Overall goal was to provide eCommerce type of model on shopping mall.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were investigating multiple partners with whom we could work with and we came across Scandiweb through a recommendations by looking for companies that specialized in online store development. Out of all of them, Scandiweb was with most experience in online store development.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Scandiweb supported us with integrating a hybrid retail model - an online shopping mall experience developed with Magento 2 backend and ScandiPWA frontend. Development was starting from scratch by creating the way and vision of how we could add and update products from all our tenants by custom backend integrations which allow us to import product feeds from other online stores. Import configurations include all product attributes, like price, color, descriptions, images, and many more which was a challenge to showcase the products with all the latest changes from tenant online stores.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

At any given time, we’ve worked with about 8 people from their teams. But on an ongoing basis, it’s about 3 people.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The main project lasted between May 2020 and March 2021 where during time we collected the information about tenants and fully rebranded the design of the frontend. Now, we’re on a service contract with them to support product imports and optimize SEO.

From the early beginning, we had bad luck with 2 project managers leaving the company which also affected our account, but in the end, they managed to knock this problem out of the park and top management overlook the project. We were using collaboration tools like Jira that made it easy for us to follow backlog progress and communicate. The new site has only been up for under a few months, so there is still a lot of work to be done to get more products imported from our partners.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It’s their attention to have full project documentation, high-quality code, and details, for sure. Scandiweb.com's willingness to tackle the projects no matter how complex brought the results that we envisioned. Whereas other providers might compromise the solution, Scandiweb makes sure to implement things the way we requested with the extra mile by sharing advice on how-to. Their team members are experienced and comfortable with Magento 2 and PWA.

Manage team work more effectively so the client has a maximum of 1-2 contact persons during the project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When I first met them, they suggested we be on a subscription platform or have a subscription capability on our platform. We implemented that idea and it’s proven to be very valuable to the business. It was great advice that came several years early—I just wish I could have done it sooner.

How did Scandiweb.com perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great with project management and they know the business well. I have nothing but good to say about their team, which is comprised of intelligent people who know the platforms well. It’s good working with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very good at development and doing the things that need to be done. These platforms are very technical by nature and the team is very good at manipulating technologies to meet the business’ needs. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only negative I have has to be taken with a grain of salt. They’re in Latvia, which means there is a seven-hour time difference. The good thing side of that is that if I send tickets in the afternoon, they will implement them by the next morning. Our main contact always made himself available, which makes me feel a little guilty but appreciative.

Scandiweb was found through an online search, and the reason we decided to work with them was that they were prompt in their initial replies and were able to start the project without any delays.

Initially we had a video meeting to explain our needs and meet some of the team. This was then followed by a visit to our office by one of Scandiweb developers to get a more detailed idea of our current processes, system functionalities and data that needed to be migrated. Basically, the idea was to assess the complexity of the project so that Scandiweb could propose the best system for us, but also to be able to provide more info about the cost and the length of the whole process. We had a tight schedule and the whole process had to be completed the latest by the end of October. We were then given a proposal about which system would be best for our business needs and optimistic as well as realistic estimate for the whole project. To make ERP migration smoother there was also a need to change our current website hosting, so we started with this, Scandiweb first migrated our hosting, however, work on the ERP system was going in parallel to hosting migration. There were clear deadlines set for both projects and both were achieved before the deadline.

Our priority was to move to the new ERP system before the deadline when the old ERP system would shut down, we also wanted a system that will work better for us and make our processes more efficient, but most of all we wanted smooth migration which will not have any negative impact on our website e.g. customers not being able to order etc, which was what happened in the past. And we achieved all of this.

We have had weekly meetings with Scandiweb team for the whole duration of project. During those meetings our project manager would present weekly progress, shared any questions they might have, or any obstacles that could have an impact on the deadlines, we then also raised questions we had. Between the weekly meetings our and Scandiweb team were in constant communication via emails. As we progressed through the project the team was also making guidelines for us and sharing them via Notion page which was very helpful. We were able to ask any question we might have and we would receive an instant reply from our project manager via email.

We are very happy with the results, all process was very smooth and outperformed our expectations.

Technical solution provision for Mitsubishi UK retail business, with full end-to-end "buy-online" user journey, including existing vehicle evaluation, real-time finance data calculation, new vehicle configuration, order formation and delivery or collection at the dealer.



UK car dealership network integration of 129 dealers within the unified online sales platform. Enabling dealers to configure physical vehicle stock as well as arranging unique lead times for custom configured and shipped vehicles.



Existing vehicle real-time financial evaluation with the largest used vehicle marketplace in UK and Europe - British Car Auction. Using an API which was still in its initial development phase and was shaped/improved based on our team's guidance.

Migration from a proprietary solution to the Magento platform, including re-design and a responsive theme.



50 maxi-store omni-channel integration across all of Canada, call-center and a new Magento eCommerce solution.

Magento Enterprise integration with Navision for stock, pricing and product data integration. Multi-warehouse custom implementation to track inventory across 50 stores.



Gathering data-insights from the existing store - Google Analytics for eCommerce and heat-maps to produce a new conversion-driven responsive design.



RESULT


Omni-channel integration increased on-line revenue by 12%, with the store pick up feature and the call center assisting in conversions.
