ROOTS INC developed a website for an advertising and marketing company. After a kick-off meeting, they collaborated with the internal team and worked on different partial deliveries for the platform.

Despite ROOTS INC's excellent organizational skills, their deliverables failed to meet the client's expectations. Communication with the project manager was difficult and sometimes conflicting. Their failure to follow timelines and work quality ultimately led to a negative rating from the client.

We hired ROOTS INC to develop a website for a launch

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Price, organization

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had a kick-off meeting to get to know their company, and for us to explain what the website would look like and the needs. Then we worked on different partial deliveries managed informally on whatsapp.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I'm actually not sure what their positions were, but maybe 2-3 people. Not directly but sent them key information when needed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It wasn't the deliverable we expected.

It was rather difficult to communicate with the project manager, I would sometimes perceive her as conflictive.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their organization skills and how they market themselves. They were really proper at the beginning of the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The process wasn't good at all, there were partial deliveries to recollect the comments for the changes, but the deliveries were so bad from the beginning that it would take a lot of them to get to the desired product from delivery 1. The project manager handled it very badly, got very conflictive because there were "too many changes" even though they compromised to deliver the design as it was approved. The delivery wasn't on time. We needed a certain look and feel (that's why the design was provided) and the finished product was far off.
