The focus was on reducing calls for smaller jobs while boosting the number of quoted work requests generated through Google Ads. Key activities included creating and optimizing targeted Google Ads campaigns to attract higher-value plumbing leads, improving ad copy and landing pages to encourage quote inquiries, and enhancing the Google My Business profile for better local visibility and customer engagement. Deliverables included increased qualified lead volume, a higher proportion of quote requests, ongoing Google Ads management, regular Google My Business updates, and monthly performance reports tracking lead quality and profile visibility.

We changed the business ownership, and one of the business partners left. We thought it was a good opportunity to refresh the website and invest heavily in marketing, SEO, and anything related to promoting the company’s new branding.

We've begun with the logo creation. We've outsourced the design of the new logo ourselves. Later, Salt & Fuessel and our team went through every page of the historical website to define what we wanted to change and keep. The old website was 10 years old, so we've added new subpages and created some things from scratch.

Salt & Fuessel has also recreated the website. We've engaged them about what we wanted to change and achieve with the new design. The team has given us options with the cost.

After launching the website, we've moved into managing SEO. We've defined the goals, costs, and the market we wanted to tackle first. We've also decided which market we no longer want to target. The SEO efforts started 3–6 months after the website launch.

Salt & Fuessel's work is good. We haven't had any major concerns or issues to address. The team follows up with us every quarter. We've noticed many more leads coming up and becoming secure jobs, and we have more online presence. People contact us by email or phone calls, and the click-through rate has increased. The cost per lead has also reduced.

Salt & Fuessel keeps offering new services, and we decide whether we want to take them on or not. They always mention new services or things we can do differently. The team also tells us about areas we can tackle or new ones we want to take on.

We don't use any project management tools. Our primary contact follows up on meetings and anything we must address with Salt & Fuessel. We get to know what's happening via their updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Salt & Fuessel works differently, in a more personal and down-to-earth way. Many SEO companies offer miracles overnight or crazy sales levels in weeks. Salt & Fuessel is more realistic. They tell us it's a working project and will take time. We won't see significant changes until probably over a year.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Salt & Fuessel needs to be more creative with AI. They're not falling behind, but it will be an opportunity or a problem, depending on how they take AI.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Salt & Fuessel isn't just an SEO or a marketing agency. There are many things the team does in-house, so we don't have one particular call, but about 30 in a month. We use the money to cover SEO, marketing, social media, Google reviews, and our own posts on social media.

We use the website for data capture and have integrated HubSpot with it. We have a large number of contact forms at different points across the website for people to approach us with inquiries or requests for quotes. Users can also download additional content to allow us to capture their contact details. The site is WordPress-based.

Salt & Fuessel also looks after our site hosting and web maintenance. We’ve engaged the team for ongoing SEO and SEM work.

We’ve observed a significant improvement in rankings with our key terms. Our return on ad spend for Q4 2024 is up 61%, and organic traffic is up 20%. We’ve added a bunch of different features, including a chatbot.

How did Salt & Fuessel perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a dedicated account manager and regular work-in-progress meetings where we discuss progress and manage any change of direction. Salt & Fuessel was very open to integrating HubSpot into the site and using various elements of the HubSpot tool to improve their own reporting. Besides, we have definitely stayed on budget.

Moreover, we use Zoho for project management and have Google Meet meetings once a week. The rest of the time, we communicate via Zoho or email. We also use phone calls for urgent matters.

Salt & Fuessel is very commercially minded and understands that it’s about the ROI piece. Their processes are very transparent, and there’s one point of contact who knows the business. There’s visibility across the rest of the specialists within the team, including the strategic, SEO, and development specialists. Those people are available at points where it’s necessary.

Furthermore, the team is knowledgeable about our business and our goals. They provide strategic input. There’s real ownership taken and responsibility for the work.

I can’t think of anything. We have a really open forum, and it’s easy to raise any concerns or have a conversation. Overall, I’m really pleased with the service we get from Salt & Fuessel.
